- being very impressed with the Xbox series x on release and purchasing one was a massive deal for me. for someone who initiated buying his first Xbox console, this was a big move with a lot of promises. However, the more time I spent with this console the more disappointed I felt initially. Personally, I believe this console should have been the tipping point to convince people from other platforms that this console is better but it has failed to do that in my own opinion. this video explains all the problems I have faced and why I decided to sell my Xbox series x.

This video is actually how I feel , owning both consoles and having ps plus premium and gamepass , if you exclude day 1 games on Xbox , ps plus premium is the better buy to me , better quality games and I enjoy more games on ps than I do gamepass
Demon Souls, Miles Morales Spider Man, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West... it has been a blast for PS5 so far. I can't imagine being two years in and not having a healthy catalogue of games under your belt yet. There's only one game that made me ever want to own an Xbox, and that game was Left 4 Dead. I'm keeping my eyes peeled so see if there's something on that lavel that will make me finally lean towards getting an SX someday, but so far nothing I can't enjoy on the PS5 like Elden Ring.
I just want to know why you put RE 8 and RE Village? Cause 1. they are the same game (RE village is RE 8) and 2. It's not an exclusive, it released on X/S same day as PS5.
Get a 360 for cheap or get a PC to play Left 4 Dead 2. Community is still large asf
I sold my series X late last year due it never being turned on 2 weeks after it released. It spent two years propping my lounge door open :/
I hadn't played many games prior to getting an xbox last year. So for me it was totally worth it, but for someone like you I agree 100%, no new AAA exclusives for like forever defo sucks
I own or played most games listed on the game pass. I find there to be a lot of junk games too which is normal to booster the marketing strategy saying there's this much games and so on. ( This is exactly same with ps essential/premium). It's amazing deal, not hating it , but it's personally don't make sense for me who owns a lot of the listed games.
When it comes to exclusives, they dropped the ball real hard. How did they expect to attract new players off their competitors when they didn't release anythig.

PlayStation hasn’t done much with the ps5 at all but i guess we will ignore that spiderman 2 is the only 1st party release in 2023.If you want the best gaming has to offer get a pc you can play everything in its best form
Totally agree with this video, sold my series x today and will just be sticking with the Ps5. Was hugely disappointed in Forza motorsport absolute garbage, GT7 is miles better and it’s not even close.
Just got a Series X this wknd mainly for Flight Simulator after not having an Xbox since the original. The bonus is I get play all the games from the original and take a trip down memory lane. I don't get to game much so a lot of titles are still new to me. I also have a PS5 and plan to never sell either one since I regret selling all my old systems.
Thr bar was set so hi with hype that so far the series x has failed to impress or live up to its hype.. So far we've seen 12tflops of nothing..

And this is why I haven't bought an XSX because I knew their lack of their creative exclusives would be a big issue. Even acquiring studio and big publishers and their IPs still haven't draw me back to Xbox to this day and only buy a game once in a blue moon from Xbox. And the Xbox would just be sitting collecting dust while my Switch and PS4 and PS5 get all the attention because those consoles have constant bangers that drains my wallet weekly and I rarely shed a dollar for an Xbox game. Sad but true.

