WOW!! Thank you for this exercise that combines breathing and transverse abdominal muscles. Have just discovered MOVEU. This guy is a Master Teacher! Everyone will benefit from watching this video. He hits every possible angle of proper healthy breathing and how the TA muscle is intricately completely involved in breathing and necessary in the whole process. I have never heard of the connection before even when learning Yoga breathing which constantly stresses proper breathing! I have been a shallow breather all of my life, have listened to or watched how to breathe but never really got it. I learned early in life to contract or hold in my stomach every minute of my life. I became athletic and never learned this. Although I managed to do well in many respects, I had limited endurance and never knew why. Conversely I have spent many hours exercising my stomach muscles and never connected breathing with tightening the TA muscles. Combining with the transverse abdominal muscles, it makes so much more sense to me. This is an outstanding educational video.
Awesome. Thanks for teaching, how to breathe and improve oxygen! I feel so tired and stiff while sitting. Also after food. I'm able to do this breathing when sitting. Thanks again from India.
Actually, this is very good video about very important topic in powerlifting. Visualization and explanation was very easy to understand. These cues are very important and will be very beneficial especially for people, who lift heavy weights. Yours channel, for sure, is not first one talking about topic of role of correct breathing technique, but describes it in a best visual way. Thank you very much.
"Your shit is week. It's been week for 15 years!!!" LOL, I can't stop laughing!!! You're intensely awesome man. I wish people loved what they do as much as you do! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 🙂🙃😂🤣🙏
I like to refer to it as our natural "girdle"... lol! It's fantastic muscle and I love that you're emphasizing the importance and how magical this muscle can be when strengthened... 💪
I'm off to teach 6 people in a pilates reformer class. I love this video. Too many people don't deeply enough to engage the deep abdominals, even though I teach breath at the beginning of most sessions. I tell people to make the noise during exhale. Don't be self-conscious.
I'm 48 and only last year through PT did I realize what it meant to activate your core! It's the damn TVA--like why does no one explain this?! Anyway, great video and gave me a deeper understanding and a reminder that if I don't strengthen my shit, ie do my excercise, my back/thigh issue I had will come back.
I have a weak transverse abdominals. A forward pelvic tilt, and one tight/weak hip flexor thats driving me crazy with hip imbalance. I hope this breathing stuff helps. Best instruction I’ve seen.
Thankyou for such a great informative and helpful video... I request you to please recommend the number of sets and reps that should be done on a daily basis...
New to channel and hallelujah great demo 2022 Diagnosed with acute renal failure and multiple Myolyma well the chemo injection go direct into my core muscles over time has caused weakness and posture shoulder and neck is forward. But labs are good and I don't need chemo anymore now I can get my body strength back
You have been so awesome to learn from I gain great strides with every exercise you give for low back disk problems with sciatica I’ve been in insane debilitating pain constant acute episodes most of the week been going on for months when I started physical therapy the exercises like clam shell really sent me into more pain with the glutes and sides. Ok today is a little better so I’m able to practice these..it’s a bad flare up I had shingles and ever since then it’s been irritated and pain beyond what I can explain. But what I wanted to say is how useful these are but also how much I love your energy i love the demonstrations with the body paint and I think you’re hilarious and it means a lot to make me laugh when I’m in this kind of pain so just, thank you, thank you, thank you. I am working with entire structural change. It’s intense.
Thank you so much! I ended up finding out today the pain isn’t from the lower spine but rather a tumor growing next to the spinal cord more near L2 and 3 I believe. I have to decide tomorrow on operating. I’d been in so many ERs with agonizing pain and every time the staff would be worse..eventually telling me don’t bother showing up at the ER. Even when I came there with bowl and urine problems. When I couldn’t walk..AT ALL. Most intense pressure shooting down my leg got an ambulance they sent me home again..never doing an MRI at that hospital. And I was beating myself up believing I could exercise it away..with gradually building movement and strength. By doing a water fast for 10 days hoping that would get the swelling down. Lost 30 pounds in 3 months but the ER never looked at my weight they did not get my weight ever. But I guess the growth may have been there a long time, maybe since birth. I’ll look forward to doing my rebuilding with your videos because they are great exercises very helpful but I guess the mass they’ll be putting me on the table. Aye. Freaking out some
I surprised myself and did a diaphram breath. I still have a decent core but had a surgery and they cut em open. Im trying to figure out what is going on so i can correct things. I knew quite a bit of the info you gave but youre so damn entertaining that i watched more. Lol. ❤ Ty for making me laugh and teaching peeps how to make themselves better.
Can’t a weak core cause chronic heel pain? I’m guessing my feet are doing the work that my core should be doing? I’ve had an MRI and my feet looked fine. A weak core has to be the reason, right?? Great video. Thank you!
Personal care providers say absolutely NOTHING about this until WE bring the symptoms to THEIR attention. By then we have to go into therapy or surgical corrective procedure! Medical colleges need to update their training curriculums.
Is there a workout that includes everything? Pilates addresses most of this. What can you do to address functional leg length discrepancy in a workout? Thank you 🙏
We have workout PDFs for each of our programs as well as some follow along workouts in our membership. Our programs are all about addressing imbalances that affect leg length - start with Back & Core and follow with Hips & Glutes!
Just to add my own two cents. Took me a long time to find the right person to say, no, your LLD is functional, not structural, and imma correct it for ya. She moved my bones. Moved the pelvis. And my hip hike is virtually gone. I may have 1 o 2 mm right hip here and there but that is because of my tight QL on my right side. You can address it with using the muscles to move the bones or find someone to move the bones for you. If it holds, then using the muscles to move the bones a bit here and there will be easier.
When should we realise the Snap? never? how is the Snap integrated in abdominal breathing with in and out movement while inhalation and exhalation? thanks for considering
Pilates will help this. The beginning movements focus on engaging your powerhouses including TA. Real pilates teaches you the fundamentals including the breathing. If you have a real pilates instructor it is worth every penny. Your body will be changed.
Skateboarding eventually developed all my core muscles. Foot and ankle and skeletal alignment comes with it. I did the visual and I just bent over and touched my toes.i transvered
I only been doin these 4days and my stomach dont hang out no more! These are legit game changer. I was wondering why bodybuilders made their self look anorexic* when posing so i googled and now im on trac, this instructor wildn bit handsy eh😂😅
This is so underrated! Breathing and ribcage positioning isn’t talked about enough. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🫡
"zomg breathing is so literally arguably underrated"
Yes and it helps a lot for mommy pouch also after c section
Him: "If you have made it this far, your shit's weak!"

