Yeah, I'm not sure I would have submitted the Bedard with that corner issue. I've seen worse 10's, but that corner is just too obvious to miss from a grading perspective. I'm not sure I'll ever get my cards graded. What was your declared value for the 1/1? They're so hard to determine.
I've graded several superfractor 1/1s from Topps thinking they would be 9s or 10s and they have come back as 8s. Don't know why (I don't see any surface issues and centering is usually good.
Never a fan of submitting for grading at shows for PSA. Seen far too many questionable grades given at shows. At a US show a few years back saw a screaming match after PSA threw some crazy low grades on a persons submissions(When they paid a premium for the quick grading). I know for a fact those were later resubmitted to PSA after much discussion with them about the grades, etc and given multiple grades higher.
PSA 8 for that Mackinnon? Did you drop the card? I've only sent in 10 cards and had 4 PSA 10s, the rest were 9s lol. SPA and OPC should be grading well
Thinking about using TAG for all my PC stuff. Price is good and it doesn’t seem subjective because of how they grade using computer/AI. Slab looks cool too
The Card Expo in Toronto, PSA, was doing on-site grading which is what he did. It's ve4y expensive but you get your cards back that day. Or depending how busy they are the next day.
I think PSA will no longer regrade cracked 1/1’s. Doesn’t make sense for a one of one to be pop 2. If you send it in for a regrade in the case .001% chance they improve the grade. Rough grades.
I'm surprised Bedard didn't get an 8 with those corners. You did good. As far as the Power, those chromed-out cards are brutal. Had the same thing happen with three Guenthers I sent in. There is a small grading company, can't remember the name, that is attempting do that. The technology is getting there but not yet. If it's a 1/1 probably not because its never seen one before. But it knows what edges and corners are like.
The lack of a report bothers me with PSA a lot, one of the reasons that I prefer TAG. It's automated and the report tells you exactly why you got the score you got.
I subbed a Crosby YG that was removed from a Beckett raw review 9.5. Came back as trimmed. Resubbed it. Came back as an 8. PSA can’t tell their a$$ from a hole in the ground

That is straight up robbery in my opinion. The service stays the same no matter what value the card has. How can you justify the upcharge. Maybe I'm missing the point here. But I really can't see why people go with PSA.
PSA is so trash. Submitted a card this weekend got a 9. Guy at customer service again looked over card and said “yeah I’m not sure how this didn’t gem, sorry”
