My Son left for the Army last year after giving up on college. I felt guilty because I thought he was doing it just because I served. He has always been my Hero and I miss him last crazy. This song makes me cry my eyes out but makes me proud of him.

I'm not a big fan of country, but this song is one of my new favorites! The first verse hits me because my 5 year old has issues with me leaving for work, especially if I would have to spend the night, the second verse hit home because I'm a veteran and dealt with that when I deployed to Iraq, and the third verse hits me because it makes me think of my dad, who hasn't past away, but I'd he did! I'm 47 and have yet to be able to get through the song, whether listening or singing, without crying!!! It's a new favorite
First time I hear this on the radio was shortly after my Dad passed away, had to pull over it hit hard. Still listen to it daily as a reminder he's always gonna be with me and have come to find happiness in this song :)

Luke is one of my favorite country singers. He seems like he is such a down to earth guy. If I am listening to any one of his songs, my radio is all the way up. Talent is talent, you have it or you don't. Luke has it.

I had a very similar reaction to “Even Though I’m Leaving”. It came out just under a year after my dad passed away. I was in my car the first time I heard it and had to pull over for a few minutes.

And as a side note my embarrassing celeb moment would have been meeting Luke at CMA fest . I was so excited that when we took our picture I squeezed his love handles 😬 I was so embarrassed I left and didn’t get him to sign my CD 😢
I don't think he does a bad one! I saw him on his birthday this year in Worcester, MA and the show was incredible; loudest crowd I've heard at a show! I'd have to say his performance of "This One's For You" at that show was out of this world. Obviously it was his birthday, and I believe he just got a few more number 1's that week as well so he seemed genuinely emotional. I just saw him at Mohegan in Uncasville, CT last week, and the same song stands out to me too. He just got 2 wins at the CMA awards and again, seemed to pour his emotions out in the song.

Eric Church use to work at Kellogg's in Rome, Georgia. He would tell co workers in the break room that one day he'd make it to Nashville as a country star. Everyone would laugh at what he was sayin, but he told us right! He's an Outstanding Country Musician
