I've had bad experiences with Fireline when using it to make bracelets using bicone crystals. In time, the Fireline will break when using it for bracelets. I've had too many of them come back to me to be repaired. I've recently discovered Nanofil and the new kid on the block, Dragon thread. The verdict is out for those two, but so far they appear to be working well. Just a little insight there. Thanks for the informative video.

I have the same problem. Every bracelet made with fireline or wildfire broke when used with crystals.Which one is your favorite, if you don't mind me asking?

@@ely42609They have a new thread on Potomac Bead Company called Dragon Thread. It's relatively new, but from what I've learned so far, it appears to be very good. I got size 8, and it is strong. Also, Nanofil size 10 appears to be good, but I've heard they're about to discontinue that. But it is still available on Fire Mountain Gems.

Nymo D, also the toho One G, and the fire line. All my favorites I get the nymo on a large cone for my loom beading, looming with miyuki beads can take a lot of thread so yes the cone is the way to go, at least for me. 😂 Tfs

Thanks for sharing your favorites, Karen! It's amazing how much thread you can go through with just one project!

Wow! You look like a very young Julia Roberts. I have never done beading but I would like to make seed bead stretchy rings and maybe bracelts. Can you recommend a very durable but stretchy thread for a newbie? Also, I am considering a loom kit for seed beading. Do you recommend a regular one or the electric? Can you tell me what tools I might need to do this that may not be included in a kit? Ty.

Thank you! Elonga is a good stretch cord for rings and bracelets. Here is 0.3mm size, but it does come in other sizes: artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/beadalon-elonga-multi-strand-stretch-cord-0-3mm/ We love The Ricks Beading Loom and you can watch our video for how to use that loom here: artbeads.com/video-tutorials/ricks-beading-loom-basics/

@@ArtbeadsVideos That loom seems very frustrating even to watch someone else working on. There are no divets for each thread, trying to keep that plastic ruler from sliding while working, too many moving parts that don't seem to serve the loomer appropriately. Thanks but I will have to keep shopping around.

Could you please share some of the ideas for when you would prefer to use the Miyuki Beading Nylon Thread over other projects? for example, would it work best with making fringe earrings? Thank you!

What if you have large heavy beads? I want my necklace to last and not break? So, I guess I need to know what's the best one to avoid breaks?

    Wonderfully informative!
Would you have a suggestion on which of those would be best for tassels? I’m trying to find something durable, but not too stiff (and I’ve found that sewing thread is messy.) I’m a newbie and very much appreciate and knowledge shared. THANKS!

Are you looking to make beaded tassels or just thread tassels? We like One-G for beaded tassels and for making your own thread tassels, we've used griffin silk with great success: artbeads.com/design-studio/lunasa-crescent-necklace-with-pink-tassels/ as well as S-Lon: artbeads.com/design-studio/rosewood-brick-stitch-and-tassels-earrings/

Hello, I have a consecrated Rudraksha bead from India that I have been wearing as a necklace with a cotton thread. It is taken off before every shower and the put back on but the thread is. I need something strong that can withstand being tied in a bow and untied daily made of natural materials.
      I was told:
You can change the Rudraksha thread with silk/cotton thread from any local shop and start wearing it.
Rudraksha (also called as Rudraksh) are dried seeds of a tree, which grows in select locations of South East Asia, botanically known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus. It is also called “Tears of Shiva” and there are many legends connected to Lord Shiva that describe its origin.
Thank you in advance for your attention.

I use Miyuki for fringe. Lately I have had a problem with Fireline fraying. Is the Wildfire stronger and does it fray? Thank you for the video.

Wildfire is thermally bonded to avoid fraying!
