Season 10 was so similar to season 7, Miz Cracker and Katya = came in 5th and are fan favorites, plus were eliminated by lip sync assassins Ginger Minj and Eureka = were pushed by production to win Kameron Michaels and Kennedy Davenport = Lip sync assassins Asia and Pearl are eh, they kinda struggled at the beginning but started to blossom
Shannel also broke the fourth wall/called out production in all stars 1 when it was the finale and she was like “Listen i know I’m not gonna win. There’s no way. I’m just proud of myself for making it this far.” Then Juju called her out and said she was “giving up.” To which Shannel immediately replied, “I’m not giving up at all. I just know I’m not gonna win.” She already knew that was Chad’s season to win.
Also Mariah: Back in S3 all the queens knew that Raja was favoured by a lot of factors, and that she was gonna win. When Mariah was eliminated, she wrote in her farewell message "Congratulations Raja"

I agree on s11, it was awkward to watch silky being saved too many fucking times and giving her wins she didn’t deserve, Yvie should have won the rusical and shuga snatch game. In as4 i think it was pretty fucked up with everyone, Manila not making it to the finale just because of storyline reasons of being on the bottom with Latrice, I’m pretty sure Manila would have won the last challenge and given so, she would definitely would have won, same with the club challenge that even tho she did EVERYTHING and came up with the concept, they didn’t give her a win just to make Latrice win for again, storyline purposes. Naomi going onto the finale with a pretty mediocre track record, idk too many inconsistencies

Plus the show had to crown a POC so they wouldnt look bad ,which is pretty ridiculous and shows how fear of being seen as racist is toxic, thus crowning and forcing Monet. The funny thing is that if they didnt force Monet they would have crowned Monique which had a better track record and was more likable.

Nomi Malone Season 11 was (no pun intended) odd. It seemed like things were amazing and horrible. Beautiful runways, actually interesting and fun challenges, and good lip syncs, but weird judging, unfair eliminations, and horrible personalities. I’ll say that it’s a good season, but not as legendary like S1-S6

Max Broke the 4th wall a lot during season 7 when she said I’m wearing as much green as you do to Violet (going against the judges opinion), when she refuse to change her wigs, when she was upset while challenges and the girls talking about sex. William Mohamad First of all, Yvie is far from ugly, and second of all, Brooke was just a fashion queen that wasn’t really standoff-ish but didn’t have much of a personality.
Remember when out of nowhere during the season 10 and 11 reunions they tried to paint Kameron and Brooke as villains? This was only to make sure that the only acceptable finalist to win was Aquaria/Yvie. Eureka was also a finalist but she was already heavily disliked by the fandom so she was out. It was between Aquaria and Kameron but since Aquaria (who also did so much better in the competition than Kameron) was the queen they were pushing to win, they had to make Kameron look like the villain with that whole "you don't say hi to any of us" nonsense. It's even more apparent with Brooke Lynn Hytes. She was the clear winner statistics wise. She dominated compared to Yvie but the producers wanted Yvie to win because it was very Sharon-esque. That's why during the reunion they painted Brooke as this selfish heartless bitch. They made Branjie seem toxic and abusive and Vanjie was the victim but they both explain it very clearly that it just didn't work out and they couldn't make time for each other.

