I'm confused about the foliage transparency setting. *** Best setting guide for World of Tanks I have ever seen!!! I'm playing the game since 2012 and over all that years I watched countless vids and guides with the same or similar topics from a variety of sources. You did a fantastic job by putting together this video. No wonder that even your cat wanted to be a part of it by making its appearance :-) I am really looking forward to further exploring your channel.
nice production quality. i was searching my own video and came across yours, and I just made a series of settings videos too. nice job and Good Luck !!
Thanks for your video, I had found my settings pretty similar to yours, but one area where the default settings REALLY are wrong is battle notifications. I found a massive improvement after changing this to your recommended settings, the default setting feels like "Someone, somewhere did some sort of damage" the advanced settings are very specific. So you actually know what mistake you are making and how to combat it. Thanks again.
Thanks for the run-down on settings. Saw your interview with Guido (I'm in his clan) and thought I'd check your channel out. Lots of good info. Looks like I have a lot of reading to do on your website. Thanks again...
There is also a mod available where whenever you hit a pre-determined key, a 15 meter circle goes around your tank which shows you how far back you need to be from foliage to not lose the camo value of the foliage while firing. The mod is good to use whenever you are in a situation where you would prefer to fire while in arcade mode and not in sniper mode because the only way you can see the 15 meter circle is when you are in arcade mode and whenever you are in sniper mode, you can determine the 15 meter distance by using this foliage transparency trick. Whenever the foliage turns opaque, you know that your 15 meters behind the foliage and can safely fire.

Thanks for your advices. I used to set everything to Ultra, but you have opened my eyes about a couple of settings (that grass on sniper mode, I never thought of it).
Great video! One tip however, I believe that 3D render resolution means something different than the explanation you gave. Usually in games, 3D rendering resolution refers to the rendering resolution of the 3D game world. So if you have a 1440p monitor, but your video card isn't strong enough, you can lower the 3D render resolution to 75%, which will render the game world at 1080p, and since your resolution is still set to 1440p, your minimap and HUD and user interface will still look nice and sharp because those are at full resolution. I would suggest sliding the slider all the way to the left to see what it looks like! I use this setting on my laptop to get more performance out of my integrated graphics.
I want to know more about that handsome and skilled fellow driving the TOG. He is definitely the star of this video. Great content and this kinda of information is why I watch your streams cuz you keep this kinda of commentary going in real time during play. You should consider switching to HP Left / Total on enemy HP bars. It can be useful for determining if a tank has a stock turret or top turret before ever being able to see them.
Hm, that's a valid point. I honestly keep the HP Left / Total on using mods. I will say that even a player of my caliber, if you gave me a hit point value I don't think I could tell you if the tank was stock or not. It usually takes seeing the alpha damage, or the actual appearance of the turret to know if a tank is at a disadvantage. I appreciate this input! :)

@@13Disciple My biggest issue was accurate shots. I think unselecting the Windows Enhanced Pointer Precision made a big difference. Interesting video for players who aren't aware of much of what they can actually change to make their game play better or be more comfortable. Some graphical information you missed out on however: 1 Your explanation of 3D render resolution was not correct. This does not affect overall texture quality or quality at distance (this is LOD). What this actually means is what % of your set resolution that the game will be rendered at. At 1920x1080 50% would equal 990x540. Dynamic adjustment will increase or decrease the render resolution in accordance with current FPS. I believe it tries to always hit 30 or 60 but I'm not sure. 2 Post processing should be mentioned as it adds various spark effects to destroyed tanks, this would be in a similar vain with extra effects quality. If your shooting over a recently destoryed wreck is can be very difficult to see. 3 Terrain tessellation was not mentioned but actually affects gameplay quite a bit! Tessellation increases the height that textures render at with a 3D effect, this is really cool for visuals but the textures will extend further than the hitboxes. At the very least this should be disabled in sniper mode. This is a major resource hog up there with shadow and lighting quality. Keep up the good work

