Omg, the accuracy and the silencing effect is amazing! I have four, two rapidstrike and two stryfe cages. If your a "serious" nerfer with a love for flywheels I'd highly recommend them.
it's a snikkas cage, it's the quality of the cage and how beautifully it's made and not how well it works. you put a snikkas cage in your blaster just to say that it has a snikkas cage, it's like owning a lamborghini, your never going to shut up about having one.
C t g s l a y e r yes there is and to be honest I am very impressed and extremely interested in getting one of these to review does anyone know where to buy and how much?
Its too bad that there is not any sonic ice or any other clear type flywheel blasters, I think that cage would so bad ass in a clear blue shell. I have never really been into flywheel mods/blasters but that cage is awesome.
great video bobo i love it when you make everything official it does look like a purty piece of metal... maybe a clear polycarb window on the inside of the shell? then light it with some LEDs?
sillybutts dacs mid guide shows the modulus has a different shaped flywheel cage and set up not sure if this could fit in that... Would be good though!
Finally got mine in the mail, I own No. 029 for a Stryfe now. Only need to wait for the rest of the parts. Will be mounting a pair of MTB Rhino's in it with a 3S Li-Po. Not sure if I'll paint the Blaster, not yet at least. (Also no idea what theme would be cool on it, and if I want to base it on any existing (fictional) weapon.)
This RS Version will NOT easy work in a Stryfe! He makes them for Stryfe AND RS so far and they just fit in perfect. Unscrew the stock FWC, screw in the DrS FWC. Set! (I know, because i have both...) The FWC for Rayven, Stockade and probably Modulus are in the making atm. Thanks for the video and keep up your work!
Hey Bobo, I just got cage #53! I have one quick question for you. How do you secure the motors? They are way too loose for a press fit. Do you have to use the screws at the bottom? If so, what motors have screw ports like that?
+CmdrRoot Press fit in metal wouldn't be good- you have to use the screws. Look into getting hobby motors like 'Blade' 180s. Search for EFLH1210, EFLH1211, EFLH1210B, or EFLH1211B. They have screw mounts (You'll need to remove the pinion that comes on them). MakeTestBattle's Rhino motors have them too.
Now I wonder, since this one does have screws (where they're suppose to be!) to mount the engine to, will it be much easier to install brushless engines with round cans? Just imagine it with brushless inrunners... Although perhaps the RPM might get so high that it might shred darts apart...
IAmBobololo Hmm, that's what I was afraid of, I do have the know-how though to set it up as I also work with radio controlled airplanes and multirotors, pricing isn't necessarily an issue either with sites like hobbyking, but yeah, I imagine it would reach destroy darts rather than just shooting them far. Also another question, do you have any idea in what country/state the seller is located? I live in the Netherlands myself, so I fear I would pay a fair bit more just to get it shipped... I might have to send an e-mail to Dr. Snikkas.
+Meep255 Depends on what battery you're using and whether or not you mind cutting the shell to accommodate the motors. Falcons/MTB Rhinos perform optimally on a 3S LiPo while 180s do well with a 2S. 180s will an opening in the shell around the motor cage so they will fit.
Mogulous when you get one is worthy only if you give it a paint job lmao, or take a rapidstrike, stryfe, rayven or can shot and put a clear plastic shell around the area of the wheeld
Mine came with an appropriate connector. For ones that don't, find a laptop charger that meets the correct specs and solder the correct connector to it. Not sure what charger you have, but that's what you do.
The "S" stands for 'series' or how many cells are connected in series (positive to negative). Each cell is said to be 3.7v with a max charge of 4.2v. So 1S = 3.7v, 2S = 7.4v, etc etc Dots were made by making a dot in a 1080p sized canvas in photoshop, exported as a PNG with transparent background, and brought into Adobe Premiere.
LiPo and Hellcats. LiPos provide more amperage than any other battery source, which is what motors like. The initial investment for a charger, wire, switches, and first battery is higher than any other, BUT you will outperform and outlast IMRs, Trustfires, and alkalines. Hellcats are a 3S motors with a great deal of torque- this means super fast spin up times and consistent rate of fire without the flywheels slowing down. Do some research into LiPos before considering them, but they're the best platform for flywheel Nerfing.