It came to a point when the show isn't really worth watching. The last good season was S9, and it wasn't even the best since S6 or AS2. Katya was also a miss congeniality who had a controversial elimination 2 episodes before the finale. Maybe she's less campy but she's funny and got along with everyone. Plus someone who claimed to work in production said (regarding Katya's elimination) they do that storyline on purpose because it gets people to talk about the show more online and creates a nice #robbed fan favourite
Also, the 6th place "Surprise" elimination in AS seasons, where someone only goes home 'cause production knows it will cause drama. We have Tatianna, who did very well in the main challenge, but was in the bottom two over Detox making a boring ad about a garbage can (No hate, but it was BORING), and then sent home by Alaska despite Alaska licking Katya mid-lip sync. At least it gave us the shirt joke. We also have Dela, who self-elim'd as the clear front runner, although I will give her that her lip sync was kinda better. Then we have Manila, who was the front runner of the season up to that point, and ends up in the bottom beside Latrice, someone who was already eliminated a while back, and they have Naomi and Monet in the two top, which basically seals Manila's fate right away.
They didn't even need anyone else in Season 10. They knew, before it even started, they were going to give the win to Aquaria. I knew it as soon as she walked into the workroom. Thorgy and Katya were robbed. Katya should have won AS2, but they HAD to bring in Rolaskatox to ensure Alaska would win.
What about the guest judge who is aware about the competition shady aspects, and calls out a member of the panel. A perfect example of this was Gillian Jacobs from Community, who said on the snatch game episode of season 6, something like "I'm a big fan of the show, and majority of the time when a queen is told to step up their drag, they're sent home the next episode."
Can I ask a genuine question, and it's something I've been thinking for some time. While editing and the work of production has been apparent through drag race for a substantial amount of time, does anyone else feel like editing and the strings being pulled by production became a lot more obvious and sloppy after drag race moved back to VH1? I feel like I can see a difference from season 8, to season 9 and and all stars onwards.
yeah I think because VH1 has more say in how it's produced. Now it's produced like all the other trashy reality shows on VH1, with less of a focus on telling LGBTQ stories centered around the art of drag, and more of a focus on making great TV to appeal to a mass audience.

I loved season 11 because it was a combination of so many seasons: season 3 (miss vanjie had shangela's storyline) season 4 (yvie just like sharon being a misunderstood queen who won in the end) season 5 (jinkx vs ralaskatox and yvie vs the dream girls) and season 9 (yvie winning over brooke just like sasha wining over shea) It was such a good year to be a drag race fan

I see some parallels between Chi Chi Devanye and Heidi N Closet. Both had a storyline of being a small town Southern Queen whose charm made up for a lack of experience. I love them both but I hope Heidi has an easier time when she eventually comes back for an All Stars season.

RPDR is stepping into Survivor, American Idol, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars territory for me, meaning that these were all shows I loved and watched faithfully but eventually they got too damn long and repetitive for me where I completely stopped watching. Seaaon 11 of drag race was the first season I didnt watch every single week and still havent seen the last 3 episodes. I already know Yvie won though because the internet just LOOOVES spoilers.
I think that all queens eliminated 5th were all expected to go further and possibly to the top 5. Ongina, Morgan, Mariah, Kenya (she returned later in the season), Gia, acid Betty, eureka(removed from the competition), mayhem and Ariel. The only other ones are lineysha sparkxs and she was actually doing well until her elimination so even she can be included and kasha Davis who was popular in her season too
Honestly, I always felt that Ginger was out AS2 and even edited out sometimes because the producers probably wanted her to be the mean and bitter old queen she was on season 6 You can tell they also tried to make Roxxy a villain again but she refused to do or say mean things however she was kept around for the Rolaskatox storyline
For the past few seasons, theres a black lip sync assassin that gets sent home by the also black pageant queen (Asia v.s. Vixen, A'keria v.s. Rajah, Jaida v.s. Heidi) and each time its the pageant queen's only time in the bottom two. Not sure why the producers would want this or if it's just a big coincidence.
She would've done great. I don't see her being bad on Farms, Snatch Game, LAPD, Magic Show. I can see her flopping the Makeover and getting sent home or even flopping the top 5 Queens Everywhere challenge.