How about field of view? I’ve been playing with dynamic field of view with an upper and lowe range set. Not sure if I should change to a one set view of field.
Excellent tutorial. One big note - There should NOT be an option to avoid vehicle shaking when firing. Speaking from personal experience, firing the main gun on a tank causes significant vibration and can actually cause the entire vehicle to lurch 1-3 inches to the rear (it's also one of the most awesome experiences ever, having 50 tons of steel shifting like that...). I get that you turn the shaking option off, but its completely unrealistic to do so...!
I like your help video, and post this to share my experiences to maybe help others too. I was randomly crashing in Randoms whenever I turned anti aliasing on in the game options, but then I found I could turn off AA in game BUT turn on a lot of visual improvement via the AMD graphic card software options without crashing. I did try asking why this might be in AMDs tech support and got no answers. And the little google research I could find suggested this AA crashing may be a Mobo North-bridge cooling issue. So what my fix did was bypass the North-bridge (I think) and put the load (heat) directly into the card which was in theory able to run WoT at ultra settings.
Thanks I learned some new things! Yes please mods vid. Also in the Dev Q&A they talked about shots going low and mentioned turning off terrain tesselation. I don't know if this helps any but I turned it off because I have that issue sometimes. Personally I think it is more of a server client communication problem but what do I know? :)
Tessellation makes a 2d texture (such as the ground surface) appear 3 dimensional. I've played with turning it on and off, and found that it did not significantly impact my game play. I leave it turned on for the prettier textures. Basically it means the silhouette edges of a polygon mesh might be rendered out, when in fact the hit box may not be.
For the foliage transparency setting, your side by side video shows that with foliage transparency turned on, when the tank is within 15 meters of the bush, the bush completely disappears and as soon as you are 15 meters behind the bush, the bush immediate becomes opaque and with foliage transparency turned off, when you are within 15 meters of the bush, the bush is varying degrees of translucent depending on how close you are to the bush. So did you reverse the headings for these side by side videos? I understood that with foliage transparency turned off, the bush is completely invisible when within 15 meters.
I have a problem... when I am playing, I zoom in/out using the scroll button on my mouse, however, it is inverse, if i scroll forward, it zoom out and when I scroll backward it zoom in. Do you now how to change that configuration ?
Recommended by Guido, Recommended by Taugrim, why the hell did it take me so long to watch this video? No wonder I suck so bad 🤦♂️ Good stuff, Disciple. Learned my lesson, going to the mods video now.
Hy 13Disciple. Could you make a video or a couple of videos talking about crew skills. What every skill does and which skills would be better for each crew member according to the tank class. This is something that I and looking for a while and when someone makes a video is too superficial. Another point about crew that would be great to talk about is how to transfer crew members and when do to this. Wargaming says the premium tanks can be utilised to train crew for another tanks. Thank you.

Im looking to remove or reduce the graphics setting on fire every time there is an allied vehicle that died in from of me the graphics for fire/flame and smoke is too much and gets distorted I cant see the enemy clearly its tilting
Imagive having effects 100. I have it on like 15 and still when I get shot at while inside zoom my ear drums gets blown up. I would have to have effects on 5 to have normal sounding received hits, but then I don't hear any other effetcs. My own gun would literally be silent, but received hits would be normal. That is also annoying. I just don't get why after years of this issue WG still has not made separate "received hits" slider.

So what my fix did was bypass the North-bridge (I think) and put the load (heat) directly into the card which was in theory able to run WoT at ultra settings.
good stuff thank you
Thanks I learned some new things!
@@13Disciple OK thanks for the info!
I got them backwards in the video. The pinned comment corrects the error.
What does the option "Display animation" in the menue "Battle Notification" mean?
I have a problem... when I am playing, I zoom in/out using the scroll button on my mouse, however, it is inverse, if i scroll forward, it zoom out and when I scroll backward it zoom in. Do you now how to change that configuration ?
Hoped this would help with the Loading Interface loop
this is a good video but WG has added more stuff like "Browser Acceleration Hardware". is that something thats needs to off or on??
Recommended by Guido, Recommended by Taugrim, why the hell did it take me so long to watch this video? No wonder I suck so bad 🤦♂️
Good stuff, Disciple.
Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll add this to my list of potential videos.
My friend you are awesome, thank you. Cheers! o7
Thanks for the help! What dpi setting do you like? I have my set to 700dpi and 900dpi
My DPI is set to 2400. You can set your DPI sensitivity high and then reduce your mouse sensitivity in windows to make it more sensitive to small movements.
@@13Disciple Thanks ok I set my mouse cursor speed in windows to 10 and set dpi to 2400. Let's see how much this helps.. thanks again
Im looking to remove or reduce the graphics setting on fire every time there is an allied vehicle that died in from of me the graphics for fire/flame and smoke is too much and gets distorted I cant see the enemy clearly its tilting
Nice video ! its me or you dont talk about FoV ? You have it setted to 120 degrees , can you expland why ?
I never changed it since installing the game TBH... 🤔
Is that not default?
Imagive having effects 100. I have it on like 15 and still when I get shot at while inside zoom my ear drums gets blown up. I would have to have effects on 5 to have normal sounding received hits, but then I don't hear any other effetcs. My own gun would literally be silent, but received hits would be normal. That is also annoying. I just don't get why after years of this issue WG still has not made separate "received hits" slider.
thx 13 just did what u saide well see but see your point thx again
Dont get me wrong , please. I meant when you are in the batlle , and above the damage indicator , it writes the percentage of excelence marks.
