His problem was that he started with the lever fully closed which caused him to push the softness of the taper way too high
Actually no, his problem is he needs to flick his wrist more on the guidelines flicking outwards motion. He sets them too harsh which causes the blend to go that high. He needs patience as well he’ll get it soon.

Let’s be honest, this haircut is 0/10. But in his defense, the Edgar cut with those goofy bangs that these takuaches like getting isn’t an easy cut. Especially for a beginner. Blending into that bulk up top needs some serious clipper over comb and texture sheer work for it to look clean. Hope this cat doesn’t give up and keeps working on his craft.