I also think the top 4 in season 9 and top 3 +Heidi on season 12 were similar. There were : Shea and Gigi, queens with 4 wins dominating the competition. They have not, or could almost have not, lipsynced for their lives. But in the last episode they get outperformed by a weaker competitively contestant. Also they have an interesting relationship with the 3rd frontrunner, Sasha or Crystal. Trinity and Jaida, pageant queens who do not label themselves as just pageant queen and who can do when more than expected. Both were underestimated at the beginning. They both got 3 wins and are at 2nd place competitively and could or have won the season. Sasha and Crystal, "weird" queens outside of the box, not necessarily understood by the judges. They were at 3rd place competitively and during the finally were not really expected to win the crown against Shea/Trinity/Jaida/Gigi. Also they have an interesting relationship with the frontrunner, Shea or Gigi. Peppermint and Heidi, both lipsync assassins with a loveable personality suited for miss congeniality who were very underestimated at the beginning but grow on the audience. When thinking about it they really are so similar. You could even go to say as though the seasons were similar because everyone on the casts were really talented and could have gone far and everyone was kind, basically making the seasons Rupauls Drag Therapy.
I have always believed that the all stars format is for crowning a queen who was underrated or understated in her respective season, but was still memorable or beloved. Chad Michaels was known for her poise and polish. Meaning she didn't have a loud personality, was still a fierce queen. Got lost in the crowd of the loud ones. Alaska was constantly under the pressure of being Sharon's partner, even when everyone could see she had the talent. I assume that AS3 was geared for Ben, but when she realised her place in the show, she decided to back track. And then rest is history. I assume for AS4, Monet was the intended winner, since she truly was the underdog of season 10. Trinity would not really be considered one. But I guess after Shangela's story in AS3, they wanted to avoid the problems, and made 2 queens. So, all the really talented and/or popular queens, they were never meant to win. Manila, Shangela, Alyssa, Detox, Raven. You name them.
I like Rajah outside of the show. She started to get an edit that can make people not like Her; however, unlike a certain series 10 contestant (who made some fair points, for better or worse), Rajah didn’t appear to have a chip on their shoulder.
Seasons 9-11 gave us the pageant queen plotline. A known pageant queen (Trinity [despite her trying to distance herself from that role], Asia, Akeria) all respected competitors who ended up I the top for but not the top 2.

Season 10 top 3 was very similar to season 4's: a Michaels and a O'hara vs the winner (Sharon and her drag daughter). Also Season 10's top 5 elimination order is very similar to season 7's: 5th: Katya/Cracker, 4th: Kennedy/Asia, 3rd and 2nd: Ginger/Eureka and Pearl/Kameron, 1st: Violet/Aquaria.

Season 11 and as3 are the most forced storyline seasons. Hence the worst. Idm a storyline but those seasons just felt rigged. At least have some subtlety. For example silky should not have lasted that long and was saved countless times. I’m not about hating queens but she was not performing as well as the other queens

Com certeza, quando os produtores decidem o elenco do programa, eles procuram por Queens que se encaixem em diferentes categorias, porém, eles não tem como prever como elas vão se sair quando estarão atuando fora da zona de conforto delas (como foi o caso da Trinity e Aquaria). Acredito também que parte do sucesso do programa venha do fato dele sempre contar uma história e para isso eles precisam manipular falas e editar bastante. E eu, sinceramente, como fã gosto de como eles fazem, porque me sinto estimulado a continuar assistindo a temporada... Um exemplo de manipulação, ainda não mencionado no seu canal, foi a forma exageradamente positiva como a Manila era criticada no AS4: revendo a temporada, notei que muitos dos seus looks não deveriam estar entre os melhores (me refiro ao branco, curvas e botas) e mesmo assim as críticas eram sempre positivas. Claro que isso faz o drama da sua eliminação ser muito maior. Mas para mim, a graça do programa é essa mesmo, só não podemos levar as coisas tão seriamente, porque representam só 50% da realidade.
Eu acho que essa coisa de trazer queens do All Stars 1 que o povo grita "injustiçadas" (me referendo a queens super favoritas do público como Manila, Latrice, Jujubee, mas que já competiram no All Stars e aí a gente fica com esse sentimento de "putz então o primeiro All Stars não valeu" mas ninguém se atreve a dizer isso pra não invalidar a vitória da Chad) acaba deixando a temporada meio pesada, porque é um bando de gente querendo que a fave que não teve a melhor trajetória na primeira vez seja obrigatoriamente mandada direto pro top 3 enquanto outras que realmente voltaram pra se redimir e mostrar crescimento ficam meio que à mercê dessa situação e ainda correm o risco de serem canceladas pelo público ao terem a chance de eliminar uma dessas queens (cof cof Naomi) Sinceramente, gostei da mudança no processo de eliminação agora no AS5, virou meio que uma democracia e o peso não cai sempre nos ombros de uma queen pela eliminação
Latrice in as4 and Silky in her season are the most obvious ones to me as they both did a lot worse than they were given credit for and it was annoying and obvious they were being kept over much more deserving queens because of their comedic personality and likability - ironically through trying to forcefully keep them the producers made me (and a lot of people I know) start to hate them for staying, winning or coming back when they really shouldn't have