I have switch , Ps5, One x, pc and steamdeck. The one X collects dust. Even cancelled games pass. I see no compelling reason to pick up a series X. My Switch and PS5 get the most play time, probably slightly more skewed to PS but they are close.
Red fall solidified that waiting for these day one games is a waste of my time
God of War Ragnarok is a perfect example of what a Day One release should look like.
Yeah rushed out the door with no 60fps mode on apparently this generations most powerful console. Says it all really. Plus it’s yet another game designed for Co Op first.
I bought a PS5 and PsVR2 later for me and an Xbox S and Gamepass for my son. It’s worked out well, he likes Roblox, Minecraft and Forza. But I’ve seen not a lot to make me switch from the PS5. It’s not even close this gen I’m afraid, but at least Gamepass gives you some decent games to play for cheap.
I sold my Xbox as well. No point of having it when I have a PC with a 3070 in it. I’m fine with the PS5, PC, and switch.
I use my ps5 more than my Series X and the recent third party releases run worse on Xbox, I'd rather pay 70.00 for a better looking, performing game, Atomic Heart is a good example.
Buying a game is much different than service subscription.
It makes you want to dedicate time and find the fun and appreciate the effort of the developer, you feel connection to it because you gave your money.
In the end the service you give money but you don't exactly realize it and is just a huge list of games you don't even have the actual time to focus on. We can only focus on so many games so paying for a service with tones of titles is pointless in the end.
It's been over 2 years and Xbox fans are still playing the waiting game.
Multi-platform games still tend to have disappointing performance on Xbox and most of Microsoft's first-party games aren't at Sony's level either.
My xbox series x been just sitting there collecting dust.. thought about selling it a few times but I'm still holding out for starfield.. hope it's worth it.. Definitely feels like a bad investment 😅

I have an Xbox series X . I think some people pay too much attention to exclusives as if you don't have many exclusives you don't have any games to play. this is just silly. What about all the game that came out in 2022 ??, I just finished to play Resident evil 4 remake and it works and look great for example ... you don't play them ?? who cares if they are exclusive ? The Xbox series X is a great console, it looks far better than the PS5, and is more powerful. it got a quick resume . you have game pass , and you will have so many exclusives ( if you care about them ) when all the studios and acquisitions occur. Just take it easy ....and enjoy .
The ps5 looks better. I literally have both in my room. In fact, I’m looking at them rn. Ps5 also has better games, quality and graphics wise. I have a Samsung Q80 55 inches which has 120hz and 4K support on a qled. So I’m getting the best of both. Ps plus also has better quality. I have game pass and it disappointing. I finished a couple but everything else sucks. Xbox does run old games a lot better.
I’m 48….so since Atari 2600 I’ve been gaming. Over 40 years of it and this is the worst most boring, lackluster gaming generations of all time. Had the Series X several times. And I’ve either taken it back or sold them. 😢
I have the same thoughts. For someone who was willing to try and beloved the promises of series X i was majorly disappointed. In terms of future it may change with the purchases they've done but ATM it's pointless. I've pretty much played starfield on my TV using gamepass lmao so if i need to play Xbox i don't need the console
It is absolutely your right to express your experience sir, valid points. The lesson for me is that there lots of competition for product and services. I bought xbox sx specifically cause of starfield, Microsoft flight sim and stalker 2. If u buy coz of what is specifically in front of you, which another good or service don't have you wont be disappointed. I suppose the same runs true for ps5.

It sucks , but long term will see what happens as they made many purchases. Hopefully they get their shit together andfix their management to develop an actual system seller games similar to playstation

I realized this early on only i kept my series x and built a PC and havent looked back although i still play my series X for certain games
Took me time to realize and accept that Gamepass isn't for me, it's a great deal....but for me there is no QUALITY titles on there. There's one too many 8 bit games, the backwards compatibility is cool for old games but the nostalgia wears off after a day. I didn't purchase this console to play old titles. Minecraft legends? Uhh no, Redfall? The left 4 Dead sequel? Starfield? Doesn't interest me. I agree, I was spoiled with the quality titles on ps5, none of the xbox titles hit the same way as ps. Truly disappointed, been supporting xbox since the original. From here on out its PS, they can take all my money.

Have both consoles. 95% of the time I'm on ps5. Most Xbox games suck lol I bought it for starfield, elder scrolls 6 and outer world 2 all are way off

Series x is a good console that's tarnished by bad management. My advice is For Starfield is to wait for gameplay and reviews then decide to purchase it.

