There is so much hissing self noise in every review i've watched, even in this one, Sony's own video. Can you fix this in a firmware update or something? Also att -20 is too loud for most Sony cameras but we cant change the audio level when this is connected

This is bluetooth, so direction doesn't matter. The mic on the receiver seems to point backwards so that will pick up sounds better for the person behind the camera. Probably designed that way so that if you have a blogger interviewing someone, the mix will let you hear both the interviewer behind camera and the person being interviewed (who wears the transmitter). Workson ZV-1 yes, as that camera supports all accessories using the MI Shoe.
Hi, I have a Sony RX100M7 (no compatible hot shoe) with a Smart rig metal cage to protect it. If I slide the ECM-W2BT receiver onto the cage's cold metal shoe will I short out (fry) the receivers electronics? Waiting for your reply before I try my ECM-W2BT out with my Sony RX100M7 which has no hot shoe.

Sony why do you show this on the ZV-1 but when I plug it into my ZV1 it does not work. Camera says this accessory is not supported?? False advertising or will there be an update or something?

Just connected it up to the a7R lll using the analog setting and the levels look great. This thing is so small my fear is losing it in the bag.
