    hi have the same teac 10'5 deck my one has a bad power unit
    now some will not like what i am saying
    i have a otari mtr12 it has 3 speed why did i get it because i was coming in to alot of master 1/2 1/4 tapes zonel tapes
    and the otari was set up for 1/2 4 track thing is i was getting alot of bad 1/4 tapes coming my way and they were a right pain to deal with
    so i now only take in 1/2 tape i do have set of head block and rollers i change overt for jobs
    not i have a 238 cassette deck that can pay back cassette tape at 3 3/4 7 1/2 ips alot of my gear has been jazz up big time
    as they were not right when i got them the 238 i have i been having bad servo's all the time i went back to belt drive
    and now it's running like a dream now
    when you buy used gear alot of it will need work i work on 40 betacam sp decks i have 40 plus of them same with the digi one's
    only lady here is my cats they love to sit on the hotdecks love the video bob

      Definitely true... old equipment requires a lot of work. But that's part of the fun, right?

      I've always had an affinity for tape, but I do like records, too. I got rid of my nice turntable and collection decades ago and always regretted it. Slowly building it back up though.
