It can be so discouraging to hear people say that my marriage may not be restored. But I believe it will, God told me He would restore my marriage. And I have postured myself to work on myself and allow God to work on my husband. I am also trusting God for my teens hearts to also turn back towards God. Even when I struggle or anger surfaces I take it to God and lament to Him and then I ask forgiveness for my anger and hurt, give it back to God and thank Him for all He is doing and will do. I speak scripture in prayer and worship or listen to biblical teaching (like this) to get myself only back in an attitude of gratitude. Sometimes the teachings are about marriage some times they are not, as long as they are biblically based and teaching God’s character as the Bible teaches they bring great comfort…truth brings comfort. Then I can walk in peace even though nothing has seemed to change (in the physical) because I know God is working in the spiritual. Even if I drift into wanting to give up by the time I am done with this process I confess that I am not giving up…I am believing and trusting God.

My wife walked out on me 14 weeks ago tomorrow. I've looked back and put the pieces together to see emotional abuse from her so I don't know what to ask God for anymore.
I guess I'm praying for God to convict her heart about leaving but also for the abuse she gave. My greater prayer is for God's will, wisdom, and direction to take place.

We tend not to realize it's ALL about salvation of self and of the prodigal spouse. When the prodigal returns to God he/she realizes what they have done and return. But it takes a REAL relationship with God first. And God does all the work
I agree, it's just difficult when you know even as the non prodigal spouse, you made mistakes in the marriage that they use to justify there choices or rejection of God.

My wife left August 2020 and we married September 2012. I was sick from 2015 right up until she left. I understand that she had many burdens to carry at the same time.( her mom was dying of lung cancer, her 2 boys were living in tumultuous circumstances, her boss was hateful towards her and my health.) I thought there was times when she was going to come back but the past year or so, she is more resentful towards me than ever. I still miss her so much but she blames me for a variety of reasons. I was a Christian but i wasnt really living for the Lord and she was way more devoted. But it seems that it has really reciprocated now. Im asking for restoration prayers and healing of her heart from anger, bitterness, resentment etc.. i know that im supposed to stand in faith for both of us and let God work in her spirit and soul. I needed videos like this when me and my husband were separated. It was soooo hard to remain positive with him saying he doesn’t want the marriage . I held on to God promise of restoring our marriage. He did just that. It is a work in progress as we both grow closer to God. My best advice is to focus on God during and after restoration. You will need him to sustain you. To God be the glory
God desires to restore the husband and wife to Himself first, marriage restoration (of the one flesh, covenant marriage) will be a beautiful fruit of God's work in them.

Yes, "...the enemy confronted me in the day of my calamity." SO real. My wife and I both are Spirit-filled and called, she's a minister and I have 14 years on worship teams plus intercessory prayer. We separated in January 2022 and torment began, no sleep, making it harder to fight the thought battles. God HAS A PLAN though. I spent years praying for my Pastor and church and when I saw occasional errors He would always tell me, don't say anything, pray about it. And I would see change. I do believed God wanted to restore my marriage. But now, after 28 years, my husband divorced me and worse, he left me for the woman he has been involved with. I’m shattered and my world seems forever dark. This holiday season is absolutely brutal. Every morning, every day, I surrender the pain, the hurt, the feelings of abandonment and neglect, and even my desire for the marriage to be restored. I know he needs healing and only God can do that. But my God, this daily pain and disappointment threatens to break me every day. My God, how much more!! It is not true that God will not give you more than you can bear because this is unbearable.
The only way forward for everyone is the original marriage and covenant made with God, after nearly two years of separation I found another woman, it was so wrong of me to do that I should have fought harder.
It's never too late I am standing for my marriage although legally divorced last year separated in total 6 and a half years I know God doesn't recognise divorce and I pray that our spirits and souls are fully restored especially our children who were greatly affected, God can cleanse and heal us and bring us back to him.
You’re correct that it’s not true that God doesn’t give us more than we can bear. That is not biblical. He does allow more than we can bear so that we become fully dependent on Him. I’m sorry you’re going through this. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Your husband will not be happy without the Lord. Keep leaning on Him.

