Ooh! I’ve totally pondered buying those dice! They seem like a great idea for art block. As far as the dice you rolled, I immediately thought of a sunken ship, which doesn’t really have the love part in it, so then I thought of a skeleton couple in an embrace, in the ship on the sea floor. Yours was a LOT less dark than what my brain leapt to 🤣 Thanks for trying these dice out, and reminding me to go buy them 🫶✌️
Yeah, I would’ve stopped after like the fourth or fifth dice as soon as it said, ocean and purple I was like OK that’s my subject lol. Then it said man-made object and I’m like “man how more specific can this get?”
I just opened my Etsy yesterday and I feel like it sounds dumb but your videos and positivity are a lot of what has inspired me. I've been so scared to do it despite having always wanted to and I just wanted to thank you for always being so inspiring
Oil pastels aren't my favorite medium either but wow. Just wow. Those colors are luscious! Maybe that's the thing with oil pastels that lures me in, how delicious those colors look. Great job!
SO MUCH FUN! Endless possibilities. Please do make it into a series. Definitiely keep it loose and fun and let yourself just go crazy with it. Also don't be pressured to create masterpieces with it or show things that might go wrong. I think it's a great concept. love them. will totally buy these for my arty friends.
I make handmade greeting cards. Some days I make a few cards, and other times weeks go by and I’ve only made one or two. But a couple years ago I found the TH-cam channel for Craft Roulette, and she spins a wheel to come up with 4 different parameters that we all include in our cards, and it’s been the biggest inspiration for me! These dice reminded me of it. You need to exercise your creativity to put all the parameters into a cohesive piece. I love that. I even made up my own set of parameters and a random number generator so that I can go through the forgotten items in my own stash and make sure unused items finally get used. I’m loving it!
As someone who struggles with low self esteem and depression the mirror resonates with me. Its that sinking feeling when you look in the mirror but finding self love is what is needed. Beautiful interpretation.
I come from the Midwest, and one of my art pieces of Nikola Tesla ended up in a gallery in California. With the art I’ve seen you make, I’m sure you’ll see some of it hung up on display in multiple galleries!
You are my single favorite art TH-camr, both because of your talent and just how motivating and positive and zen your channel in. You’re single-handedly the one reason I haven’t completely given up on art. And I absolutely love this piece. It’s gorgeous and I love the meaning behind it.
Maybe try those little latex gloves type finger tip sleeves? I’ve seen them around… not sure what they’re called, lol- but that might help you be able to blend the pastels without the texture ick 💜 also there are silicone tipped sculpting tools that might be fun to try, too 🙂
Way to go "diving" into something new! I completely understand about the sensory stuff. After having my first son, I could not touch raw chicken or beef. It's been almost nine years, and I still struggle with raw chicken. And agree about pastels. A very negative sensory experience the one time I used them. 😅
Ah, okay this is really reassuring to read because the meat problem really got worse after my pregnancy too!! I have to keep nitrile gloves under my kitchen sink to cut up any kind of meat for my family haha. Sorry to hear your experience with pastels was also negative!
I got a huge box of 500 gloves for my kitchen because of the raw meat texture thing Plus it seemed like every time I was deep into mixing a meatloaf or something, the phone would ring or a child needed me. With the gloves I could quickly pull them off and tend to other things. Plus I didn't have to clean raw goo under my fingernails
This morning I looked in the mirror and nearly started crying. I’ve been in a life long battle with acne and it’s been bad for the past couples months. Out of all the videos I could have clicked on this morning, I’m so glad I clicked on this one because I needed this message!
I am living for this video! I love how you powered through and created something you were happy with even though you were out of your comfort zone! Please make this a series!
I have never seen ur style for the use of oil pastels, but after seeing it all come together now, it makes me want to try. It seems like a lot less messy and absolutely stunning
What an interesting and positive interpretation! I like how you achieved the impressionist look, too. Well done despite your wariness! I'm guessing using a white pastel would help blend without the sensory creepiness (?) I'd love to see this as a series. If I were creating this, my first thought was a wide angle scene (zoom out) (impressionistic) (pastel) (underwater) using lots of (purple) of a shipwreck (manmade) with two octopuses forming a heart shape (love) with two of their tentacles over their heads.
The dice that you rolled, gave me an amazing idea for a prompt. Obviously it’s too late because you’ve already filmed this, but there are underwater memorial resting places where people can have their ashes turned into statues or coral reef bases. Then you are added to a man-made coral reef to help build a new coral reef habitat under the water. It would be the perfect subject for an underwater theme of love using a man-made object.
Ps .. you will have to make a series as they don’t have them in the UK they are USA imports but don’t have this one, they have other prompts in the dice.
Have tried caren dache neocolor II. They are oil pastels that are water soluble so you can blend with water and paint brush! I just ordered the small pack to try them out and waiting on them now but Ive only heard good things about them and i think you would enjoy them.
Yes! I'd love to see this as a series. I laughed when pastels came up because yes you have mentioned a few times how you don't love them. They are actually my favourite medium. I feel like they are so forgiving. This did seem like a fun way to try something new in art but I would have to go with your rolls because I looked them up on Amazon Canada and they are $55.
I love it! When you were layering the water I wasn’t following but it really all came together beautifully at the end. I totally got the falling of the mirror great message. Thank you.
How can you doubt yourself? You are amazing! Also, just wanted to let you know I bought the big travel art/ make up bag..it is gorgeous and soo roomy and came packaged beautifully! And I got the peachy vibes sticker..yay!! Thanks so much! 🎉❤ Have a beautiful day!
