Always blows my mind how smooth and quiet these birds are given the size! Almost no change in sound from taxi to spool up and take off. Looking forward to my SQ flight in A380 from SIN-LHR this summer
A little tip for you regarding the electronic window blinds. You do not have to let it open fully. After pressing the 'UP' arrow, you can press the 'DOWN' button while it is opening to stop it. Hope this helps ;)
Great video Kevin! Emirates a380 business class is my choice of business class in the Middle East and fly it a couple times a month, quality! Interesting you said Emirates has the biggest entertainment system, I would say Cathay does with just about every movie and tv show imaginable plus Disney+!
@@tfftThat was probably because in your video’s you flew on their regional planes but on their a350 and 777 it is so much better as it is for long-haul!
Love this "whale bird " and have been lucky enough to fly in BC out to NZ. to get off that plane after a solid nights sleep was bliss.Agree with you on how quiet it is on take off and landing cosidering the tonnage that its carrying. The service from the crew on all journeys was on point as was the food. Those warm nuts with the champagne and the mezza plate was delicious. All wines I sampled were superb. The only disappointment for me was the BC lounge in DXB - massively busy - in hindsight maybe i was unlucky but if those big birds come in all at similar times....the result is massive lines at the restos which I didn't expect. Will continue flying Emirates as Im racking up points but when i flew SingAir to South East Asia earlier year they were pretty impressive too.Just discovered your channel...Im in scrolling mode . Happy Travels KCC
Love the quiet and spacious a380! Always a fun novelty to enjoy a shower on those rare lucky occasions I get to experience Emirates F. Too bad a380s are not more economically viable for the airlines.
Do you not miss having a true spool up though? haha. I admit A380s are a very comfortable ride, but the lack of a spool up knocks it off my list of favorite aircraft lol
These 'in the middle of it' openings help viewership which in the end means more videos, but yes- I understand and still use the same format on my hotel videos.
I've said that before, too. For such a whale, she's so quiet (which is amazing), but imagine if there was a team-up with AMG and there was sound enhancement for the engines in the cabin or to each seat as a customised option. I'd book just for that, ahah -- lovely review and video, cheers!
My experiences of the A380 were both in BA business class, which has a 2 4 2 layout, and it was lower level. Nothing to write home about. Your description of the Cinder bl9ck tablet was funny.
Good review. Bonus-point for the kick-pleat action. The airport? Nice but I found arriving three hours before my flight cutting it fine. Everyone in front of me at check-in was in a family-group, with ten pieces of plasi-wrapped baggage balanced on a single trolley. Jordan? Worth given eight or nine days to.
I find EVA Air's dreamliner seats to be the most comfortable in economy class, closely followed by EK due to its spacious A380 cabin and incomparably better entertainment. However, during a recent flight with EK, I encountered an issue where my seat didn't stay reclined as it should. It would move with me if I didn't apply constant pressure, and could slide back upright. The crew took a look, disassembling my seat in the blink of an eye, but they couldn't resolve the problem in the air, and showed me the only other seat empty on board, a middle seat towards the back. Instead of moving, I tried playing around with the button, gave up and managed to sleep, but I felt a bit let down that the crew didn't offer any compensation or apology for the inconvenience, especially since the seat and seatback started sliding apart at the joint of the structure, exposing an inch of the metal which I noticed after landing. Would you think like me or is this an overreaction?
After my first flight in the upper deck of the A380 I was spoilt for life. No other plane is so quiet, calm, stable and comfy in the air, even the Airbus A350 does not come close, let alone the 787.
I flew from Melbourne to Dublin and return in the last 2 weeks in business class. Got to experience the new and old A380 and the 777. Overall a380 was a nice product I did have a 30h delay due to the storms and Emirates did let its customers down with communications
I flew out (of AUH) during the storms as well. One flight which I definitely do not remember fondly. Turbulance was so bad that I thought we landed on two occasions.
