I use NX Studio for my Nikon files. I tried dark table but the results were just plain awful. I’ve not used the premium version of Lightroom mobile but I would say works similar to the free version for iPhone dng files.
Even though the other app tab is there to connect. It will just launch the DNG file or the actual raw depending on your setup. To open a tiff file, you have to export the file first, not the direct link to other app way. Hope that helps. If not just ask🥃🥃
I'm quite excited to begin using this now free program and incorporate it into my existing LR and PS workflow. As to HDR merge, Capture One doesn't offer it either, and it's an ultra high end program.
Yeah, it does a great job. But have you used LR lately?... they upgraded the functionality of raw for Nikon and tether use. You get the color profiles from Nikon now... I was surprised to see that yesterday... colors look much better.
The lens distortion correction is the killer for me. I need that for interior work. I was hoping it would do a good job. The tool in capture one isn't very good either. Is there a batch export tool.
A heavy user of the capture nx-d here. I really wanted to like the NX studio, but the app is so buggy man. simply switching to next photo after editing it, will make it forget the adjustment i just made. That is just lame. And exporting photos has a bug too, sometimes its possible, sometimes its not possible to change the dimensions of the photos to be exported. That really sucks. Nikon must get it fixed asap.
You can download it from the support page of the NikonUSA website and it is compatible with all Nikon products. If you want to see thumbnails of the raw files, you may want to download the NFE Raw driver as well. Enjoy 🥃🥃🍀😁
I've tried it and edited one photo and it was brilliant. I went to edit my next photo and then the image was completely white. I've tried adjusting everything the best I get is extreme RGB elements. I re-installed and got the same result. Shame as it seems to work brilliantly for everyone else.
Replacement NO. Does not take DNG from Leica or unstack for dynamic range or provide multi focus of two or more images to provide one photo with all in focus. For Nikon only and straight photography is really good.
FYI - I use Nikon Capture (and hopefully, soon, Nikon Studio) to replace Photoshop's RAW renderer. Not Photoshop itself. I want Nikon to render my NEF photos, not Adobe.
Good to see Nikon still building this program. Still miss the original NX-2 program they had 12 years ago. Unfit thrust had to end it because Nik software sold to Google. Nikon built this program 10 years ago and at first it was awful.
I completely forgot about that. I did purchase nik software and loved it, but forgot i had it. I don’t even know if it’s still a good key. This app though, is very decent. So if u like to use it, it ain’t bad. I’m just so used to Lightroom cuz it’s much faster for what I do…
Please let Studio make changes to star and color ratings to my jpegs (and IPTC captions) without creating a new file. I am not asking to edit RGB pixels, just text and ratings to the photos I created with my Nikon cameras in order to organize them.
@@Aperture35 My issue is that I have a Nikon DSLR and a Fuji mirrorless. The thing that keeps me using Adobe is that Capture One won't work with NEF. Adobe is the best software I've found so far that works with both Nikon Raw and Fuji Raw. On1 doesn't have the built in optical profiles for lens corrections that you get with Adobe. Thanks for your comment.
Overall Adobe Lightroom and photoshop will be your go to software for profesional work. It’s fast and beyond the simple color correction. Regardless of what improvements NX Studio pushes, Adobe will always be better overall. Thank you as well Van!🥃🥃
No other software is going to give you the accuracy this program gives you with .NEF files. All the profiles are there, lens correction is perfect. Lightroom doesn't work as well as this program with Nikon RAW files.
You are absolutely right about the working files and specs. I just dived into it last week and noticed sharper images, better colors and corrections than Lightroom. So I do agree with u now 100%. Yet, I still believe this is for a few selected files. Because if u have an event, than this won’t cut the mustard. It’s too slow. That’s where Lightroom wins, even if the outcome isn’t as great.
Nikon has all the software I need except I shoot Leica also. The only way to get it into NX D is convert to tiff or JPEG. Leica is too small for own software, Nikon barely gets it done
It is not as easy as Lr. But it is a huge jump from what it was. It’s actually pretty smooth when using on newer systems. It lags like crazy when using files on an external drive or spinning drive. Best performance comes when files are on main drive and it is NVME. 🥃🥃
The fanboys will disagree. I have a fairly good pc & still it is slow. And then there's the options that are greyed out, even though I'm opening a Nikon NEF file. So it's a laugh when people suggest it's a replacement to LR
There is the undo or reset to original settings Option in the dropdown menu on top right... Control Z doesn’t work? After seen the new features lightroom made to Nikon files last week. It’s hard to move away from LR now. It supports Nikon color profiles now.
Photoshop is a retouch tool and if you don’t need it depending on your type of work... then, it could replace it if you ever used it at all. But in no way did I compared them in the video... in fact, all I did was mention the compatibility of the NX with photoshop. And they don’t work together in funnel like chambers... one needs to export files first before any adoring can be done in photoshop. Hopefully that cleared up the air. 🥃🥃

Can you do Frequency Separation with this software? If so, how?
tell me how to make the file open in the tiff format in Photoshop, and not in the DNG?

There is batch export. Much like LR, just select files you want to export and then click export...

I agree with you, many aspects of NX need to be address still. Are you working with files on your main drive or external via USB?
What are the "prior versions" of NX Studio you mention? This is version 1.0.
NX or NX studio was a paid program before and very slow. This is a re amped version, which works much better and free.
Where buttons Copy all adjustments, Paste adjustments ?
In video it shows at 4:25🥃🥃
@@Aperture35 Thx! why are there no buttons in the header? (

The only converter that immediately gives the real color, which was the subject of the shooting ...

Does this software have warp stabilizer. I need it for hyperlapse
It is very last minute, last option like editing here. Basic as can be for video editing... stay true to premiere or your NLE

I’m not sure what keys are stuck in your keyboard or what happened. But that’s completely odd for NX studio to do or any other program.
@@Aperture35 Just solved it! SOMEHOW the shadows function was ticked. Unchecked it - all good!!
There you go. Told you something was stuck. Good luck!🥃🥃
Did it improve in 2024?

Agree, the output quality from Nikon CNX or NIKON STUDIO can´t be surpassed
Can NX studio photostack?
NX can only handle color, anything else would be photoshop or Lightroom. No focus stacking, no HDR, no panoramics…
I agree! Please Nikon, make open in "Other Apps" work like Nikon Capture's "Open with"
Please fix the Open Apps command!!!!! *** Please ***
Yes, the other apps option should actually link with current settings to further edit. Thanks for the feedback. 🥃🥃

Excellent video
Glad you liked it🍻
Works well unless you try to use it with camera files other than Nikon.
That’s very true… this is a Nikon based software. It will read other mp4 files and jpegs, but raw files are limited to Nikon.

I just downloaded this software. I like macro photography. Can I do photo merge or stacking on NX studio?
I’m sorry to say… no. No HDR or other merging process. You will have to rely on lightroom, photoshop or otherwise 🥃🥃
What's the point of putting focus shift in z cameras if you can't merge them in NX studio ikon should address this over sigh.

What do u mean by Nikon barely gets it done?...🍻
Nikon's new Studio is just as Clunky as View, and just as User Unfriendly

Another con you failed to mention. You cannot create a color profile through the use of Passport Color Checker.
True…
