You asked for suggestions so *cracks knuckles* Chou Chou Akimichi and Anko Mitarashi from Boruto, I've also seen plus sized cosplays of large chested characters like Tsunade and Hinata from the Naruto/Boruto series. Inko Midoriya from My Hero Academia, and others cosplay Ochaco and Momo from My Hero as plus sized as well. Bowsette, a humanized female Bowser from the Mario games, is also popular. Sakura Ogami from Danganronpa, though I've seen characters like Chiaki and Kaede also cosplayed. Melony and Wicke from the Pokemon games. Dungeon Meshi has a number of them, its currently a manga but said there will be an anime later. Namari, Dia, Inutade/Tade, and Leed are all plus sized, some of them humanoid monster folk. Saotomi from Plastic Neesan, Noi from Dorohedoro, Risley Law from Fairy Tale, Sister Chrone from The Promised Neverland, and Nikuko from Oshiete Galko-chan are others from anime as well. And for non-anime suggestions, there's Luisa from Encanto, Willow from The Owl House, Bee from Bee and Puppycat, Mylene and Sabine from Miraculous Ladybug, Pike and Lady Kima from The Legends of Vox Machina
@@HerRoliness You're welcome! As a plus size femme myself, I've done a lot of my own research for cosplay lol. Another character from Pokemon is Lenora, for black plus size cosplay, I forgot her earlier For western cartoons there's also the Total Drama series. It has a lot of body diversity for both male and female characters. Katie, Eva, Sugar, Staci, MacArthur, Tammy, Taylor. And there's Leshawna and Sierra for black/brown POC. Other suggestions for franchises would be humanized designs for My Little Pony characters, their colors/patterns are easily recognizable.
Can thicker girls cosplay as boy characters too? I've seen a few do it but I don't know how to hide my chest, I was just going to use a sports bra and the thing people say not to use which is stretchy bandage thing, but just not make it super tight where I can't breathe, and a binder is pretty much risky too like the stretchy bandage so I might as well use the stretchy bandage, it's cheaper 🤔
Absolutely! For male characters, as well as trying to minimise the chest (but please, do be safe, stick with the sports bra or a good quality binder) try to make your overall shape more masculine by emphasising the shoulders, squaring the jawline, etc. Also, as I emphasise way too much, just have fun. If you want to be a more "accurate" male character, pick one that is also larger cos that enables you to pad out the stomach area for a more chubby but masculine silhouette, but more than that just have fun with the character ^__^
