His neighbors must love him.
That’s funny!
lol
😂
Filterbank was always in my mind from when I just started with music production. Finally have that masterpiece in my rig
people like this are so inspiring, this is why I love electronic music. We are at the frontline of sound, but guys like this run forward to see how much further we can go.
Touched by this very genuine character
A little piece of modern music history, this interview.
Herman is the real deal. A real artist and a pleasure to be around. Thank you for bringing Sherman into the realm of sound.
A true pioneer and prolific music god.
Sherman is wild and beautiful.
This is the coolest thing I've seen since I Dream of Wires. Buying one, stat. Sherman is a f*kng genius.
You can put the shittiest digital sounds into the FB and they come out the other end baptized in analog glory. I've had my FB2 since 2003 and it's as good now as it was out of the box. So much of the sounds I've recorded that people ask "what the hell are you using to get that" is thanks to the FB2. With it's vast sensitivity and perimeters, it truly is an instrument onto itself. I love that the guy who builds the things is still boxing them up, that's so badass, who does that?
This Sherman is the daddy. Ima buy one and make the sickest Chickenstep.
this guy is a genius change the music forever
This man is a sound genius ,thank God for him, fantasticaly clear about what this machine is about. Now I'M gonna dig my Sherman out and have fun.Thanx great upload. DJ EXPAT

In analog:
“The ear is very sensitive to everything that is randomly evolving in sound.
All these things together going on in the analog domain. You hear it.
Digital is always having limits. The numbers have not enough information to describe all the convolutions going on.”
9:20----v
"There's infinite resolution in analog. In digital you have steps, numbers. Ones and zeros. There is nothing in between one and zero in digital."
THIS, MAN, GETS IT!
Humans are analog. Computers will never have infinite resolution, like the analog world does. Things are always changing in the analog domain. The musical mind will always be outside the digital world. There's a reason these boxes go for a lot, even secondary market.
Big companies are bs...equipment hand made by the creator is the best thing there can be!
Great interview :)
Ama Zeus lol, liked by Telekom
@@altenmuenster you made me laugh
Fascinating! Means even more that I just ordered the full size dual filterbank 2. Very happy!
Great interview, makes me want FB more and more!
I love you mr. Sherman.
I love this interview. Made me buy the FB2.
grateful for this video, what a special guy and a special instrument, thank you
Great guy - a little like a mad genius.
I'm picking up a SFB2 this week. I hadn't really heard any demos on TH-cam that were really making me want this - and then I watched this whole video and found it fascinating on multiple levels. Can't wait to try this out.
Please use it with your vox. His song titled "I've had enough" under Boris mikulic (you can find here on TH-cam) sounds amazing.
Cool, one men factory: developing, producing, packaging and sent to the customer by Mr. Sherman himself!
amazing
Genius
He i s a brilliant man.
mad scientist! i luv it
+CYPRN definitely! plenty more of them here as well: th-cam.com/play/PLfRh37c5lviugeRYrBc-Tp1wrX7OmfR9i.html

Hands up to him!
I will never be without my Sherman filter:)
Maestro!
Very happy with my filterbank!
He is nuts and we love it
Literally just ordered one.
Very good documentary
This is iconic
Que agradable sujeto
The rooster fucking rocks, and he knows his analog filters.
Had an FB2 was great, will get one again. Make a eurorack version PLEASE
With roosters in the background is the best 12:19. Still great video!
i F**kin love the sound of the sherman filterbank, wait - what is that a chicken? it reminds me of ramirez-el gallinero-bok bok bok bok bokAAAAAA
what a dude. bit like the lebowski of analoge filter manufacturers ... i´m not sure this would make a lot of sense for the music i´m doing but i love it and its awesome to watch. yes and of course the rooster
My jaw drops!!
i can't wait for mine! will be here tomorrow :p
It is so important to know why there is the need to know the rules. It is so necessary to understand why the rules need to be broken.
that good old Flenglish : - )
And some German and French words sprinkled in there too:)
Awesome use of the Filterbank, Mark Knopfler's Techno bro.
the einstein of modular synths
Awesome
I love how he says circuit. Sirquit. Haha.
how ‘bout “op amp”?
I regret selling mine so bad..;(( this guy is awesome.
underrated video on so many levels. pun intetnded
that's something I want
Classic!
really want this thing. have wanted one for years now. ugh
12:39 it's interfearing with the rooster brain!
I will never get rid of mine :)
I am inspired
"Infinite resolution in analog" yes he is correct. Absolutely.
Muy interesante. Genio!! 💭🎛️
The best Anti Rooster filter in the world.
***** hahahahah!!!!!
I was wondering what you meant...then got to 12 min and your comment floored me! hahaha
That rooster though
2021 Sherman owners! I'll never sell mine.
BE legend
Every techno producer must have one of those!!! Just check 8:36!!!!!!
very nice belgium product !
💙
RTFM. also ice studio...Juno 60, jp4 and jp 8, sh101..
Rooster: "Yeah, start there... definitely start there"
Been wanting one simce the early 1990s.
Love that 12bit Rooster 🐓 🐓 🐔
Does it have MIDI ie to clock LFO?😊
Hmm misschien moet ik toch nog die laatste versie erbij hebben 😂
Almost sounds like a chicken at some points , that’s amazing
i have one
And it's amazing how many people never actually use the inputs around the back
Vibe on people !! Wake it up
Wow, theres a guy who understand concept of analog / digital domain.
Would be cool to do a tube version.
that would be kind of redundant. You can already put a tube amp before the input or after the output for even harmonics.
the fucckin man!!
at 5:45 he is fing brilliant and quite right that the engineers are in fact wrong. Bloody right.
7:35 :) mad man
Pull back camera 2, and you see he's talking to a freekin' tennis ball on a stick.
is that an actual rooster I hear
I love the Cock-a-doodle doo, listen from 12:02 (-;
I dont agree with him, what he says about digital "steps" - there are none...That said: I have mine since 2004 and I still love her for her raw quirkiness!
He was right about interferences between sinewaves, though. Guy simply described digital aliasing.
Read The Macking Fanual
FUUUCK i want it :O
actually he said "RTMF-people" which means: READ THE MUCKING FANUAL!!! and THAT'S the only way u can get to understanding the sherman :D
read the fucking manual
In electronic music the technicians are the heroes not the guitar players. 👍🇨🇦😷
Comestibles the kikeriki also from the filterbank?
cokadoodle dooo!
Sorry I sold mine 8 years ago
Maybe one day I'll get another
10:51 READ THE MUCKIN FANUAL
Anyone with some experience and this filterbank? Looking for a cheap limiter & high pass filter as I read it could destroy my setup. Thanks for your help!
PS: Love the chicken-sounds in the background
@@ervinreszler7807 Hey man, I bought one only two months ago... I think if you're looking for something to make precise surgical cuts or operations in general for like mastering or so you need something else but for being creative with the Sherman filterbank is best. It can destroy your speaker because the Hertz of its LFO can go below what your speaker is able to reproduce, so the membrane will swing too slow and therefore lose air and will burn... if I understood that correctly!?. Anyway great sound and distortion, I really enjoy working with it
Haha yeah.
are we hearing the filterbank only or is there stuff running through and out like a synth r so?
***** through a synth. Filterbank need a signal.
Also can be fed by midi and be used like 303 :)
distort the rooster
His garden birds are making weird sounds :)
he looks like father for one of bitwig guys
lol @ rooster