+Xander Cage Yes, you do need to cut the shell for Hellcats to fit, but the benefits of Hellcats vastly outweighs the negatives of cutting out room for them.
+Xander Cage Sure thing! Compared to Rhinos, and other 130 sized motors, Hellcats have higher torque which means faster spin up and less RPM loss when shooting full auto/ shooting fast. In my opinion, having to cut the shell for the motors to fit isn't a real excuse for not using superior motors... if you have the batteries for it.
accuracy change seems decent. Now if only there was an alternative to using streamlines... I'd love to see how it'd go with darts with heavier sili tips or koosh darts
+Joe Chen If you are using RM2s, please stop doing so. They're very fragile motors and not good for this hobby. Carbon brushed stock motors are a better choice than RM2s. They also don't have the torque for use in this flywheel cage. Ultrafires can work... but not well. For best performance, LiPo is the way to go with this.
+Joe Chen Like Bobololo said, Li-Po's, they deliver the Amps you need! Also, you might want to check into the MTB Rhino's which are a project that is running succesfully by Make Test Battle. They actually managed to bring a good performing 3S 130 size motor on the market that's well distributed. A major plus I find is that they don't require shell cutting since they're 130 size.
I'm not too huge into flywheels, but I have 2 RapidStrikes and I really wanna overhaul one just for gits and shiggles At the same time, I don't want to pay more just for the flywheel cage than the gun itself...
Thibaut De Doncker Mabuchi FK-3420 (Blade 180s) Xtreme Pro 180s were used for the photo only, but I will be using those for the final blaster I put this in.
7:52 proves that the RapidStrike is completely inaccurate I realize some of this is due to the darts' limitations, but even a Stryfe can shoot more accurately than that.
Nerf Nerd64 Nope. But honestly you don't need full auto too much, unless you're cqb. But if you're going to go as far as replacing the flywheel cage with a metal one, odds are you're going to remove all (or most) of the locks whilst modding it. A Stryfe can fire just as fast as you can cycle the trigger, so if you really need to get spammy just pull the trigger as fast as possible.
Nerf Nerd64 I guess it's okay for CQB but not much elsewhere. With some practice you can do it just as easily, but oh well. Stryfe is just a lot cheaper to buy and to modify.
Bobo I have sent an email out and need to know how to get one. It's exactly what I have been looking for in my rapidstrike. I will pay whatever it takes to get one made. Let me know if I need to do anything else to buy one
The "S" stands for 'series'. So a 2S LiPo is 2 cells (think of a cell as a single battery, like a AA) in series. This makes it 7.4 nominal voltage. A 3S has 3 cells in series at 11.1v.
Just looked up how much this thing costs(site was a little winky on my phone). But it says the cage is 70,00 (sign for euros I think). I googled it and it said it was $8000 in American dollars.....wth....did I miss something.
+Mike Smith Where did you hear this? I have tried to contact him (Dr. Snikkas) to order one, I have not heard back. So maybe it is true. Just curious. I would like to eventually get one (or a few). It would be unfortunate if indeed they are no longer made.
+Nevadazielmeister He goes quiet every now and then. Not sure what's going on now, but be patient. I've been giving his email out at least once every 2 days or so. I'm sure he's backlogged quite a bit.
pickles632 I think I look visibly exhausted by the end of the video. Lots of shooting, testing, charging, script writing, etc etc At least it's a good video to come back with :)
Randomusly Generator Those weren’t a thing five years ago I don’t believe. There really damn nice and were top of the line at the time. I’d still say their damn good now.
Randomusly Generator: Being able to drill a door knob sized target at 60ish meters floats my boat just fine. Variable crush cages weren’t a thing and there were 4(?) options for flywheels. Things have changed....
I know. Hasbro/Nerf calls them 'clips' so technically (in this hobby) it's not incorrect... but we know they're actually magazines. Fun fact: The Magstrike uses clips, but has "mag" in its name. Weird.
