Very interesing video. I knew about some of these but had no idea that there are so many vocabularies related to 箸。
    田中さん、いつものように新しい事を教えてくれてありがとうございます。

My sister keeps trying to grab the food out of my chopstick when I try to pass things to her across the table. I always have to tell her to bring the plate instead. She still does it all the time despite explicitly telling her that it's bad manners. Don't be like her please.

Some months ago I went to Japan and I was staying at my boyfriend’s house with his parents. We were having dinner and my boyfriend couldn’t pick up some food, so I offered to help him with my chopsticks. He said it’s bad manners and I was so embarrassed, because I had no idea about the meaning of that gesture. Later on he explained it to me and I felt so bad! But now I know, I guess 😅

Also, placing chopsticks erect on a bowl of rice is not just a taboo in Japan, but rather a taboo for Eastern Asia. I also heard that there's a Taiwanese superstition where placing the chopsticks in a bowl of rice will end the life of one of your parents early.

A couple of these seem like common sense to me, but others (like 迷い箸 and 仏箸) I would have never guessed. チップをありがとうございます! I don't think I'll be having a business lunch with Tempura Corp anytime soon, but you never know...

I've heard these from a few other TH-camrs like Shogo, but it's always nice to get a refresher on them.

Me and my family have done the stab the food thing with chopsticks many times before, because sometimes, its the most convenient way, even though we also have forks in the cutlery drawer, and we use chopsticks proficiently. Oops.