Can anyone please explain the first exercise? Not sure I got it.
Wow. I am breathing form my belly and I never do. I feel like this is from stress/ trauma. I feel like I stopped breathing lol
The drawing made it very helpful
Is our pelvic floor relaxed or "snapped" too during the breathing while core engaged?
🎉Thank you!!!!🌟🌟🌟
When should we realise the Snap? never? how is the Snap integrated in abdominal breathing with in and out movement while inhalation and exhalation? thanks for considering
Just through this video my core feels like I’ve worked out

Is this program beneficial for equestrians ?? Does it help with riding ?
Amazing!
Great video
Thanks!
Pilates is good for this right?
Years of pilates and barre classes and im very sad to realize how weak my TA is.
Fairly well done. But, left some important stuff out. Hint, co-activation of mid and low trunk muscle groups.
Get over yourself.
If I were to implement these exercises into a daily routine, how many reps would you recommend for an average person?
3 sets of 8-10 is always a good general rule
@@MoveU thank you!
Skateboarding eventually developed all my core muscles. Foot and ankle and skeletal alignment comes with it.
I did the visual and I just bent over and touched my toes.i transvered

Thanks Dr Mike! Have you ever seen an inguinal hernia be healed using this method?
If it's due to core weakness or lack of ability to manage intra abdominal pressure, yes!
Awesome! thank you!
I only been doin these 4days and my stomach dont hang out no more! These are legit game changer. I was wondering why bodybuilders made their self look anorexic* when posing so i googled and now im on trac, this instructor wildn bit handsy eh😂😅

frank zane and arnold schwartzaneger did "vacuming" by pulling in the abdomen while posing on stage. Is that also strengthening the tva?
Essentially, yes.
