I understand what you were saying about playing the raven early, but with rodentologist that was a nine-point play. To me it was a no-brainer.

why would it not be a 9 point play at any part of the game though? or do I not understand your point

Wouldn't playing the Grosbeak as your Magpie bird have made more sense? 5 pts plus two tucks + 2 rodentologist + 2 falconer = 11 points (same loss from the eggs) versus the Kia which gave you 9 total points (5 + new bonus of 4) minus the eggs?

Kia had to be the magpie bird of those two options cause grosbeak can only be played in the forest but the magpie specifies that the bird you play must go in the grasslands. However, i do think he could've gotten the grosbeak down before the owl and then gotten food and that would have avoided overpaying like he did. Would've missed a couple tucks on the ruff but I still think it would be well worth it for the 8 points in bonuses to get both the owl and grosbeak down

​@@trevorbodan7571 I think he didn't play Goshawk because then he would've been one egg short of activating Magpie Lark's game-end power. if it were me, I think I would've just taken the Goshawk points and forgotten about gambling with Magpie Lark + Kea.