I feel your pain! I currently own a ps5, series x, and a switch. I got the switch last Christmas and to my surprise I play it way more than my series x. I play the ps5 the most, that’s my favorite console. Like you I thought the series x with game pass was going to be great. I was wrong. Like you I played a ton of games. Game pass lost it’s luster in about 9 months for me. My Xbox just sits there. I’ve considered selling it. I’m giving M$ to the end of this year. Hoping starfield and forza will be good. Hopefully both will run at 60fps. I’ve always had 2 systems but right now I’m looking at the ps6 and whatever Nintendo has for the next consoles. I’m skipping Xbox unless they get their shit together!
Forza be 60, strong rumours are saying Starfield will be 30fps. But to me it doesn’t look that impressive anyway, it’s like an Outer Worlds clone or something? I’ve given up waiting and am selling my Series X, most games I’ve played have been cross platform third party. Going to get a PS5.
I own all 3 consoles too and the switch is used the least by me as i'm 37 not 10 🤣🤣🤣 my kids play the switch mostly.

I made the right decision to buy a Nintendo Switch and not Xbox consoles, no Series X, and Series S is a worse investment. It does not matter if it offers gamepass, the most important key is the games. Which Xbox has sinned too much since Phil Spencer arrived, Sony posts having super gems but they take longer to come out, Xbox hasn't had more of that beyond Forza since 2014.
For something Nintendo has gained a lot of ground, and the PS5 has a lot of the lead.
Great video, I got the series x because I loved my 360 back in the day, I felt the same way before I sold mine as I didn’t feel it had that new feel anymore, almost like when you upgrade yours graphics card in your PC it played the older games better but same old. Bought a ps5 and wow it had that brand new console feel, at the end of the day the ps5 has the games, it also has a kick ass controller which the series x was basically the same as the one x. I feel like Sony has put way more thought and creativity in the Ps5, way more exclusive titles which are excellent.
I read a comment a couple of days ago that "the series x was built, and the ps5 was designed" thought that summed it up pretty well

Console is awful. Was with Microsoft for 12 years only cause of my past purchase history. Eventually I sold Series X when it collected dust compared to Ps5. I bought a Ps3 and 360 again and im having a blast. Sony is killing it with games and quality and fun experiences. Halo and Gears are ancient and badly run at this point.
Im not a big gamer, 2-3hrs a week sometimes less that's why I wanted to try gamepass. They have tons of games but only a hand full of games that I had any interest in.
If you only play 3 hours a week why didn't you get the ps5 instead? I mean you can finish a ps5 exclusive in 9 hours easy. Game pass is hundreds of games, your going to spend most of your time looking for a game to play instead of playing a game.

I sold my Xbox series x after being with Xbox since the 360 although I’ve always had PlayStation too. Serving up halo Infinite undercooked with salmonella and then following that up by releasing 0 big first party games in the second year was enough.
Heap men’s going too, no new Gears anywhere to be seen and State Of Decay 3 was teased then nothing for what 2 years and counting? Going back and staying in PlayStation. Any new Gears or State Of Decay can be streamed, hell I can stream them onto my iPad.
The Xbox 360 was my favourite all time console. But it seems all Microsoft wants to do now is turn Xbox into a streaming brand and get Game Pass onto every platform they can.
Same happened to me. Returned to Sony with open arms and I'm having a blast man. Games and community are amazing. I even got a Ps3 next to my Ps5 and have been catching up on games that I missed like Infamous 2, which is epic Asf

Playing my series X for 1 year now and still going strong.I'm patient and enjoying the games on Gamepass.I also own a backlog of Xbox one games and played lots of older titles in between.The big hitters are still coming soon so i'm good.I can run too the store now to by a PS5 but i'm too busy with my Xbox.I understand your reasoning so always follow your heart.In the end you need too fulfill your gaming itch and not that of others ;-)

It really comes down to what each individual person wants out of their system, I still like playing old games. So I brought an Xbox series X because I have the option to play backwards compatible games…also I’m looking forward to Replaced,Forza,Starfield and Hellblade.

Xbox has always done the minimum at everything. There’s a reason why people have been leaving xbox and going with the PS5. They’re finally realizing that the grass is greener on PlayStation’s side.
Pretty much the same as me but I am keeping my xbox series s. I would be disappointed if I bought the X instead. Gamepass is a good deal if you have a wide gaming preference.

