Lived on a station in Queensland growing up. Always check the vehicle and your spares before you go. Take extra food and water, keep some tin food in the vehicle at all times. Tools, such as spanners, sockets screwdrivers and a hammer. Tape and wire (plain fencing) This is just a general comment and not directed at any one. When changing tyres or making repairs, chock the vehicle. Always have something between the chassis and the ground (such as a spare tyre) in a 4wd sometimes under the axle is better. A falling vehicle is deadly if you're under it. A fallen vehicle can be very difficult to jack up if your axle is touching the ground. Lastly, always tell someone when, where and when to expect you by in case you don't make it back.
First time watching and brought back memories when I worked up in Weipa on the RAAF base as an electrician, very hot and hard lifestyle but great experience cheers to your hard work I know from experience. 🖖

Wow it brings back memories its all hands on deck when working at cattle stations . Long hours n the pay packet is bloody good n also the experience . I gave 5 years of my life at the cattle station where i worked up north very hot but u get use to it after awhile .
Greetings all the from the Lone Star State (Texas). Seeing all of the cattle reminds me of the time that my family owned a cattle ranch. Unfortunately we sold the ranch in 2004 after my dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2001, seeing these videos sure make me miss the cattle ranching days.
G'day Damian, Texas would be a change of scenery for us. We have never been to America but it might be on the cards in the future. Glad you enjoyed the ep.
Bought back memories of working on victory downs station during my year in Aus. The early starts were a killer but learnt so much! Fencing has to be the worlds worst job though did you guys do much of it?
My uncle put one of his horses into a free calf pen next to a full pen of calves once (all his stables were takin up and the weather was too bad to leave the mare outside) and the calves took a liking to eating at her tail, a calf choaked and died and i remember pulling hair out of a few throats.....that happend more than once, he didnt learn the first time i gues😂
Music could be better, for this sort of video, also don’t try to record and talk in the wind , otherwise good information on the station , looks like you are enjoying the work .
Top vlog looks so interesting and could be a great way of life you guys have enjoy
Beautiful country down there! It’s on my bucket list visit this beautiful country

i would love to live and work on a cattle station in Australia. Looks like paradise to me
Where were you brought up and where do you live now?
@@johnnunn8688doesn’t matter where as long as you know how to do the job
@@jordancullen4134, it most certainly does matter. Outback Australia is a shocking place if you are not inured to it.

Hey Jack, the station is that big that they only fence around the bores, so no we didnt do much of it.
That’s what I do I’m a contractor caretaker on large properties in the west and northwest Qld cheers 👍🍻🇦🇺

Oh my that's different, silly things need constant care haha.
I swear calves are like toddlers!
how do you go about getting a job at a station?
Nice 🥃 👍🏻
How do they get power to move the water? I saw no solar panels or electric lines???
Hey Jack, they have diesel pumps and solar pumps.
Sparkys on the loose Is underground water to deep for windmills?
@@jacksprat7087 They had windmills but they were too much maintenance. Solar is by far the best for them.
STEP 5, clip that thieving cat around the ear!
Really basic question, cattle eat grass. There appears to be no grass. How do they get by.
They eat the natural plants, plenty of food for them out there.
What those cattle eating not seeing too much grass
This centre of Australia doesn't grow grass, more plants and flowers. With the amount of cattle and how healthy they are, I wouldn't worry too much 😀
Music could be better, for this sort of video, also don’t try to record and talk in the wind , otherwise good information on the station , looks like you are enjoying the work .
What sort of money roughly would a station hand make?
Minimum wage usually.
Why so many bottle calves?
They just had the muster and being the largest privately owned theirs a lot of cattle.
What station were you guys on?
How can I come work ther 😉😉
With hard work and dedication.
What station was this ? Great video btw

sound and music i very bad gott turn it off?
Not that bad, good content?
Red planet
That water looks nasty!
It did need a full flush but with the amount of cattle it's wasn't going to happen. It's fresh bore water entering so nothing stagnant.
I want to work with you as a farm hand if you sponsor me I am from pakistan

How about no music?why do you feel it necessary to use it? Your commentary is all that's needed. My humble opinion
Just keeps the flow going. Check out our newer episodes, we have improved a lot. Thanks for the feedback.
