I have the same problem on a winch that's a couple years old. HF has a remote setup that plugs right into the winch wired remote plug, but it's $40. This saves about $25 and you get two remotes. Thanks.
Update: Just finished the wiring with crimp ends and bench testing. Worked great. Mine had a jack on the original box for the wired winch remote. That got scrapped and the relay / receiver went into a small Pelican type case for more room. Very happy with the results. The new remotes seem decent. Great advice!

Exactly that was my thought it was cheaper and I got 2 remotes..