They don't really have any stand out games . The console is powerful yet nothing really stands out even halo failed . The quick resume is great the boost is great yet what Microsoft has let us all down is the exclusive aren't there . We want new ips. We want bangers and this gen they just don't have it.

I haven't bought a console since the PS3 and subscribing to game services has caveats such as your hardware having a limited lifespan, PC games 20 years old can still be played today and that's one of the reasons PC is king. Peoples gaming habits change as they age, I have over 200 hundred Steam games and now only play about five a week.

I’ve had a Series X since launch, because I really enjoyed Gears Of War and State Of Decay. I enjoy Quick Resume and Game Pass… but.. I am going to sell my Xbox for a PS5, because it has no games. No new Gears is on the horizon, State Of Decay 3 is MIA, they’ve shown the odd CGI trailer and that’s it, most of the games I’ve played are cross platform. I plugged in my PS4 and signed up for PSN Plus Premium and am playing Stray! I am playing a game as a cat, a fucking cat! And you know what? It’s fun.
I really enjoy COD too but being British it looks like the deal to buy Activision will fail in the UK.
I’ve played only a handful of games from Game Pass, and in the future if I want to play then I can stream them onto my iPad. My favourite games are The Gunk, and Deliver Us The Moon, stuff like that. The Ascent is an amazing game for me but again it’s cross platform and one day will leave Game Pass. I’ve got two games I want to finish then it’s going up for sale. I’m fed up of just endless empty promises of games that never come out.
Also IMO Microsoft want to turn Xbox into a streaming brand first, a console business second and I won’t be surprised if they stop making consoles next gen.
Past 2 gens, ps and xbox, were a big let down. We're only just getting what i expected from ps4 and xbone, as far as graphics go. Mid gen refresh doesnt help, it just blurs the line between gens, making the generational leap less impressive.
Youre either mad or blind if you say PS4 did not deliver on games. In temr soft graphics if you expected PS3 or PS4 to run games like high end pc then again....you're mad. Knowing the specs and system it was obvious how much they can handle. There was massive generational leaps, like uncharted 4 or the last of us two which looked amazing and still holds up.
Another example, Generational leap between red dead 1 from PS3 to red dead 2 on PS4 or Xbox.
I always have had a ps but but got a xbox becouse of the ps5 has a cpu issue with the liquid metal

What the hell happened to Xbox. I skipped the Xbox one because of lack of games that I would be interested in playing. Heard that Xbox series would play and make my 360 games look better. A lie. Found out the hard way it only plays the backwards compatible games they choose for it to play. Don’t care about game pass because I have the games I like playing already. And I don’t like none of their new games. This is Xbox biggest problem. Putting out the same type of games (shooters) and nothing unique like they use to.
I'm not sure about the 360 games but credit is where credit is due because of the boost mode which allowed old games for example assassin's Creed unity to run 60fps without needing the company to optimize or to patch it. This game is 30 fps on PS5 for example but then again the resolution don't change from what I know.

@@Vazillia: Backwards compatible means it plays all games from the systems they say it will play. Not read into on the disc and then download some better version of the game. And the part I hate the most, only games they choose.
I've a large games library and always kept up to date with releases and don't like indie games, so that was my experience and impression so undescribed from game pass, because of the dry desert games releases, sick of eating the dangled carrot
I had purchased the Xbox series x back in February but sold it a couple weeks later cause i wasn’t thrilled by the console and the constant lagging of the games i play ultimately the money made back went towards my ps5

Which games did you play that were lagging on series X? Genuinely curious since both PS5 and XSX are on equal footing power wise. So always assumed that there was a 3rd party performance parity between them.
I have a PC and the Series S. I play PC more and I know from the beginning that I would never want a Series X due to pricing. Xbox has been getting better, but still falls short.

I was quite impressed with the colourful graphics and smooth gameplay of Hifi rush, but it is pretty big standard gameplay overall. Might just be a style thing for me, but at least it game Gamepass something decent to keep the value there.
360 was my fav console. Xboxone had one good game "Sunset overdrive" and series x has like zero good exclusive games.
Sunset overdrive is actually very underrated game. But for series x I did enjoy Forza horizon which was fun with friends but I understand your perspective.

