Jake Paul isn't about boxing. It's about generating cash through "entertainment" with a pretense to being a boxer. Two minute rounds? 14oz gloves? 58 year old opponents? It's not professional boxing, it's playing at the edges to get a huge pay day. Worse - it works!

@@GregM-ws4hq At that point, the problem is that people are willing to pay for this nonsense. There's no "fight" without paying audience members. If Paul has any talent, it's in knowing what people will pay for whilst taking few risks himself. People actually tuned in to this - madness.

People wanted to see Tyson turn back the clock. Jake sold them a dream and paid Mike $20 million in the process to use his name to build an event. Fair play to him. He paid Taylor and Serrano a reported €6.8 and €8 million respectively from the takings. What other promoter would even come close doing that? . . . As you say this isn’t boxing. If there is an issue it’s that this has gained so much traction because boxing doesn’t have its own house in order.

I think I speak for everyone here when I express my wish for Canelo Álvarez to step up and do what he doesn't want to do and get in the ring with Jake. If only to knock that ***** into another dimension for all the true fans of professional fighting. Otherwise, how far will this farce go? Will he be fighting muhammad ali's tombstone next? It is beyond me how that kid can walk away feeling glory from such an event. He must have some shame, surely?

What if he doesn't though? Canelo is 5"8. He's not a 225lb fighter. I'm fed up of him fighting old people, small people, people who aren't even boxers. He should be fighting actual cruiserweights/heavyweights. But then the Jake Paul show dies doesn't it.. so he won't do that.

It was definitely not the fight I wanted to see. You think maybe Jake did this to throw Mike a bone so to speak. He gave him a huge payday, at the cost of being crucified by the public. When helping someone, never let the right hand know what the left hand is doing. His motive was pure. He helped Mike financially, and gave him the opportunity to do what he loves. Train, and go in the ring again. They both knew the script, hence while both held back. We the public didn't, until it was over.

People bet on this fight thinking there was a chance. People got swindled. Jake Paul told us all this would be the greatest event in the history of the world. We saw less than 300 punches over 16 minutes. As for mike sure he is 58. As for Jake, this was the challenge that will cement his future as the greatest fighter to walk the earth in the past 4 years? This is a joke and makes boxing look very bad.

Paul doesn’t put on fights he puts on a spectacle. To be fair to him he paid Tyson $20 million to use his name to build an event and have a little move around in the process. He didn’t go after him and he carried him through the fight. He also kicked Taylor and Serrano a larger chunk of the takings than any other promoter would have dreamed of doing. The problem here is that older fans like myself are slow to understand what is actually going on. He paid Mike for his name and cultural pulling power to create an event. This wasn’t about a fight between him and Tyson.

he we go with the Tyson bully remarks from Adam Smith, I'm surprised by his lack of knowledge basically saying anyone that stood up to Tyson beat him. Plenty of fighters were not scared, they were just outmatched. Tucker wasn't scared, caught Tyson, tried and failed to outbox him, Tillis did well against Tyson, not scared at all and lost on points, Berbick wasn't scared and saw Tyson as a kid but was blown out in two, Pinklon Thomas took ass Tyson had, did well with the jab but was eventually blown out. The biggest example is Razor Ruddock, not scared at all, even hurt Tyson bad in the rematch but still lost. Tyson lost against great fighters, there no shame in that so why with the bully comments Adam?

@@larrysellers7891 only once he started getting pounded on. he was quite dismissive of Tyson, wearing the black shorts to psyche him out. Berbick was trying to go toe to toe with Tyson if you watch that first round. the point is, not all fighters were terrified. Was Tucker? was Ruddock? Adam is basically saying, anyone that wasn't scared won.