It seemed to me that they wanted to make trinity look like a fucking drag goddess when she even wasn’t that great at certain points, Monet also was hella confident for somebody who was on the bottom twice and fucked up on other two challenges (snatch game and talent show), Gia had and unnecessary villain edit, literally every confesional it’s her throwing shade, Farrah just was there for her storyline with Valentina with her being eliminated by Valentina and then returning to lipsync against her, Monique not being top2 and having the best track record on the top4 after trinity it’s shit too, The edition focusing more on the Valentina telenovela more than her doing bad or good and honestly she did better than she was portrayed as... Naomi going onto the finale with a pretty mediocre track record, idk too many inconsistencies

Plus the show had to crown a POC so they wouldnt look bad ,which is pretty ridiculous and shows how fear of being seen as racist is toxic, thus crowning and forcing Monet. The funny thing is that if they didnt force Monet they would have crowned Monique which had a better track record and was more likable.
Rajah literally said "I know y'all keep putting me in the bottom because you need entertainment. I got ya boo." She was 100% correct cause in my opinion her lipsyncs were great. Unfortunately the way they edited it that was also her last episode.

Nomi Malone again, season 11 was an awful season. The only good things we really got from season 11 was Nina, Yvie, and maybe Mercedes.

Nomi Malone Season 11 was (no pun intended) odd. It seemed like things were amazing and horrible. Beautiful runways, actually interesting and fun challenges, and good lip syncs, but weird judging, unfair eliminations, and horrible personalities. I’ll say that it’s a good season, but not as legendary like S1-S6

Remember when out of nowhere during the season 10 and 11 reunions they tried to paint Kameron and Brooke as villains? This was only to make sure that the only acceptable finalist to win was Aquaria/Yvie. Eureka was also a finalist but she was already heavily disliked by the fandom so she was out. It was between Aquaria and Kameron but since Aquaria (who also did so much better in the competition than Kameron) was the queen they were pushing to win, they had to make Kameron look like the villain with that whole "you don't say hi to any of us" nonsense. It's even more apparent with Brooke Lynn Hytes. She was the clear winner statistics wise. She dominated compared to Yvie but the producers wanted Yvie to win because it was very Sharon-esque. That's why during the reunion they painted Brooke as this selfish heartless bitch. They made Branjie seem toxic and abusive and Vanjie was the victim but they both explain it very clearly that it just didn't work out and they couldn't make time for each other.
Clearly it only worked well for S9 with Valentina, but then again it was confirmed multiple times to be scripted.

The last good season was S9, and it wasn't even the best since S6 or AS2. Not only that but the fandom also helped making the show worse thanks to favoritism and racism.

We have Tatianna, who did very well in the main challenge, but was in the bottom two over Detox making a boring ad about a garbage can (No hate, but it was BORING), and then sent home by Alaska despite Alaska licking Katya mid-lip sync. At least it gave us the shirt joke.
We also have Dela, who self-elim'd as the clear front runner, although I will give her that her lip sync was kinda better.
Then we have Manila, who was the front runner of the season up to that point, and ends up in the bottom beside Latrice, someone who was already eliminated a while back, and they have Naomi and Monet in the two top, which basically seals Manila's fate right away.
Can you imagine all stars 3, Shea Snatching Trophies so in episode 6 she goes to the Botton and be eliminated

What about the guest judge who is aware about the competition shady aspects, and calls out a member of the panel. A perfect example of this was Gillian Jacobs from Community, who said on the snatch game episode of season 6, something like "I'm a big fan of the show, and majority of the time when a queen is told to step up their drag, they're sent home the next episode."

