Wow, it's incredible to see old footage (just 5 years ago) of Jim's yard. Today it looks so much darker and nutrient rich. He's has put so much work into growing his soil.
Just relistening as I harvest the fields, love jim and Pete. I'm in the PNW we pay for yard waste disposal, we also have yard and compost bins as part of Garbage and recycle. They have a company that has 4 locations, and they finish and create compost. P/u prices vary but 40+ per yard for their finish compost mulch. And they have a few different products. Top soil, chips, rock, etc. I'm trying to get a friend who has 32 acres to let me get a compost program started! Great use of the land, and it goes back into the land and our stomachs!!!!
Pete, I love your videos they are very very cool, but by far my favorites are with Jim Kovaleski he is amazing what a knowledgeable humble man, I wish one day he can see how all his kindness and sharing teach My family and I and see what we are building in our home garden !!
Oh Pete I wish we have a Filipino just like Jim here in Cebu, Philippines. I am hoping to retire in 36 months from today. Thanks for bridging Jim's wisdom to us here through your videos. Thank you so much Jim.
Loved this video. Love Jim, great energy and very knowledgeable. He gives hope of growing to everyone no matter where they grow. FYI, some of us can't afford a membership!
Pete thank you for taking the time to video and share this. I truly am inspired by men like you and Jim. Great to see people not just muddling through life but truly enjoying what they do to earn a living!!
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL I went to LOOK AT mobile home WITH own lot land NEXT to us 19 HIGH way THEY WANT cash BUT value is in the double LOT LAND really WANT THIS LAND FOR $32,000 Can PUT 2 mobile home
That's cool in Newport Richy that they drop off mulch for free. Here in St Pete we have to pay for delivery from the city. It's still worth it to have them come once a year and dump it
I got mulch from there a few years back. They have a loader if you go during work hours and will load up your truck. A worker warned me they have a pest problem in the mulch however. Not sure if things have changed. I have used the mulch from the saw mill on 52 lately for flower beds. They are a 2 yard minimum but it is only about 20-25$ there for 2 yards. Not sure how good their cypress mulch is for growing veggies. Thinking of trying back to Eden gardening and debating on the cities mulch vs tracking down some tree people for the mulch in their vehicle. The tree company doing the power line trimming will usually dump for free for you.
Hi Pete and Jim, I'm a new market gardener from Missouri. I started up this year and am learning about more with USDA . I'm 26 and looking to grow into a big market farmer. Here compost is 500 plus the fee for delivery is almost 1,500.
Awesome Kyle! Best of luck to you. That’s some pricey compost. I would stock pile all the free mulch you can get. It will break down to better than compost.
Thanks, and I built my own pallet compost bin and been using leafs and anything I can get my hands on for free. Building my own compost off of the land.
Pete looks so fit. Would be interesting to see how being in the garden all day has improved his overall health. I bet if he would score much lower than his actual age.
Jim is a great gardener Pete. However, I'm not sure putting video of his in membership is right. That's going to make it so lots of folks miss out. I can't afford membership and would love the knowledge. Sadly, Justin is resorting to membership video and content too. Oh well... Guess Myself and others like me will just have to enjoy whatever is on the main channel. Good video with Jim today, Thank you for sharing a long chat with him. I love it.
Tina Abrahamson. Tina, what is membership and what does it cost? All I know is someone I sub to put in link for Justin R so I went there and had to put in email and password to subscribe. What is THAT all a out and will it cost me? Sheesh!! Thanks for any light you can shine on this. Why is Justin doing it Dies it make him money???
Boom Boom yes, I did. I asked them in one videos comment space if there was any charge and they didn't answer. Justin is not playing fair. I hope I can get unsubscribed. He can't charge me without specifying that there's a cost. I understood that he has another site he charges for. are you sure the one I watch about his road trip costs???
WOW, l'm also 6 month a garden (upper New York to Port Richey) but NOT to Jim level . l so want to learn. thank you ! and Jim can l volunteer on my place?
What is eating my sweet potato vines? I've got little holes in the leaves, I looked and can't see anything. I have had to replant many of the slips because they are eaten up by something.
Thank you for interviewing and posting more from the amazing Jim! Love to hear from real people who make a living from growing not just a Utube self-promoter. Too bad about the sound and the length of the video it's too long. Better to break it up in two video's or condense in topics. Can you put JIm's resources on a link?
He is weeding to maintain for the neighbors. Meanwhile, they are spraying poisons that potentially travel to his organic food. The absurdity of chemical lawns.
Luckily in this area of Maine no one uses chemicals, there are no “lawn spraying “ companies. But yes I’m sure in many situations that might be the case.
I love the idea of buying some propagation vids from you to support the channel, but I just wanna say that I wouldn't want to pay until you've got good mics for you and your guests! The wind and changing volume levels makes it difficult to catch everything! Thanks for all the freebies though :) Loving the explosion of information coming from your channel. edit: apologies on skipping over the info in the description! doh

We definitely need more small scale farming. This is absolutely inspiring.
Ooooo, Jim's introductory video. I've seen a lot more recent stuff (the last couple of years) on him, but now just going back through the older stuff.
Pete, I love your videos they are very very cool, but by far my favorites are with Jim Kovaleski he is amazing what a knowledgeable humble man, I wish one day he can see how all his kindness and sharing teach My family and I and see what we are building in our home garden !!

Maya Greven are you doing the edible gardening? I just got land in NSB and am thinking strongly of doing so.
His powers of observation are so honed in! I would have never made the connection to salty water! Thanks for sharing! 👍

Hey Pete, very nice video ! You mentioned an edible flower in min 35/36. What's the name of it exactly? Thanks!
That's cool in Newport Richy that they drop off mulch for free. Here in St Pete we have to pay for delivery from the city. It's still worth it to have them come once a year and dump it
Our Florida Garden definitely and amazing free resource. In California they they tree companies dump for because they know the value.
jims great with his methodology. loved video.

Thanks for the great video. At 14:39 of the video, Jim mentions someone but I couldn't catch it. Could you please tell me who he/she is?
Hasan BIDE | He's talking about Singing Frogs Farm (singingfrogsfarm.com) in CA.

Jim has grass-fed free-range vegetables!!

Craig Sipe we've been propagating it for two years now. We'll be offering it our the website soon as it's ready.
Was that a "green egg" fig, the pool ball size ones? I'd love to buy one too , are they available now?
Pete looks so fit. Would be interesting to see how being in the garden all day has improved his overall health. I bet if he would score much lower than his actual age.

Cheryl Stahlman that's awesome! Jim doesn't do well working with others, you could try. He used to take Volunteers but stopped.
Here in Bermuda we make loquat Jam
Nice!
Does all that mulch not suck out all your nitrogen?
Nope. It’s almost compost and fairly well broken down.
everydays a long sunny perfect temperature day for jim lol
What is eating my sweet potato vines? I've got little holes in the leaves, I looked and can't see anything. I have had to replant many of the slips because they are eaten up by something.
Flea beetles work fast and hard to see if your not really watching your plants ...?
Money grows in free mulch!
Take a shovel of your compost put it in a pillowcase in a big bean of water let it rest 24h and you have a tea compost for free for yourr garden
every jim word has a hand movment

I hate torpedo grass!!! I am fighting that stuff on our homestead.