I have been standing for my marriage for 4 years after being abandoned, emotionally abused, neglected and completely told that my husband never loved me and that he came into our marriage knowing how many years he was going to spend with me. I'm not perfect but I could never lie to someone about something so sacred. Love is a gift from God we should never take it for granted. I'm finally ready to do what I need to do for myself. Our children are ours. If we divorce our spouse he's no longer ours. That's why they say they will die for their children with confidence. Once a child is raised up correctly and your spouse is out there sleeping in the world. Who wouldn't choose to die for their children over a man who can change his mind without notice?

Hi,i am Stephanie,husband moved out in 2019 and went for divorce in 2020,we are still in battle of the divorce proceedings,as he dont want to give me lifetime maintenance and medical aid, and change his settlement documents for the 4th time,but i refuse to sign because i have to make proper decisions,for the sake of our son who desires to go study next year,as the woman he is involve with controls him not to be in his son's life,my husband is an ordained pastor, and that woman is busy with evil dark witchcraft which break the marriage, so she can have my life,she was attending church with us,my husband was the leading pastor,and they said that they are doing nothing wrong for being involve,as long as his parents and family accepts their affair

I believed this, prayed and fasted for this for almost 11 years. Suffered betrayal trauma from his lies and financial abuse, been neglected, ignored, blamed for everything, disregarded, discarded, replaced by porn and masterbation, been yelled at and hurt in every way. Yet, I've stayed and been a faithful and praying wife. Instead of getting better he's only gotten worse. He refuses to accept or acknowledge any wrongdoing, much less seek or acept help. "Nothing is impossible for God...." except intervene in someone's free will. If my husband doesn't want to stop his sinful life and surrender himself to the Lord, nothing I can do will change that. So, what now? I've been to Christian therapists, pastors, Chaplain, and women's ministry leaders trying to save my marriage and heal my brokenness caused by my husbands betrayals and abuse. What has he DONE to show me he wants to change? NOTHING.

Oh kat. I feel your pain and I'm so sorry for it. I know you have wanted a outcome, and I can't say why you haven't seen a turn around. But I know God loves YOU and YOU need healing.
Is he a believer? Not all marriages are God-ordained. If he has been unfaithful and/or other forms of abuse, you are not bound to him in those situations. You need healing more than anything.

I been divorced for 2 yrs was married for 33yrs husband and I both became Christian’s , during these 2yrs of divorce we never really! stopped seeing each other.I got cancer now I remission, and he been with me through it. Why not just take care of you and who concerns you and move on? Why would you want someone like him anyway. Abuse, Abandonment and Adultery are 3 grounds in the Bible God says we can divorce for. Why pray for restoration when God's word doesn't return to him void?

I have a dear friend, she AND her husband taught a life group BIBLE STUDY. THEY are BOTH on FiRE FOR JESUS. yet he cheated on her. Lied to her. Left her. AFTER 23 years of marriage. He did NOT want Christian counsel. She prayed MORE than ANY soul I know. She submitted. She surrendered. She wept and prayed and GAVE him to JESUS. but he divorced her and wants NOTHING to do with restoration, etc. and he STILL boasts and preaches and teaches ALL about JESUS. so WHAT was she to do. She signed the divorce papers. Now she met an amazing man who IS all that she has ever wanted in a Godly man TRULY seeking the Lord. But I ponder …. HOW does this happen and what is right? They BOTH did NOT ever seek ANY NON Christian counsel. This similar story has happened to THREE friends.
Do it! Any good Christian counsel is good-especially if you ask strong, mature Christians to stand with you in prayer.
Go online, too, and find Christian groups like the African Inland Mission or other missionary groups to help you pray. Lots of prayer warriors out there to stand with you.
Think of the phalanx from the Roman army. They stand together and their shields protect each other. A phalanx is not easily taken down.
I just prayed for you, Fritz, to have comfort, restoration, and to find other Christians to stand with you.