Welcome to the club! I also sold my Series X after over 2 years of Gamepass Ultimate. Microsoft gaming direction is not exciting. All these delays for poor AAA delivery. What a shame!

You're not wrong but it didn’t take me months to realise. I sent mine back within a few weeks. The xbox is such a good console, but my excitement for starfield took over and the disappointing selection on the console meant it made me more sense to buy a new gpu.
To be fair I am still playing starfield on cloud using my TV lmao. I'm not missing much after selling it 😂
2022 was a hard year for Xbox
The Series X just doesn't feel next gen.
Xbox has gotten a lot of good games this gen. It's received great third-party support this gen(excluding Square Enix). People forget that a game doesn't have to be a single-player 3D open world game in order to be fun or interesting.
But those are cross platform games, not exclusives.
My gears of war Xbox is 4K and I am happy I got my 18 TB external plugged up so 👍

I'm an Xbox gamer .. I bought a PS5 due to FF16 and FF7 remake ... My xbox is now a TH-cam machine it's so bad right now .. the gamepass sub is very very poor right now
I gave my xbox series x to my brother, gaming is dead now and it's because microtransaction greed killed them.
Xbox getting games out the end of this year. And as the years to come. Yes I own ps5 so don't feel bad about getting rid of your xbox. I was about to do the same thing of waiting on games for years.

I wouldn't say it will be different now even after purchase. But more or so I don't believe there will be big impact this generation. However in 5 years time we might see shift in marketplace with all these acquisitions. It's more of a long term gameplay. As of now, there's no difference.
Microsoft can't manage their teams with the eye peas they already had then they bought Bethesda and made redfall I think Xbox is where Studios go to die or at least remain on life support with all that Microsoft money
The one thing that Xbox guys just refuse to acknowledge, is that Phil is the problem. If Sony didn't exist Redfall would still be running at 30fps. You can keep pretending that GTA5 doesn't exist,
but it does. We have done mission in multi-player for years with way more people and vehicles. Also, in Remnant from the Ashes and World War-z Aftermath on last gen consoles, and the new gen
gets upgraded to 4K 60fps. You can't keep being ok when people leave these Dev studios, the games will take longer to make, and you have to get people up to speed. The consoles are fine.
I'll buy an Xbox Series X if they start pumping out lots of good games. I've been saying that since the day the system came out....and I'm still waiting. 🙄

I've definitely made a good choice. Like I've said in regards to all the purchasing of studios there won't be any impact on Xbox anytime soon. In long term it may be the case 7-10+ years. (maybe even next gen). Nothing on Xbox released this year made me go WOW. Starfield got my attention and I've played it through xbox cloud using my LG cx TV which was decent performance as I have fast connection. Overall that game was not enough for me to stick to Xbox and like I said, so far Xbox has failed to capture me as a client. So far it's all talk but that may change in future. But like I said I don't see any massive impact this gen.
Overall I made good choice and I'm not losing much from selling my Xbox. 🫡
Also to add on, layoffs sucks, this also happened on Microsoft but also all other game studios. People losing their jobs sucks regardless which company they are in.

I switched to a ps4 instead of the new series x.
All those studios and no games or half finished games...can't wait for starfield.

I've tried PC and personally not for me. Too much stuff to fiddle about and I love comfort. For me PS5 is way to go ATM. For switch it's very interesting but I guess it's not for me , was never into Pokemon , Mario or such etc. But you can never go wrong with those choices
Let me put it this way sony was the first one with a subscription but thank god we never back it up because we know better. And yes game pass is bad really bad thats why they getting shitty trash games.

