iColor 650 White Toner DTF Setup

Today we are setting up the iColor 650 White Toner DTF Printer. Do not be confused by the universal "DTF" name DTF means Direct to film and white toner printers do in fact print directly onto a film. DTF is widely popular because of ink dtf printers. White Toner Printers are NOT ink printers they utilize Toner powder which requires no maintenance unlike traditional ink DTF printers. I am so excited about this series. I have been patiently waiting since you mentioned it a few videos ago!! 🙌🏻 I had a DTF printer and sold it so I could get a white toner printer. I did not do daily printing and hated the maintenance part of DTF. But my customers on occasion do ask for prints so I want to be able to accommodate. 😃

This reminds me of something you said a few videos ago regarding embroidery … the same might be true here- will anyone really ask what machine you made the dtf on?? I’m stuck between the low maintenance of the white toner and the feel and speed of the dtf.

No. Unfortunately I don’t not sure if any white toner can print 16” wide. You could always use the split feature though.

I have a 560; and am starting to print again; have you or anyone experienced worn / aged prints, where as they should be solid and bright ?? I’m experiencing that now and am very frustrated. I’m doing the overprint, so i have a white background.

Prints coming directly from the printer? You have to adjust the color levels to get your image to pop. You also have to have the correct color profile in your artwork. I think exporting CMYK and not RGB is also a factor.

Referring to a white toner printer as a DTF printer is, at the very least, confusing to people new or unfamiliar with either method. DTF is generally used across the board to describe an ink printing process. No one that has been doing white toner will refer to it as DTF. iColors line of DTF printers would make for a balanced comparison. Nice video overall.

I understand what you are saying. It can be confusing that’s why I put what I put in the description. Exactly what you just said. I know you didn’t read it but no big deal. We should all read more so things can be clear. All the information is there if we would read. Question for you though. What does dtf stand for? DTF what is it short for? Does white toner do that?

@@adubbproductions This is a video site. People come here to watch videos. A vast majority of viewers are not expecting that is required to read a description to clarify misdirection in the title. I read the description, and watched the video. Both of which made the title seem even more misleading. DTF is understood to describe the process, not just the medium. Conflating that with the white toner process is simply confusing for most people new to the technologies. Debating implicit contradictions is unconstructive.