This turned out gorgeous! I totally get what you're saying about pastels being an uncomfortable sensory experience 😆 I hated using contè crayon on rough textured paper back in my art classes, it made my skin crawl whenever my hands touched the paper. You could even try wearing a latex glove for materials like really dry pastels or charcoal sticks.
Same, I have to wear gloves if I work with chalk pastels at all, or when I sand paintings. It’s a sensory thing, I get goose bumps just thinking about it, ugh.
I love, love, love this video and concept!! I have been watching you for a couple years and I love the “serious” art projects that you do, but I love the spontaneity of this video. Such a good idea and I really like that you went with something out of your comfort zone. You are always lovely and positive but I can tell that you put a lot of pressure on yourself to create more “serious” art pieces, I get it, this is your profession and I am not criticizing that AT ALL, but I love that in this one that you just went with it and went out of your comfort zone, and seemed more relaxed and though you were a bit stressed in the beginning, once you started, you seemed to really let loose and enjoy yourself! I am like you and love to skip around with mediums, subjects, canvases (traditional, to wood, to obscure objects) and I like creating while watching you, and I love all the different things you do that give me ideas. I would love to see a series of this!!!
The art dice concept is very niceee , I like it! And I loved the result of the pastel painting you've made 😊 and yeah please turn it into a series! It'll be interesting to see what each time you get and what will you do! Have a wonderful day 🌸
I thought of an anchor as a man made object & thought that could definitely signify love really well too! It makes me want to pick up some chalk pastels and get messy!
These dice seem really fun and what a great tool to have when you can't think of what to draw or paint 😄 really like what you came up with, would love to see you do more of these in the future 🩷✨️
what a fun idea to do this dear what fun idea and Love your thought and it is so true we do and can get lost some times and not love yourself , it is so important to love ourselves. 💖
Aw, I like mixing oil pastels! It’s messy for sure, but it’s really fun for me! Someone recently shared about using those silicone things for polymer clay for mixing pastels, not sure if the sensory experience of that is any better than using qtips or other items… But regardless, that was an amazing drawing and I love how it turned out! No blending needed ❤ I would definitely love to see more videos like this
That was so great! You are so brave and of course talented. I hope you do make this into a series. And, don't feel like you need to roll every single die.
I have been following you for a while and you absolutely inspire me, always. I love the looseness of what you do. And I LOVE this project. I never want to use oil or chalk pastels, because I have trouble with the smudging it and stuff without it making a mess. I love how this turned out without using a smudge stick or something. The layering makes it look really smooth and nice!! Thanks for this video and show us how you use them. I have never seen it this way and I love it. Now I want to whip my oi pastels out and try this!!
You have inspired me to do get out my comfort zone and go bigger with my painting your videos ares so meaningful never fail to amaze me keep being you ❤
I got a set for Christmas but have been too scared to try them out. Watching you do this gives me courage to try it and permission to let the art be for the process not the potential product. ❤
I’m not only a style hopper but a craft hopper lol. I love ur videos and I was starting my new macrame kit project I got for Christmas from my parents while watching 🤗❤️
What a lesson in life, I believe we all share at times.... I'm nervous, not sure I like what I am working with. Can I really use what I must?. Do I have the nerve to try?, and on the concerns go. But we won't know until the patels & paper are picked up & put into action....or we get in the car & go, or meet with the person we need to, But you, Mira, remind me of David, who didn't look at the giant before Him, but looked up & threw the stone anyway as you did by rolling all of the dice, working with paints icky to you & found the adventure enjoyable. Lovely indeed! 😊💕
The height my puppy just reached jumping when you gasped 😂 he shot up and then watched the tv, looking back at me- then back to the tv. Oh I wish I could have caught this on camera. That was funny. Also, I’m the exact same way with pastel- I cringe thinking about the noise and feel of coloring with them. I love this idea!
Ooh man I had a few different ideas for what I might have done for this group of prompts. A diver who loves observing and being with underwater creatures, or uncovering new things like hidden artifacts? A mermaid who loves to collect discarded human garbage as a hobby (one man's trash, another.. mer's treasure! Lol), or maybe a mer that's come across a sunken ship with one of those beautiful sculptures at the bow, and first thinking it's real naïvely falls in love with it! Or how about a message in a bottle sent out to sea, maybe in memoriam of a lost love, perhaps someone that went MIA in treacherous waters and so they send out bottled messages every day in the hopes one will find them.. I never considered your story with the mirror, that was a very unique and interesting take and I enjoyed watching along 😊 this video had a very nice and comfortable vibe, and it unexpectedly sparked some of that old love that got me into art in the first place! Thank you 💚
Love this video! Awesome, unique, and meaningful piece you have created. I recently rediscovered your channel and Im so glad! Been watching your content non-stop.
I also like how at least you got pastels and then impressionistic and water - you couldn’t have gotten a better combo for that medium.
Ooh! I’ve totally pondered buying those dice! They seem like a great idea for art block. As far as the dice you rolled, I immediately thought of a sunken ship, which doesn’t really have the love part in it, so then I thought of a skeleton couple in an embrace, in the ship on the sea floor. I also first thought of a ship, then Titanic and the jewel that got tossed in the ocean at the end of the movie :P
Me too!
I like your idea.
Awe that sounds beautiful!
@@myrrysmiasi4866 me too!
I can't believe you rolled all seven dice 😮 I would have gotten so overwhelmed! the drawing is absolutely beautiful ❤
It was definitely overwhelming! In hindsight I probably should have rolled less haha. And thanks! 💜 I hope you're doing well!
Yeah, I would’ve stopped after like the fourth or fifth dice as soon as it said, ocean and purple I was like OK that’s my subject lol. Then it said man-made object and I’m like “man how more specific can this get?”