9:00 - The Dart WarZ Dart Quality Test.
Also, the Party Hard sticker magically appearing between shots.
Omg, the accuracy and the silencing effect is amazing! I have four, two rapidstrike and two stryfe cages. If your a "serious" nerfer with a love for flywheels I'd highly recommend them.

I am one of the *first* people to have this item. I'm honored :)
C t g s l a y e r yes there is and to be honest I am very impressed and extremely interested in getting one of these to review does anyone know where to buy and how much?
IAmBobololo where can we get one?
WizardSonmanerf There's a reason why you should always check description boxes.
sry i was being ignorant i didn't realize
steven hafemeister You're fine. I added an annotation just to be clear :)
That's cool. I'm impressed by the amount of work that went into this video. It does seem to improve accuracy as much as one can in a Nerf blaster.
Its too bad that there is not any sonic ice or any other clear type flywheel blasters, I think that cage would so bad ass in a clear blue shell. I have never really been into flywheel mods/blasters but that cage is awesome.
Hail fire?
great video bobo i love it when you make everything official it does look like a purty piece of metal... maybe a clear polycarb window on the inside of the shell? then light it with some LEDs?
That would be kewl. Maybe in a modulus
sillybutts dacs mid guide shows the modulus has a different shaped flywheel cage and set up not sure if this could fit in that... Would be good though!
Toamastar15 actually, I watched that and I think with just a little bit of epoxy putty and some she'll cutting, it would work!
dracs mod guide** stupid fingers...
fair enough sillybutts never thought i would say that in my life....
Finally got mine in the mail, I own No. 029 for a Stryfe now. Only need to wait for the rest of the parts. Will be mounting a pair of MTB Rhino's in it with a 3S Li-Po. Wild Sau It looked like it would fit. My bad! I'll add an annotation.
Wow. Those groupings are TIGHT!
Hey Bobo, I just got cage #53! I have one quick question for you. How do you secure the motors? They are way too loose for a press fit. Do you have to use the screws at the bottom? If so, what motors have screw ports like that?
+CmdrRoot
Press fit in metal wouldn't be good- you have to use the screws.
+IAmBobololo Thank you!
can you do a video on the 3d printed ones?
You're right that's an amazing piece, but if you wanna see it maybe there's a way to put a transparent window to the shell of a blaster?
Maybe a piece of polycarbonate on the outside, covering a hole in the shell.
I wonder if this would work with the modulus.
That's awesome as to how well it works.
Are you shipping to Brazil?
Would you need a scar barrel if the motor already creates the spin?
Johnson Kwong scars probably don't work in flywheelers
Can you do a 4 flywheel setup with two of these cages
Can you make a Elite XD rapidstrike sleeper?
Now I wonder, since this one does have screws (where they're suppose to be!) to mount the engine to, will it be much easier to install brushless engines with round cans? Just imagine it with brushless inrunners... Although perhaps the RPM might get so high that it might shred darts apart...
Hionimi Brushless revvs much too high to be useful with nerf darts. And more expensive and more complicated to set up compared to brushed motors.

Hionimi He is located in Germany.
IAmBobololo That's good news in my case! :) I'll shoot Snikkas a Dart... Err, e-mail! :P
Hey Bobo, what's your input about Deans vs XT60 connectors? Also, how much did this cost? I imagine it wasn't cheap at all.
Will Stoller Check Hobbyking, dirt cheap, soldering skills not included. :v
you can get like a pack for 3 US dollars
Im newer to nerf modding whats better for a rapidstrike Falcon Motors or 180s?
+Meep255 Depends on what battery you're using and whether or not you mind cutting the shell to accommodate the motors.
Falcons/MTB Rhinos perform optimally on a 3S LiPo while 180s do well with a 2S.
180s will an opening in the shell around the motor cage so they will fit.
I will be using worker flywheels with MTB rhinos in a stock cage for the modulus will I need a aftermarket cage?
twinkleberrytech what is running the rhinos?
efest imrs
Depends how long do you want it to last
Is this cage the exact same size as the Stryfe's cage?
