This verison and the variant are two of the best wolverines ever made! The sheer amount of statue packed into 1/4 scale, paint, sculpting and potraits is unmatched! The variant is way better! I agree with you about the arm hairs! It ruined the arm appeal and the veins should be more blue! You can always get it repainted and have the artist remove those arm hairs make it look like the phase 2 arms paint job! This and the variant outclass any other wolverine statues! Except the Wolverine beastmode by Thiago Provin! These wolverines will maintain their value and will go up in value with time; as more and more collectors will see the freakish size these wolverines bring to the "table" !
Hey mr. X, I wonder if you switch the shoulder pads see if they'll fit on opposite sides that would bring the Battle scars towards the front. Also if you re-watch your video the shadows from the claws, make a cool design on the base with an x in the middle. Great vid. I can tell you're very excited about this one!

As we all know that statue became a "grail" since there were no other customs at the time and it was a first basically. Fast forward a few years and Dani goes off the handle [and his meds] and scams people [collectors and artists] and becomes an ego maniac as well. Sosa then sculpted this Wolverine for this particular group, hence the name "Wolf Killer" because this statue kills the old "Wolf" statue in every way. Great review & CG on this future sought after Wolverine
Oh man.... I don't know why I love this statue so much but boy do I ever! Absolutely sick! The rage it exudes! The insane musculature! Fantastic paint! Its simplicity is just dope in this case. This is a rare time when I absolutely love the museum pose. That's not normal for me... hahaha! I guess there's always exceptions in life. Something very special about this piece :D

I prefer simpler bases as it allows the emphasis to be on the character. Some times the bases are over the top, as if commissioners are trying to out do each other. Also makes it more expensive to package and ship. Difficult to assemble. More space needed to display. Maybe this is a good topic to discuss one day.
Totally agree, I really dislike the massive bases, no need for them at all. The simplistic base is very Bowenesque and I always say 'you can't beat a Bowen', they put the focus on the character, which is how It should be.
While the base shouldn’t take away from a character some characters are hard to display or showcase how great they are without a base to tell some of their story.
Interesting theory, I see your point that a lesser known character might be improved by the narrative of It's base, however I prefer to display the more obscure characters along side related or complimentary characters, wherever possible. This negates the need for an ornamental oversized base.
John i believe this statue was purposely made to be a redition of Joe Madureira's version of Wolverine. The sculptor match his artist exaggerations and flare perfectly. Great piece and if you love Joe Madureira's art style this definitely nailed it.👍
I agree that the base is boring. Although wolverine is spot on to the comic. I actually drew that pose in my sketchbook. The seam line in the neck area isn't horrific. Especially compared to other licensed statues. As for the hair on his arms. I think they're accurate to the comic that Sosa was going for. So for me it's good. Over all this is a wicked savage wolverine. Love it.

That is the best comic accurate Wolvie I have ever seen. Neck seam seems negligible because his cowl wouldn't be one piece with the suit. The forearm seams are significant. I love the mirror finish on the claws but they don't look sharp. I also hate the base. But, someone said key it into a display and that could be a good idea, or have the base customized,

I guess some Chinese factory is unofficially making unlicensed replicas without the limited series numbering or special box. I'm assuming you've probably heard of this kind of thing. I wonder if they're somehow using the same original digital sculpt.
Customize that base. I'm sure you know somebody. Be careful not to take away from the figural image. It will be a standout with a little work. Love it in general. Also, love your channel.

Initially when I first saw ideas and concepts I was on same page. Then I had an opportunity to get it and renders looked a little better so I said sure why not. Didn’t really have high expectations but in person it has a very unexpected wow factor.

Shoulder pads with scratches are supposed to face forward, not backwards.

I sold mine for like $3500. I told the guy (good collector) it’s not for sale. He kept pushing so I threw that number at him and he bought it.

To me the seam-line is a non-issue because it's in the back and generally won't be seen.

It's usually a digital sculpt then a chinese factory will create a print, and casts, then "mass" produce
