definitely gonna try this one 😋 Edit: Tried it and it is fricking delicious, I added LOTS of lemon to my sauce and I was amazed at how well the tart garlic sauce and sweet onions pair together, it is an amazing combination. For my sauce I did: - One garlic head - Juice of half a lemon - 1.5 tbsp mayonnaise (22g) make sure you fill the measuring spoon up enough and scrape it all out because that is just enough mayonnaise for the recipe (I'm on a diet) - Lots of salt and pepper The sauce came to 200 kcal and the entire sandwich with ALL the sauce 722 kcal. So not too bad for a nice lunch at all actually. That garlic sauce will be amazing with fries and fried chicken too, definitely gonna try that in a few days ooh and also fish and chips! About people commenting about the smell of breath afterwards, well I chewed some strong mint gum and waited about an hour then I asked my family members if they could smell any garlic/onions on my breath and they said no. And no, they weren't saying that just to spare my feelings, if it was on my breath then they would let me know without me even asking them 😭

I think a bit of gouda would be a nice addition if you had some on hand but definitely nothing wrong with this onion and aoli sandwich. When I was a kid I would often eat sliced onions on a piece of white bread with margarine or with peanut butter. It sounds gross but both are good options if you like onions.

My grandma taught me how to make an onion sandwich when I was a child, but it was certainly a lot less complicated. Thin strips of raw onion on two slices of white bread with mayo and mustard. 😂