+DraconisMarchVII
It's slightly different and won't worth with the Stryfe. I corrected myself with an annotation.
Mogulous when you get one is worthy only if you give it a paint job lmao, or take a rapidstrike, stryfe, rayven or can shot and put a clear plastic shell around the area of the wheeld
If you put some texture on the stock flywheels, would they work better?, like a rough sanding
+megaman616 Yes. An even better alternative is the resin people use for violin bows.
+Dapstart Animations : Maybe, but rosin dust doesn't strike me as being very play-friendly...
I see your point.
Very good quality video, very informative. The work you put into this video shows. Thanks bobo!
What connector do you use to connect your lipo charger to the wall socket? Any suggestions?
Mine came with an appropriate connector.
For ones that don't, find a laptop charger that meets the correct specs and solder the correct connector to it. Not sure what charger you have, but that's what you do.
I'd appreciate it if you didn't spam questions across my videos. You can always email me with them.
k thanks sry
Newbie here. What is the S in the 1,2,3?
And how did you made the dots on the board in Post?
The "S" stands for 'series' or how many cells are connected in series (positive to negative). Each cell is said to be 3.7v with a max charge of 4.2v. So 1S = 3.7v, 2S = 7.4v, etc etc
Dots were made by making a dot in a 1080p sized canvas in photoshop, exported as a PNG with transparent background, and brought into Adobe Premiere.
thank you :)
Damn!! puttting in the dots was a long process!!! :(
Nah, just a bunch of layers of dots moved around. Not too bad :)
What's the best motors, flywheels, flywheel cage, and battery combinations in terms of price to performance?
LiPo and Hellcats.
LiPos provide more amperage than any other battery source, which is what motors like. The initial investment for a charger, wire, switches, and first battery is higher than any other, BUT you will outperform and outlast IMRs, Trustfires, and alkalines.
Hellcats are a 3S motors with a great deal of torque- this means super fast spin up times and consistent rate of fire without the flywheels slowing down.
Do some research into LiPos before considering them, but they're the best platform for flywheel Nerfing.
But, Bobo. Wouldn't you need to cut the shell and get a motor cover to utilize hellcat motors in Rapidstrikes and Stryfes?
+Xander Cage
Yes, you do need to cut the shell for Hellcats to fit, but the benefits of Hellcats vastly outweighs the negatives of cutting out room for them.
IAmBobololo, do you mind if I ask you to elaborate on that statement?
+Xander Cage
Sure thing!
I use a worker flywheel cage and the bullets got ripped up how can I prevent that
Might not want to put bullets in there, ba dum sshhh.
What wheels, which cage specifically, and what mods?
does the dart enter on the brass side or exit out the brass side?
+Thomas Fellenbaum Exits out through the brass.
Supposedly, the brass helps align the darts better.
I'd love to run with them but I'm terrified to think about the price.
accuracy change seems decent. Now if only there was an alternative to using streamlines...
I'd love to see how it'd go with darts with heavier sili tips or koosh darts
+Chaos-Blades I need to get around to making that video :\
I bet Koosh and FVJs would do really well out of it.
+IAmBobololo i'd luke to see that. i did find coop did some koosh darts in his review
Any idea if these are still available?
MrGWillickers drs-performance.com
how much money was used to buy it
Will this fit INSUTANTO
flywheels?Thank you
It comes with its own wheels. There's really no point in using other wheels with it, and they probably won't fit properly.
Do you have to use lipos and powerful motors? Couldn't you use something like Rm2s and ultrafires?
+Joe Chen
If you are using RM2s, please stop doing so. They're very fragile motors and not good for this hobby. Carbon brushed stock motors are a better choice than RM2s.
They also don't have the torque for use in this flywheel cage. Ultrafires can work... but not well. For best performance, LiPo is the way to go with this.

They actually managed to bring a good performing 3S 130 size motor on the market that's well distributed. A major plus I find is that they don't require shell cutting since they're 130 size.
