Lindsey, you have out done yourself! Between great editing and sound effects, you provide the best music backup ever. Oh, and the content ain't bad either! Thanks for providing we long time restorers with relatable content....and lot of laughs🤓
I can’t believe it’s a year since the mould was treated. Randy is very knowledgeable 😊. The door is going to look great! I like the salvage yard tours.
“Or maybe I did it. I forgot” 😂. By the time this house is completed, it’ll be stronger than the ancient walls of…a well fortified ancient city! Love the new door. The house will be strong as stone, but as lovely as My Fair Lady. Can’t wait to see the door completed and installed. So cool that the hardware used to be from a storefront. 1911. Olympic was sailing and Titanic was still being built!
Lindsey, Thank you for saying such wonderful things about our store! We already know Robert is a total rockstar but you really showcased just how helpful and knowledgable he is. Some of your followers have already stopped by and mentioned seeing our store in this video. We appreciate you spreading the word!
YOU"RE SO WELCOME!!! Your store and your organization are such jewels of service to humanity and the earth. I'm so so glad to have played a small part in others finding you.
It is all going to be so beautiful! And unique, too. I know it’s been a challenge at times but your dream has kept you going. I love old houses so much…my husband, eh, not as much. We compromised on a 1938 farmhouse. My goal is to live long enough for it to be 100 years old.😅 It is iffy at best!😅
Lindsey looking fabulous... can't wait to see the finished door... and sure is coming along good there... electrician should move things along real quick... imagine getting that all done and then ... walls! Won't that be something... can't wait... Oh... and will be interesting to see how you all tackle that porch... I know from day 1 when I first saw you that was a major issue.
Lindsey, what a fantastic job you're doing. One thing to be aware of about your door is that doors have an inside and an outside for a reason. Switching a door can cause leaking and other issues down the line. I'm loving all the progress I'm seeing.❤❤😊
"Can't afford old any more." Totally understand that statement! Though I have found that Habitat for Humanity resell stores have been a cheaper place to find architectural items in my area. Especially the one that is located in an old city. Lots of 'stuff' from the old houses that have been rehab in that area.
I don't know if it's ridiculous or affirming that old, well made things can be more expensive than new! Love Habitat for Humanity! 🌍 Syracuse has one but for some reason they don't have stuff from the old houses here. I've heard the one in Ithaca is good... There are so many to see still!
Hello Lindsay. That us an amazing door your restoring. Tenna at John's Furniture might have some advice for it. She does amazing work. Find her on TH-cam. Anyhows your doing an amazing job and I love watching your progress.
How far would it be to go to auctions in Michigan? Ginger chick rehab finds a lot at their auctions. I have used that paint stripper I was told if you lay Saran wrap over it and let sit for a while it will work better. Here door glass should be replaced with safety glass. That was a crazy price you were given. Hope it works out.
Not home depot go to old ace hardware, who cuts glass in back room. Go to color glass store. This ‘‘tis hard make out of plexiglass, yes glass cut supply who will
Hahaha... You are so right! I tried the heat gun and some orange paint remover, most of that footage just didn't make the cut. I don't know if it was the combo of latex paint over shellac but, the orange stuff I was using became a gooey mess. Since then I have been using denatured alcohol with greater success. Peeling the paint started out so easy but those trim pieces... yowza.
@@TheGrandLady i saw the stripper after i hit send. If your going to be stripping more stuff they have infrared heat gun brand is cobra its a bit pricey but hear it best to use in stripping antiques and safer if lead paint is on it. Just trying to help u work smarter abd save ur energy. Lol

Wow, thank you! We gotta keep each other sane!

So happy you all found Randy!
My favorite kind of shopping, salvage, antique, vintage. Some of those prices seemed really high! Happy shopping! 😊
It's going to be beautiful when you're finished.
We love Randy hes so efficient wish they all were like Randy...lucky u ❤
We are SO LUCKY! There might be a bidding war for who gets him next. Haha

Love this!

Glad you laughed! I hope Randy likes it. haha

Next time when you need a specialty cut made, find someone who does stained glass. If they can't do it, I don't think anyone could.
Progress! Love it!
You need to take a road trip to different areas a lot father out . Still so happy you are back
Goodness they have way over priced items! It is a blessing that you have other places to go to.
It really is!
Juno Glass on military circle might help with glass
Fingers crossed you've found the last of the magic that's holding up the house and now it's holding up with actual nails
Hahahaha.... hahhahahaha.....!
Try Ace Hardware for glass cutting.
Thank you!!!!

1938 farmhouse. That just sounds lovely! I hope you make your goal!
Lindsay do you have a time in mind when you will have the “Grand Lady” where you can move in😊
We're shooting for December... we'll see. She won't be all finished then but livable.

WAllls!!! Yeah, that porch has been an eyesore for so long! This is a front porch sitting neighborhood too.
@@TheGrandLady Looking forward to seeing the walls going up and the porch getting the help it so desperately needs.
Yay!!! Another video!
Great video! That door is going to look gorgeous when you’re done with it Lindsay!

That antique store looks very expensive.
Seriously expensive.... I hope it doesn't mean they are struggling financially. I'd hate to see them go away.
Take those rails off and dip then scrub with fine brush. Don’t over do.

Thanks for the tip! There is always so much to learn renovating this old house! I fumble a lot! haha 🙃

Thank you for the safety glass idea. Jim and I just discussed it because of your comment. It does make sense!

Alfred Hitchcock 😂😂😂
cut the damage out and splice in a new piece will look perfect
Hope you took the glass cutting tools back to the store and got a refund 😊Its a lot of hard work but you are doing an amazing job!!
I did!
OK, glamorous! Stop it - you made me yawn! 😀
Hahahahaha
Linsey work smarter not harder use a heat gun or paint stripper on door