Can I ask a genuine question, and it's something I've been thinking for some time. While editing and the work of production has been apparent through drag race for a substantial amount of time, does anyone else feel like editing and the strings being pulled by production became a lot more obvious and sloppy after drag race moved back to VH1? I feel like I can see a difference from season 8, to season 9 and and all stars onwards.

yeah I think because VH1 has more say in how it's produced. Now it's produced like all the other trashy reality shows on VH1, with less of a focus on telling LGBTQ stories centered around the art of drag, and more of a focus on making great TV to appeal to a mass audience.

I loved season 11 because it was a combination of so many seasons: season 3 (miss vanjie had shangela's storyline) season 4 (yvie just like sharon being a misunderstood queen who won in the end) season 5 (jinkx vs ralaskatox and yvie vs the dream girls) and season 9 (yvie winning over brooke just like sasha wining over shea)

I see some parallels between Chi Chi Devanye and Heidi N Closet. Both had a storyline of being a small town Southern Queen whose charm made up for a lack of experience. I love them both but I hope Heidi has an easier time when she eventually comes back for an All Stars season.
I agree with this one. Both were creative with what they had at the time, were naturally charming and proved to be fierce entertainers. I just hope if Heidi comes back for All Stars they don't give her the same shitty storyline they gave Chi Chi. Chi Chi deserved better.

RPDR is stepping into Survivor, American Idol, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars territory for me, meaning that these were all shows I loved and watched faithfully but eventually they got too damn long and repetitive for me where I completely stopped watching. Seaaon 11 of drag race was the first season I didnt watch every single week and still havent seen the last 3 episodes. I already know Yvie won though because the internet just LOOOVES spoilers.

I think that all queens eliminated 5th were all expected to go further and possibly to the top 5. Ongina, Morgan, Mariah, Kenya (she returned later in the season), Gia, acid Betty, eureka(removed from the competition), mayhem and Ariel. The only other ones are lineysha sparkxs and she was actually doing well until her elimination so even she can be included and kasha Davis who was popular in her season too

For the past few seasons, theres a black lip sync assassin that gets sent home by the also black pageant queen (Asia v.s. Vixen, A'keria v.s. Rajah, Jaida v.s. Heidi) and each time its the pageant queen's only time in the bottom two. Not sure why the producers would want this or if it's just a big coincidence.

I also think the top 4 in season 9 and top 3 +Heidi on season 12 were similar. There were :
Shea and Gigi, queens with 4 wins dominating the competition. They have not, or could almost have not, lipsynced for their lives. But in the last episode they get outperformed by a weaker competitively contestant. Also they have an interesting relationship with the 3rd frontrunner, Sasha or Crystal.
Trinity and Jaida, pageant queens who do not label themselves as just pageant queen and who can do when more than expected. Both were underestimated at the beginning. They both got 3 wins and are at 2nd place competitively and could or have won the season.
Sasha and Crystal, "weird" queens outside of the box, not necessarily understood by the judges. They were at 3rd place competitively and during the finally were not really expected to win the crown against Shea/Trinity/Jaida/Gigi. Also they have an interesting relationship with the frontrunner, Shea or Gigi.
Peppermint and Heidi, both lipsync assassins with a loveable personality suited for miss congeniality who were very underestimated at the beginning but grow on the audience.
When thinking about it they really are so similar. You could even go to say as though the seasons were similar because everyone on the casts were really talented and could have gone far and everyone was kind, basically making the seasons Rupauls Drag Therapy.
I have always believed that the all stars format is for crowning a queen who was underrated or understated in her respective season, but was still memorable or beloved.
Chad Michaels was known for her poise and polish. Meaning she didn't have a loud personality, was still a fierce queen. Got lost in the crowd of the loud ones.
Alaska was constantly under the pressure of being Sharon's partner, even when everyone could see she had the talent.
I assume that AS3 was geared for Ben, but when she realised her place in the show, she decided to back track. And then rest is history.
I assume for AS4, Monet was the intended winner, since she truly was the underdog of season 10. Trinity would not really be considered one. But I guess after Shangela's story in AS3, they wanted to avoid the problems, and made 2 queens.
So, all the really talented and/or popular queens, they were never meant to win. Manila, Shangela, Alyssa, Detox, Raven. You name them.

