We do the same here. Try and do 60/40 split. Salt is an extra removal is an extra. I’ve always found with the monthly accounts when we get a lot of snow events or large ones that cost us more then we base or monthly pricing on, we end up making it back and then some with snow removal or pile roll backs/ relocation etc. Like you said generally once we factor in the low activity in November and March it makes up for any extra plows we did Dec-Feb
I came across you when you were on the dirt monkey youtube channel. What a great business you have built at such a young age .Thank u Garrett for all the valuable information that you share on your channel
I'm in wisconsin and we plow alot of lots and I do everything per push salting is extra hauling snow or moving piles is extra i never got why ppl charge by the hour for snow removal because they do make alot less money
If you work for a contractor you get paid by the hr like there's a snow removal business here that has over 500 people working for them they give ya what lot to go to so they give an hourly wage 100 an hr they probaly charge 150 hr per truck or bobcat but they make most of the money salting
Hey Garrett love your videos man just wondering what tracks what company do you put on those bobcats for those tracks in the wintertime to get grip on the ice and snow Cuz I hear guys tell me just do tires of set of tracks you get more traction
I just got my first parking lot opportunity. I'm needing some idea on the contract side of things. Any way you could email a pdf of your contract. I'd be glad to pay for it...
hey garrett request from a u s army vet. can you mount u s flags on your equipment ? like larson farms do they are on you tube too . thanks ahead of time.
I almost choked when I got bill for my 10' arctic but after 3 storms I use 1/4 of salt I been using. And I've tried alot of pushers. One of best investment I've made.
I plow in a t66 and I can't get any traction for the life of me just slide everywhere go to push a small pile just start spinning the tracks but during the summer the t66 is rly good
multi bar tracks, it's the same principle as snow tires, lots of tiny ribs will put more edge bite on the surface. my snow tires i don't buy them if they have less than 6 bites - the leading edge, then the 5 razor ripple cuts in the trade. also the snow/rain has to funnel completely out of the tire. buy your tracks on the same principle but remember while this works great for snow, with mud you want big gaps between lugs so that once they plug up with mud in the tread they will fling out with centripetal force going around back to ground contact. you want them to release mud immediately coming off the ground on the upswing
Do you put a cap on how many events that will cover for the month? say you plan for 4 but do up to 7 visits then any extra for the month is $200 extra? or just eat the extra cost? we like hourly but just charge $200/hr for our little units and $250 for tractor loader& blower. fair for both sides no-one wins big or losses money. But we don't have employees, its just the 4 of us. Do you have a trigger it needs to snow before you go clear? we worry that they will be called constantly throughout a snow storm. we had a 10" snow storm last month and could've been called to clear it during the day at least 3 times just for that storm if its a 3" trigger. sw minn.
Home depot and lowes are 1'' trigger u get paided monthly if u get 1" or 100" u get the same. Most years u make out some u don't. We just had a 30" storm. We made $25k extra moving snow from lot and after roof clearing.

Have you guys ever tried a kage snowplow/pusher they are sweet
We haven’t
How is the 770 handling the 13’ artic? Wish you would have went smaller at all? I’ll be looking into one next year I think.
It handles it very well. We absolutely love this set up for plowing
Hey Garrett, great video. what tracks do you run for snow removal? Do you swap them out in the spring for dirt work?
We run multi bar tracks on all of our machines around
Well said
We get asked frequently if we will plow by the Hour my response is always No we do Per push only with 1" Trigger
140$ buys my hour.
Does the bobcat in this video with the pusher move more snow than a truck with wideout plow?
That Bob cat looks bad ass bro
It gets work done that’s for-sure!
I’m in a very similar business, growing is always has it difficulties. How do you boy your sales person. I think I need one? Just not sure.
Base plus commission

Yeppers!
But cost per hour on maintenance for track skid vs wheeled skid?
For the kind of work we do in the summertime wheel machines won’t work so we keep buying track machines.
You should get an interview with Corey Fenstra out of Rogers. He's has a good story about how he built his business.
I can do that!