At the end of 2021 I traveled with A380 from Dubai to Amman an afternoon flight. My seat was economy next to the emergency gate. 14:25 looks like Amman was having a chance of Thunderstorms that day.
At least you weren't in Dubai during the recent flooding / heavy rain, business class be nice but well for me., economy is the only option: Awesome Emirates flight review✈👍
Good review as usual .. I had some flights with Emirates over the years mostly on 777 and the product is obsolete and not comfortable in business... The bling factor just doesn't do anything for me. Pricewise they are not particularly competitive either...
The new massive and glitzy airport terminal in Dhaka, Bangladesh will look like a mix of Amman and Mumbai Airport. The terminal will open in Jan 2025. I hope you will visit Dhaka, Bangladesh next year when the new terminal opens and perhaps try Biman Bangladesh Airlines. I expected Dhaka to be included in your kangaroo route series but anyways next year you will have a nice experience when the new terminal opens.
The cinder block tablet cracks me up, it sure looks like something out of The Flintstones! Amazing how Emirates can still generate money flying these kerosine guzzling whales on these short/medium hops with the gigantic costs to have them maintained, landing fees, amount of staff etc. (even though I realise circumstances during your travel affected the amount of pax)…. counting down for Thursday 🚨 Thank you for the review as always!
Thursday is probably the most understated doozey I've ever produced lol. For reasons (and laws) I'm sure you know well, I was very careful and conservative in the delivery- but hopefully still got the point across.
I posted a comment related to a factor that affects flight safety a lot more than them not playing the safety video on your recent Lufthansa video. My comment was censored (deleted) within minutes. This level of censorship is insane. My comment had to do with a recent event related to the company that manufactures the 747. You can check the press since I cannot post anything on this platform evidently.
I get comments about Boeing, the 737 Max, Whistleblowers, Spirit… nearly everyday (which are all visible)- so you must be sayin something really special 😂
@@tfft I wasn't except I stated that Boeing is very efficient on that front (if you know what I mean). Censorship on YT has become insane though you may not be aware.
Hey Kevin, looking forward for new Indonesian content. There is a new St Regis in Jakarta and also would love you to review Raffles Bali. Raffles Bali literally is the largest Raffles property in the world with small amount of rooms and also got 4.9 review on Google. I trust your review more than anyone.
Jumeirah Bali, just around the corner from Raffles also has a 4.9, yet it was the dirtiest beach I've seen in ages lol- not to mention the other issues at the resort. All crowd sourced review sites are absolute crap at this point.
These older fit outs are awful for long haul. Old, dirty. Always make sure you book with the layout that has premium economy . Then you know it’s gonna be the new out fit.
After watching many of your videos, i must say i don’t understand why you are too prejudgy when it comes to middle eastern countries. Although you try to pass these bad false informations under the table, but it is obvious for people who see you content since long time and hear every word you say. You telling your subscribers you are non biased, so stay unbiased. Your channel is to review and give opinion about airlines and airports, not the people or countries. If you want to criticize other things beside aviation just be honest and don’t pretend in every video that you are unbiased. Huge thumbs down.
So either you commented on the wrong video or you are high af. Either way, you couldn’t be further off base if you tried. 2 huge thumbs down to the troll of the day.

wake up early morning, find your flight report on youtube and I simply play it and enjoy your experience 🎉

Great content as always. But we’re only fully entertained when Kevin gets annoyed and disgruntled- that’s gold
😅
Oh, well buckle up for this Thursday.
14:25: Love the thunder during take-off
Ironically I didn't even notice it while on board hah.
A380 is the quietest jet in the sky and by far the most comfortable with its bigger economy seats

I fully agree about the lounge in Dubai- which I'll talk about in my Saturday video. A huge meandering (smoky) disappointment.
Thanks for all your hard work Kevin!

Thanks- RUH on the airport stats card you mean? It says RUH.
You are correct. Sorry
Wow - you really did mean electrifying ⚡I'd love it if they piped in the spool up sound especially as the A380 sounds like the THX sound :)
