  • The saw is running a 24" bar and RS chain. So far the saw is very impressive, with lightning fast acceleration and unbeatable power weigh ratio.

    I purchased the saw at Sayler Park Ace Hardware 6571 Gracely Drive

    oh dear when the dealer started it for the first time, zero warm up and went full throttle that really made me cringe!

      No worries, it was real warm out, that does make a difference, I do prefer to worm them up no matter what.✌

    Thanks for the video and heads up on the 500i . I'm about an hour and a half north of you , as soon as i saw this i called the dealer and they still had them in stock and said they would hold one for me till i could get there . My local dealer has had 2 ordered for a good while now and weren't sure they would even get them . I did decide to give my dealer a call before i hit the road for Cincy and as luck would have it they had just gotten shipment of their two 500i's and had one held back for me . What a day , either way i finally have one in hand . I'll be putting it in the wood tomorrow . I did fire it up at the dealer for the first start , 3 pulls like yours on a dry saw , pretty awesome .

      Awesome! Have fun with the saw. Yeah I missed the last order in late July, the dealer I mentioned had it sold to a local tree company, it was promptly taken off the back of their work truck.

      @@Andyshine77 Hi bobe , just had a quick question for ya . I'm putting on a set of 1122 spikes and roller chain catch on the 500i and noticed the stock chain catcher is mounted with the bottom spike bolt . By eliminating the thickness of the stock catcher do you know if i 'll need a shorter bolt ? So far i love this saw . Thanks .

    • @Andyshine77
      @Andyshine77  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danclas5983 Great question. The bolt passes through into empty space, so if it's sticking out a little it won't harm anything, it looks like it won't do that though as there is some length left in the threads. If you look by the bottom AV spring you'll see the taped hole for the catcher. You could always just trim off the catcher and leave the flat metal to protect the case if you want.

    Have two in the shop now. Crank bearings and having to rebuild them, my dealer said just weak bearings. He had 10 or 12 of them in there all for the same thing.

    Maybe trimmers and edgers are next? Stihl makes a good trimmer and edger but in Florida they vapor lock in the heat and won't start mostly the 4mix engine good luck with your EFI they work great in my mowers👍👍🇺🇸

    . Both of mine failed in Nova Scotia. One had to go back to stihl and be rebuilt the other is still in the shop not sure yet what the issues are. Both saws quit at full rev cutting stumps. One was 3 months old and one was 7 days old. We used proper mix gas. We have 15 saws all being fed fuel from the same mix jug. We don’t use all 15 everyday but the 500i definitely have bad batches it seems. My buddy knows a few other ppl around here with issues. I’m definitely turned off from the model. But man oh man they rip when they do work.

    Is It made in the USA? 500i has been available widely in Europe for the past 2 years.

    Ok, she bucks nice. How do you like it for felling?

    • @Andyshine77
      @Andyshine77  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The AV is a bit soft so you need to compensate a little, but other than that the flat with power band really helps, and the weight us nice. For firewood I thing I like the 462 a little better, for felling I may go with the 500i or Husky 572.

    Does fuel injected mean no break in required ??

    • @Andyshine77
      @Andyshine77  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Saws don't really have a break in period. You just don't want to make any really extended cuts for the first few tanks of fuel.

    • @Andyshine77
      @Andyshine77  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whiskeytangofoxtrot9403 Saws are a bit different, there is no traditional break in period, IE running the saw at half throttle in the cut. Tune rich if you can, stay away from long cuts, let her idle a bit between cuts. Not running a saw hard enough soon enough can prevent the rings from from seating properly. Fuel injection or not has no relevance like you said.✌
