@@rhysioeren3203seeing 20% more screen vertically is useful? when 99% of all dual monitor setups are landscape, only time ive seen vertical screen is for restaurant menus
It really is, especially for someone who does a lot of coding. Being able to look at an extra number of lines is really helpful. I need to scroll back and forth multiple times for a single function declaration. Especially while working on someone's codebase. People buy additional displays for this thing, the rotatable ones.
what people don't realize that unlike rolled phone that going sideways, rolling up can give abundant of stress to the hinge. that hinge wont last that long
The only reason they can do it this way is because the screen rolls under the keyboard. There’s no spare room horizontally to roll that way (though I agree that would be preferable). Still, more screen is more screen 😀
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable will be available for sale starting June 2025, with an expected starting price of $3,499 on our official website: lnv.gy/4ji60kE. Stay tuned!
finally a laptop with a screen replace that is not going to be like buying the laptop brand new or breaking it just because you did not bend it with both hands XD
Not only has Samsung had this concept at least displayed at conventions for about a decade now, but I don't even see the benefit in this concept, other than as novelty. It looks like something where I wouldn't want to be an early adopter, because the development is geared toward pushing a novelty quickly out of the door. Probably is a future headache with aspects like all the extra potential stress contributing to future dead pixels. You honestly have to wonder why Samsung has had this kind of technology on showcase for years but have sat on releasing it for anything bigger than a foldable phone.
@@ArjoRoy-pe6tfno programmer or engineer is going to use this lol we’ll just turn our monitors verticals, no one’s spending $4000 for a little bit more space.

I will never buy Lenovo again, I bought a device, it doesn't work and they don't answer emails, the problem is referenced on the Lenovo forum, people complain and you just ignore us and the problem, in the meantime I bought three of your crap.

Oh, and this video has too much ADHD-like flashy movement of the "camera" with this animation. Just show the damned thing at work, already. Straight-up and direct. This video doesn't even show the actual big "rollable screen" feature in action, all that well. Show us the actual advantages of such a novel function. Tell us how durable the product is. Did you consider how this would affect the hinge over long-term use? Give us something more informative. So tired of tech companies making every video like we're all 16-year-olds who can't pay attention for longer than 5 seconds.

Crazy idea and all, but sometimes I think if brands should put more thought into if the product will actually be USEFUL.
Why it would not be useful? Probably you should start by answering that.

This one actually useful, what do you meant?
It looks useful for programmers and people that work with pdf etc
Here's a thought, Lenovo....stop moving the damn camera and show the screen rise and expand in the same frame _at least once!_

Also the balance is gonna be issue
WE'RE BRINGING BACK 4:3 WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🗣🗣
feel like people who are saying "I want this" forget how hot laptops get and that screen rolls on top of everything heating up 😅
I don’t think this is a good idea but it is something. If you can make something that can expand horizontally not vertically. It would be more useful.
16:10 ---> 21:10 maybe but if it's too wide without curve, it's gonna be hard to use.
The only reason they can do it this way is because the screen rolls under the keyboard. There’s no spare room horizontally to roll that way (though I agree that would be preferable). Still, more screen is more screen 😀
I would think many people use laptops for writing documents and other things that might find a vertical expansion nice.
Lmao, as a software developer, vertical all the way!
@@nameless_strangerafter centuries, we are back using a scroll 📜
Can they roll it to the side? I don’t like a tall screen but I want a wide screen.
Maybe the decision is to take the space only the individuals own without the occupying the space of nearby passenger.
Cada vez más la frase grasosa "mi Facebook creció 10cm" se vuelve realidad
So you're telling us only now that wide-screen is out, portrait screens are In?
Not sure how often one needs this direction of stretching, but I do like the concept.
well, you literally get 2 screens on top of each other. A quite popular setup in IT
Why clock in that add shows 11.30 with clock hands exactly at 6 and 12?
I think rollable tablet is better than laptop. Just use Bluetooth keyboard if you want laptop functionality

Innovative. Well done again Lenovo!
They should've sell a portable rollable monitor instead.
@Lenovo Hi, Any news on Thinkbook 16P models for 2025?
Is it touch screen tho?
would've been better if they make the screen wider, not taller
The aspect ratio of the video made for foldable screens *chefs kiss*
always impressed by lenovo's forward-thinking innovations. keep up the amazing work!
perfect for linux distro
Price pls?

Looks like a $4000 laptop, but who will be able to buy?
I have a dual screen laptop for £2k and I absolutely love it. My favourite tech of this decade.
Perfect for zack snyder justice league

rollable landscape would be game changing, but this is just a propped up ipad with a keyboard
You mean like the main screen and keyboard still there and the rollable screen pop up to the side?

Remove the Copilot AI BS spec, put it a common and decent CPU and this will be perfect for programmers who don't use CoPilot day to day.
I switched this button to ChatGPT, and it's really useful.
Looks cool, but 2 monitors still works perfectly.
Is it for tiktoks ?
And actually why can't i reach the official website, already for 3 weeks long ?

No, for programmers working on lines and lines of code.

a bit more then we got a gundam seed acurate laptop
wow thats awesome
The idea was presented in 10s, the other 55s was just visual BS, you could show more about the display, no generated nonsense UI components :(
Good idea

Kinda cool, but the price tag is expected to be US$3,499 so... No, thank you.
Will lenovo ever make something useful, like a laptop that doesn’t die after 4 hours? Instead of making shit that most people will never buy?
The thinkbook plus normally has some wacky gimmick but I find it keeps Lenovo interesting
"intel inside" - "heater inside"
Very poor music choice. But I can see the usefulness of the device.

Strange form factor

All premium laptops that Don't include a dedicated gpu should come equipped with the AMD Strix Halo chips, not crpy Intel, what a waste..
If it can't run Steam and Blender, it's a brick.

I don't think Lenovo understand the meaning of word 'Roll'. 'Expandable' is correct word.
Ofc it have to be "ai" rollable