Thanks guys but Mina they DO require shell modification in a rapidstrike.
I also don't like lipo's only because of the initial investment like you mentioned in your battery guide.
Rhino's don't require shell modification, and really, it costs more, but Li-Po's are worth it, performance will be better and generally more reliable.
Great Vid Bobo!
I'm not too huge into flywheels, but I have 2 RapidStrikes and I really wanna overhaul one just for gits and shiggles
At the same time, I don't want to pay more just for the flywheel cage than the gun itself...
id like to see this with the accustrike darts
I think the rhino fire would make a good platform for a double version of this
Where can I get one
which motors do u use in this video?
Thibaut De Doncker Mabuchi FK-3420 (Blade 180s)
Xtreme Pro 180s were used for the photo only, but I will be using those for the final blaster I put this in.
can someone link to a guide to installing a lipo into a stryfe?
+billna billy MakeTestBattle has a video.
IAmBobololo Thanks! Your super helpful!
Yes, there is a version made for the stryfe, that is the same price.
7:52 proves that the RapidStrike is completely inaccurate
I realize some of this is due to the darts' limitations, but even a Stryfe can shoot more accurately than that.
Is the stryfe fully automatic though.
I do cqb though and it is a lot easier to hold down the trigger for full auto than to finger bang your stryfe
Nerf Nerd64 I guess it's okay for CQB but not much elsewhere. With some practice you can do it just as easily, but oh well. Stryfe is just a lot cheaper to buy and to modify.
price and buy link? im really interested in those
I state the price in the video. Link in the description which also has prices.
+IAmBobololo oh sorry! im new and not english so i do not hear things as well as other people! thanks for commenting back!😃
Will this work with fang revamped?
Yes.
IAmBobololo thank you
What motors do you recommend for this?
Where do the motor screws come from?
+Gabriel Doudna Sometimes with the motors. I'm sure you can buy them from hobby sites.
+IAmBobololo Thanks :)
Bobo I have sent an email out and need to know how to get one. It's exactly what I have been looking for in my rapidstrike. I will pay whatever it takes to get one made. Let me know if I need to do anything else to buy one
Can you fit the cage in itself without cutting
what is the difference between 3s and 2s li-po's?
The "S" stands for 'series'. So a 2S LiPo is 2 cells (think of a cell as a single battery, like a AA) in series. This makes it 7.4 nominal voltage.
A 3S has 3 cells in series at 11.1v.
ah ok thanks.
See through section of the shell to show it off
3s metal cage is badass!
Just looked up how much this thing costs(site was a little winky on my phone). But it says the cage is 70,00 (sign for euros I think). I googled it and it said it was $8000 in American dollars.....wth....did I miss something.
In Europe, the comma and period are switched (79,99 is $79.99 over here). It's 70Euros and with shipping it's about $100USD total.
Will the MTB Hellcats fit in this cage?
Yes, but they will need to be screwed into place.
does this mean all my darts are going to break when I shoot my strayven?
NERF + HEAVY METAL = HEAVY METAL NERF (ALSO KNOWNS AS WIN). I *fully* support you in your endeavors for somehow displaying this gem through a gun!!!
Is the snikkas cage still for sale. I have heard that he isn't selling anymore. Please tell me that he is still selling( money is of no issue).
+Mike Smith As far as I know, he's still taking orders.
Thanks for the info. How can i get in contact with dr snikkas?
+Mike Smith Where did you hear this? I have tried to contact him (Dr. Snikkas) to order one, I have not heard back. So maybe it is true. Just curious. I would like to eventually get one (or a few). It would be unfortunate if indeed they are no longer made.
+Nevadazielmeister
He goes quiet every now and then. Not sure what's going on now, but be patient. I've been giving his email out at least once every 2 days or so. I'm sure he's backlogged quite a bit.
Yeh, I hear ya, I was just curious where Mr. Smith might have heard this info. Thank you.
wow you put a lot of effort into this video. it was great!
pickles632 I think I look visibly exhausted by the end of the video. Lots of shooting, testing, charging, script writing, etc etc
At least it's a good video to come back with :)
Sweet shirt
That modded rapidstrike would be so good in a war
Can this fit normal flywheels?