I have all three systems. I play the Xbox just because of game pass and quick resume.
The last three years have been devastating for me, so I might have missed the memo. but had I known the business plan was to make xbox the Netflix of gaming, I would have passed on buying the most powerful paper weight in the world
After marketing series x successfully I genuinely thought this console will be actually worth buying but boi I was wrong. For someone like me who is new to this system I was not impressed. It felt dull and pointless while their competitors wether ps or Nintendo releasing GOTY quality games.
Since this video was out they even took more L's which made this video even more valid to my options and how I felt. Had so many people saying "how dare you sell this console when games like redfall and Starfield will release"....since then redfall has been disaster And I have no faith on Starfield if I'm being honest. In essence gamepass is good but that's if you're living in country which has very expensive games compared to other locations or if you don't have much games.
Either way , I still think I've done the correct decision
My PS5 didn't impress me that much tbh, so I got a series X to go along side it, and to be fair I play on my series X more than my PS5 and that's mostly because when games releases are little dry or just crap, I can play across four generations of xbox without having to sign up to a premium service.
The series X doesn't look or feel as cheap as the PS5.... I know style is subjective, but to me the PS5 looks cheap and tacky, that's why it's hidden behind my TV.😂
PS5 and series X are for large living TV'S and outside of that they are both disappointing, but they are cheap compared to decent PC so I I've never placed too much expectations in either of them, because anyone who isn't and idiot knows how over hyped they both were when they came to market.🤔
I'm also tired of playstation's tired 3rd person hack and slash formula.☹.... honestly it feels like I've been playing the same game for over a decade it feels like they just swap out characters, decorations and call it something new and origina..... quick time events are for people who can't play video games.😂
I’m thinking of getting rid of my series x because I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for expanded storage. Now, with that being said, the library has been lacking and disappointing. I love gamepass, but it’s just not enough.
For me storage isn't an issue because I do have super fast internet so it doesn't take long for me to delete and download a game. But yeahhh I've heard storage is expensive which sucks. For me because I own a lot of games already I have a lot of those listed games on game pass already. Other games I either played or don't have interest to touch so that's why I find game pass pointless for me personally. But it is an amazing deal still

I'm only waiting to see how things will turn out with Starfield. If it's a good game, a solid 8/10 and above if I were to quantify it, then I'll keep it for now. The only thing that's kept me around for now is Gamepass ultimate (for me personally it's been worth it)
My suspicion is that Starfield could be a somewhat difficult one. If it's like Skyrim in space, it will have a great world to explore, but horrible combat mechanics (at least some of those seemed to be evident already in some videos), and its real potential will lie in the modding community. 1000 worlds to put mod content on? That sounds mind-blowing. But could take years to materialize in a substantial way. Well, being a SciFi nerd myself, I do hope it's really great, but knowing Bethesda, I'm trying not to get my hopes too high up.
The problem with Xbox is that while we are waiting for games for current gen, there isn’t much to look back to through backwards compatibility. I recently got a PS5 and the first thing I did was get Ghost of Tsushima. Since I never owned a PS4, I have these awesome PS4 exclusives to play while I wait for next gen games to come out. Xbox doesn’t have this luxury since most Xbox One exclusives are unappealing to me personally. I just couldn’t find any reason to buy an Xbox. Which is a shame because Microsoft used publish and make amazing games during the late 90s and early 2000s.

PS5 is just a better console. I love the controller. The exclusives are the best in the industry, PlayStation puts console gamers first. PS plus is a better service than gamepass too. Literally has more games, and higher quality games. People want to say day 1 games are great, yet gamepass doesn't even get most of the bigger 3rd party games and Microsoft first party just isn't very good. Day one these days is the worst version of a game. I'm done with Xbox. Microsoft said themselves after internal review of last of us 2,they aren't capable of making games like that.
I’ve used both game pass and ps plus and I 100% agree that There’s more quality games on ps plus and who cares about day 1 first party games when they hardly ever release and when they do they’re extremely mid or unfinished like halo.

There was no compromise with spiderman 2 for example. Graphics, gameplay, quality, all there. Even the 60fps mode has ray tracing, at launch. It will hit the service in due time. I'd prefer it this way, as opposed to getting a compromised, sub par product, just because it's "cheap".
I don't prefer to rent my games either way, I bought Spiderman on disc, like I do most Sony exclusives. They and Nintendo are about the only companies left releasing finished games. It's sad.