I'm literally no one special, but I want to say, "That's awesome and congratulations for taking the first step, you should be proud of yourself💜!! "
Oohh what’s your Etsy? That’s so exciting 🎉❤
What is your Etsy?
Yes, please make this a series! The piece turned out so beautiful
Man made object, the sea, that symbolises love? Message in a bottle, a love letter that was sadly lost to the waves.
The meaning behind this piece is beautiful!
Oil pastels aren't my favorite medium either but wow. Just wow. Those colors are luscious! Maybe that's the thing with oil pastels that lures me in, how delicious those colors look. Great job!
Sennelier are the best-so soft, creamy, and so blendable. They were created for Picasso to layer over his paintings.

Oh my gosh Mira this video was amazing and as always so inspiring please do a pt 2 ❤
Yeees, make it a series!!! I love the creative spark!

Very fun! I received the Art Dice for a Christmas gift and I love them! Definitely takes you out of your comfort zone - which is a good thing!
I have been so curious about these! I'm glad someones doing a video!

This would be a great series. I honestly loved this drawing and would love to see more oil pastels.
I hope the roll of the dice becomes something you do more of. Great video!
Turned out good. Awesome way of powering through the anxiety too. Would love to see you do more random prompts. Maybe a series even. So cool! ❤
Good idea, now i want to get a set. Keep up good work.

I made a watercolor octopus coming out of a treasure chest with some groovy flowers. And you tooootally sold me in the dice. They were so helpful! ❤
Ooooo loved this! Would love to see you do more!
That was fun and love the results! Brilliant 👌
To be honest, I think you should try pastels more often and challenge your discomfort. Looks pretty good! Well done!
Thank you! I don't enjoy using them, so I doubt I will use them much in the future lol!
What an interesting and positive interpretation! I like how you achieved the impressionist look, too. Well done despite your wariness! I'm guessing using a white pastel would help blend without the sensory creepiness (?) I'd love to see this as a series.