Seasons 9-11 gave us the pageant queen plotline. A known pageant queen (Trinity [despite her trying to distance herself from that role], Asia, Akeria) all respected competitors who ended up I the top for but not the top 2.

What about the villain storyline
Season 10 top 3 was very similar to season 4's: a Michaels and a O'hara vs the winner (Sharon and her drag daughter). Also Season 10's top 5 elimination order is very similar to season 7's: 5th: Katya/Cracker, 4th: Kennedy/Asia, 3rd and 2nd: Ginger/Eureka and Pearl/Kameron, 1st: Violet/Aquaria.
I wonder if Plastiue would have been pushed to top 4 who would she be replacing? My best guess is akeria since they wanted a versus storyline with Silky and Yvie and a lipsync between Vanjie and Brooke.

Season 11 and as3 are the most forced storyline seasons. Hence the worst. Idm a storyline but those seasons just felt rigged. At least have some subtlety. Com certeza, quando os produtores decidem o elenco do programa, eles procuram por Queens que se encaixem em diferentes categorias, porém, eles não tem como prever como elas vão se sair quando estarão atuando fora da zona de conforto delas (como foi o caso da Trinity e Aquaria).
Acredito também que parte do sucesso do programa venha do fato dele sempre contar uma história e para isso eles precisam manipular falas e editar bastante. E eu, sinceramente, como fã gosto de como eles fazem, porque me sinto estimulado a continuar assistindo a temporada...
Um exemplo de manipulação, ainda não mencionado no seu canal, foi a forma exageradamente positiva como a Manila era criticada no AS4: revendo a temporada, notei que muitos dos seus looks não deveriam estar entre os melhores (me refiro ao branco, curvas e botas) e mesmo assim as críticas eram sempre positivas. Claro que isso faz o drama da sua eliminação ser muito maior.
Mas para mim, a graça do programa é essa mesmo, só não podemos levar as coisas tão seriamente, porque representam só 50% da realidade.
Eu acho que essa coisa de trazer queens do All Stars 1 que o povo grita "injustiçadas" (me referendo a queens super favoritas do público como Manila, Latrice, Jujubee, mas que já competiram no All Stars e aí a gente fica com esse sentimento de "putz então o primeiro All Stars não valeu" mas ninguém se atreve a dizer isso pra não invalidar a vitória da Chad) acaba deixando a temporada meio pesada, porque é um bando de gente querendo que a fave que não teve a melhor trajetória na primeira vez seja obrigatoriamente mandada direto pro top 3 enquanto outras que realmente voltaram pra se redimir e mostrar crescimento ficam meio que à mercê dessa situação e ainda correm o risco de serem canceladas pelo público ao terem a chance de eliminar uma dessas queens (cof cof Naomi)
Sinceramente, gostei da mudança no processo de eliminação agora no AS5, virou meio que uma democracia e o peso não cai sempre nos ombros de uma queen pela eliminação

Latrice in as4 and Silky in her season are the most obvious ones to me as they both did a lot worse than they were given credit for and it was annoying and obvious they were being kept over much more deserving queens because of their comedic personality and likability - ironically through trying to forcefully keep them the producers made me (and a lot of people I know) start to hate them for staying, winning or coming back when they really shouldn't have