I think it can. But why would you want to do that?
What are these red dots in the box
Kostas Honros Thoise are just red dots made in Photoshop. It's to give a better visualization of the dart cluster.
Will this fit in a Rayven?
+DEATH04066 This one only fits the Rapidstrike.
+IAmBobololo
ok, thanks! :)
+DEATH04066 You can order them for a Stryfe and Rapidstrike, DrSnikkas also said in a mail to me that he is working on a version for the Rayven.
+Mina Darsh what about a modulus?
Ethan Frosty Nothing on that that I know of. :o
You should try to use a 6s lipo pack and see what happens
+matt penny Burn the motors out in under 30 seconds and waste money buying a battery I'll never need
Is the circuit board a needed
If you mean the ones on the motors, no. I always remove anything connected to the motors so you get as clean of a connection as possible.
how much is this before I come in contact with the Doctor so I won't look stupid by saying I can't afford it or something like that
joshua marti I say at the end.
Ok sorry for the inconvenience
+joshua marti (pandajam7) Its $45 usd or 40 eros (sorry about the misspell)
+Jennifer Chan 70EUR*
OH poo
also 0_0 U U U U Comment on my comment!? I feel Happy...... lol
nice, a nerf modder and a folk metal fan.
does this for in the stores
sorry meant zues
+zavian groff No.
i wouldn't say tilted, i would say angled
1:00
How much does it run?
+michael mandella I say at 11:20
Does this accept stock motors
Jack Kuckhahn Probably not. Unless they have a mounting hole on the bottom, they won't be secure.
You'd want to be using better motors anyway.
To see the fly wheel cage why not cut a hole where it is the put polycarbonate plates there
Take my money!!! I want one for my rapid pistol, one for my rapid smg, and one for a stryfe!
I'd rather take some MTB flywheels to reduce vibration.
Randomusly Generator Those weren’t a thing five years ago I don’t believe. There really damn nice and were top of the line at the time. I’d still say their damn good now.
K, whatever floats your boat man.
Randomusly Generator: Being able to drill a door knob sized target at 60ish meters floats my boat just fine. Variable crush cages weren’t a thing and there were 4(?) options for flywheels. Things have changed....
Ikr, the community has grown significantly
How much does it cost?
Zilberg A You should always watch until the end ;)
70EUR.
Bobololo next time put the blaster into a vice. Keeps the blaster a still as possible.
eli moore Don't have one, nor want to buy one just to use a few times.
Ok. Thanks for the reply.
you know when you cut off a few things you notice one thing that is different I'm wonder who can guess what it is
its so simple a bobo could do it
when you making the motor covers make clear
Can someone tell me what 2s...etc mean?
+Makazuki Tsuki
2S means there are 2* battery cells in series*- 2S.
A 2S LiPo is equal to 7.4v.
Thanks man.
+Makazuki Tsuki then a 3s is I think 11.1 volts the other battery he was using
Is this GEN 3?
Considering the date is from two years ago, I would say most likely GEN 1.
7:48 dart got stuck
that 3s sound tho
that 3s is scary if i was a zombie i would think someone was smacking people with a vacume claener
that was one of the best reviews i ever saw.
thanks for all the work you put in it!
blasted.de FTW!!! :)
Nice shirt
Woo woop A+ product
Science!!!
you said clip...
You disappoint me.
sonic or clear rapidstrike to see through it
Mailed him, but still no reply after a week or so, guess he is getting quite a few requests... :o
I'm in love!
yea new bobo vid!
*sonic ice flywheels a future thing,
I want one
Nice
Magzine its a magazine
I know. Hasbro/Nerf calls them 'clips' so technically (in this hobby) it's not incorrect... but we know they're actually magazines. Fun fact: The Magstrike uses clips, but has "mag" in its name. Weird.
IAmBobololo the battle scout and stratabow uses them too
