They did a good job showing you a variety of Korean cuisines in LA. They definitely went more traditional. You need to add BCD Tofu & Louders to your list!
I’m so blessed to be able to grow up with all this food, it’s truly amazing and you’ve only scratched the surface! Solid spots you visited, thank you for being open-minded and respectful ✨ can’t wait to see you try more foods from our culture 🫶🏻
OMG!! Great first Gareth Eats episode. I soooo need to get down to LA and hit these places... maybe not the corn dog joint. So funny and really delightful. BRAVO!!!
The cold noodles with broth is my favorite dish in the whole wide world! Your buddy took you to legit places. Soowon Galbi especially is legit and glad he took you there instead of Park's.
OMGGGG the chicken spot is right across from La Guelaguetza 😮😮 now i know!! Can get amazing oaxacan food for breakfast and leave with some Korean fried chicken for lunch heck yeah!
Fun vid! I haven't been to K-town in ages- so miss it!! I've always wanted to try the corn dog with cheese- looks delicious!...Well, the whole vid looks delicious
I’ve been watching your travel adventures, I love your travel vblog and now your GarethEats will be one of my favourite “EATS” vblog! Now you’re talking! Booyah!
all of these places are in my neighborhood and because I am not korean a lot of the korean bbq spots and traditional korean places seem so intimidating but after this I will give it a try and after watching this im DEFINITELY headed to papas chicken then over to oakobing! thanks for the food crawl!❤
On your Instagram live this morning, clicked on your bio and watched this video loved it!! Great stuff going to LA next week to check out the Korean bbq place .Thanks for all your great content also have been to a few places in San Diego loved the birria place on your video and a few places in Tijuana and Rosarito will continue to watch all your new content.
Thumbs up for the sides, especially kimchi and pickled radish. I wonder if they serve seafood. I need the desserts. A side note: it is me, or is Gareth's mouth opening wider than ever before?
Happy birthday, man!! I was on my way here anyway, but I came here right after your live stream! That galbi jjim looks so tasty, as do the Korean barbecue and chicken wings! A fantastic debut video for the Gareth Eats channel. Of course, I can't wait to see more here, as well as more on your other channels as well!
@@oceanrocks yes park’s for taste, quality and service and it’s in Michelin guide. Quarters is good too but not at par with quality and service is so so. Quarters has more fun environment than Parks.
@@GarethEats yes, park’s is so OG. I couldn’t believe the service too. They are top notch. I’m not saying Korean service is bad lol but mostly u go to Korean restaurant for the food not service. Quality of meat in Park’s is top notch as well..
Hahaha Agree with the cold of naengmyeon throwing me off. My ex boyfriend was Korean and he loved it, so not my thing - but Korean beef bbq with tons of banchan and soju is my favorite meal of all time. I am also a true Buffalonian, born and raised - cant get pizza and wings anywhere else. Respect to Rochester!
Try Mochinut next time for Korean corn dogs. They have multiple locations. The donuts are awesome too. Went to Oakobing a few years ago for my nieces kindergarten graduation celebration, it was so good!! It’s perfect during the summer 🍧
everything looked so good! I'm going to be taking a trip here in a couple of months and definitely will be checking out these places. I was wondering about food prices??
hello geats, thank you for the Los Angeles crawl. in the 25 years of the movement of Korean slowly growing faster in restaurant business, the Chinese kind of moved out. did not like the corn dog idea but the different not spicy jigae and dessert with fruits are nice. the tea with milk was mentioned a little for tea in our asian restaurants. a pot of tea in our round table - you can ask for sweetened and may be they have milk at dinner time. elle for vanilla w mango
Mul Nangmyung is my favorite dish... Its so uniquely Korean. The refreshing crisp with the cold meaty broth, there is nothing really like it. With hot meat its like the perfect combo....
I usually pick my KBBQ place based off my mood. Party mood? Quarters. ACYE? Hae Jang Chon. More a la carte? Too many to name! If you do Japanese food, I recommend Yazawa for something upscale.
Chillin with subscribers. That's cool, not sure why more YT's dont do this. good korean food in LA no doublt, almost as good as Vancouver! no Gamjatang tho? cmon!
@@GarethEats Yeessssss bro. South Castle Korean Restaurant in North Van, not far from downtown. Dine-in is back. They have authentic Sundae, tastes as good as you would get in Seoul, SK. Sura Korean downtown is the best "fusion" place probably. but if you want to drink like a Korean then late at night try - Hongdae Pocha (near Sura) for the atmosphere. Soju and Samgyupsal to your hearts content.
hi, i like your videos but, is it possible to add the prices? Im from colombia , and we're traveling to the west coast in 2 weeks and I want to try good meals but I also need to be aware of the prices because of the money exchange
I have never heard anyone call naengmyun a snow cone or slushi. The cold will grow on you. As she explained it is not tempura (Japanese) - it is a rice batter. What makes Korean fried chicken unique , sauces aside, it is double fried which is why it is crunchy and not greasy. You do a disservice to Korean cuisine by oversimplifying it rather than understanding it. While I appreciate that you are clearly open to trying new dishes not everything can be fit into 2-4 boxes of familiarity. The guy in the cap gets Korean bbq. The Korean friend gave you a legit Korean food experience.
I don't get why the plastic glove?? it's fried chicken, Like BBQ ribs, you eat and get down and dirty. Gloves to eat finger food. The best part is sucking your fingers when all is finished 😂 ✌👍.
We have been hosting Chinese students for years and one issue I have is sharing food from the same plate , food Falling out of your mouth back on the plate , everyone putting utensils in there mouths and back into the same plate,😂 I always have to grab what I want first then let everyone go at it , my theory on why covid spread so fast through Asian countries
Thanks for watching everyone! ❤I hope you enjoy this new spin-off channel dedicated to food! 🍕🤗🌮
Thanks, future me!
Awesome experience 👌🏼 thank you!
lol who doesn't like foods!🤣

My fave all time Ktown food is Park’s ( so OG). I haven’t tried Papa’s chicken so thank you. Kyochon used to be my fave. Great food review 😍

AWESOMENESS

You're Welcome Bro
I introduced my boyfriend to the nyangmyeon (cold noodles). He loves it! Every time we do Korean on a hot day, he craves it.
Korean fried chicken is the best❤️!!!

Quarters lost its way. Been going for several years and the quality and service is not there. I’d rather go up the next block and head to Mun

whos this Oppa! in this video!? 🤩

That is a good way to think about it, Natalia! I will try that next time 😅

Yes, hotdogs are also gluten free, yahoo ....you're supposed to eat cheese side first, so it's stringy and melted perfection.

Personally, im not a fan of the sugar covering the corn dog. it was too sweet. it was like eating a donut
why don't you come to Korea for original food of Korea's spirit
