    A rim brake upgrade kit (so shifters + derailleurs) would be amazing I think, there would definitely be a market for that...

    The ability to switch between 10-11-12 rear clusters is fantastic, just keep an old 10 speed cluster on the turbo, and if they have designed the app correctly it should be super easy to swap between road and turbo use. To really take advantage of this , they should just have the option to set up different rear wheels.. so you could swap between turbo, 60mm, winter wheel etc all with their own indexing saved.

    At the moment I can buy the Shimano 105 Di2 complete group for 850.-Swiss francs online. I see no reason to buy an L-Twoo for 650.- without cassette and crankset. With shimano you know what you're getting and if something goes wrong you'll find replacement parts everywhere.

    • @ArteUltra1195
      @ArteUltra1195 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah shimano is pretty much failproof at this point, would trust my life on it not failing over a 200 mile ride.
      That’s A LOT more valuable than saving a couple of 100g (if even)

      And those of in other parts of the world have to pay $2300 AUD (about 1400 Swiss francs) for Shimano 105 if you can even get find it. $820 for eRX . And good luck geting any shimano spares from my LBS the are having to cannibalize full sets or you can wait 8 months maybe get something.

    They sent me a new battery case to solve the same issue and it's been flawless since. It's been a pleasure dealing with them and I think they've got a bright future. the shifting speed on this thing is mental!! I have other bikes with Di2 and Sram wireless and ltwoo shifts faster. Going to be offering it to my customers on custom builds soon.

    If you’re thinking of L-Twoo, I cannot strongly enough recommend against it. I have two group sets, the RX and the GR9, and they’ve been a disaster. Unfortunately, I don’t have the platform that GC/Panda/Trace has, so L-Twoo just dgaf about my issues, and I’ve been stuck having to replace both with Shimano/SRAM. All-in, I’m out 2x what I would’ve been just going mainstream in the first place.

  • @yisraels4555

    The problem with some Chinese companies trying to break into western markets is that they aren't quite ready with customer service and quality control. This seems to be a product with real potential. LTwoo just neededs to get their act together with QC and product development.

      Will it be surprise to you that people in PRC are:
      a) Less than fluent in English language to be able to speak with native speakers who want support;
      b) Generally smarter and less dependent on manufacturer so once they buy stuff they try to fix it themselves and only when they're out of options they're going to the official support service;
      c) Many of the stuff they buy and use don't have customer service since it's a fairly new idea to them?

    Yes. Since I received the replacement rear derailleur it’s been running perfectly. I’ve ridden probably 600 km on it now and it’s been slick and smooth. If it keeps this way look out Shimano and SRAM.

    Here in Belgium, it costs 820 (without tax) euros and you still need to buy a crank, cassette, chain and rotors. And a 105 di2 is only 250 euros more expensive with everything included. Im not sure why anyone in europe would want this...

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yea when they have the deals where 105 dis is just a little bit more money then it is no brainer to get 105 wiht the backing from shimano and the tried and true tech, I have the 105di2 on my elves right nwo and literally cant tell the difference between ultegra and duracae it is pretty much idetical

    I have tiagra 10s hydraulic on my giant Defy.
    I mean, it came with Tiagra mechanical shifters that were paired with what appears to be a giant in house master cylinder mounted to the stem and trp calipers.
    Point is I swapped my shifters and brakes to hydraulic Tiagra. And my rear derailleur to 105.

  • @Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding
    @Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I must be missing something, but I don't understand why everyone talks of the "incredible value" of the L-TWOO. So it is around $1000-1300 AUD. For that you get two handles and two derailleurs (not a complete groupset). Ok, and two brake calipers but that's small things. If you look at shimano 105 two handles will be around $300-400 each, plus the rear derailleur another 300-400... Front derailleur around $150. That is just normal price, without bargain hunting too much... So that's very roughly around $1500 for the 105. If you run 1x and if you do some bargain hunting obviously a lot cheaper for Shimano. And with L-TWOO you can not really get it any cheaper. So why would one get L-TWOO instead of 105 di2 if the price is so close?

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      because before this price decrease shimano 105 di2 retail was 2000 and mechanical was 1000 but now with black firdya prices and over stock yyou can find shimano stuff for cheaper then this, also this is meant to rival top tier compoennts with weights being similar to sram red, and this goes against sram upgrade kit there 5 piece which is sold just like this and is 2600 now 1000

    Seems it’s good to be a TH-camr, as I’ve had nothing but issues with an R9 group set via their official Ali Express account and support has been lousy. They did send me a short video to show the brake cable seat location in the shifter, but no feedback re issues I primarily have with the left shifter and front derailleur. I’d love to try the eRX on a more premium build I plan, but it seems safer for a similar price to stick to 105.

    This group is also 10-speed compatible? Superb!! On my both Cyclcross-Bikes I use a 1x10 GRX setup and with L-TWOO now I'm able to electrify this drivetrains.
    I have one more question: Can you mount existing Shimano brakes and hoses directly to the L-TWOO levers or are the fittings different?

    • @chris1275cc
      @chris1275cc ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless they changed something from the mechanical versions (which I doubt) They should work fine I'm using the non series/Tiagra level ones on my Gravel bike with their gravel groupset.
      FYI They come fitted with the older BH59 hose/olive standard with the brass insert. I used the LT-WOO hoses but if you want to use the Shimano hoses already on your bike instead don't try and shove the spare inserts LT-WOO provide in there they are too tight and the olive will chew up the hose when you try and tighten the nut down to it.

    Not knowing what production version you're getting, is a big issue with ordering from China. If they made a rim brake version of this, I would happily upgrade several of my rim brake bikes for $600. It's a shame they don't have a rear derailleur with a clutch for gravel, but I'm sure that will be coming soon.

  • @pqzharold

    One thing I found interesting with LTWOO is. If they can make it 11-12 speed without having to buy a groupset. Shimano and SRAM could do it too, but clearly its another way to make money for big brands.

    The “Blue” Edition is for sale now but the problem is that none of their official dealers have it. That’s my problem here in Thailand.
    L-Twoo told me that it available but don’t want to sell it to me as I am individual. They just refer me to their dealer here in Thailand and he is only willing to sell me the old version as he does not have the new version on stock.

    I agree with you on customer service. I bought a Bryton rider 750 computer. In 1 year, I had the battery fail twice. First one, it toke Bryton a month the replace it. Second one, it has been over a month and I'm still waiting for them to get back to me after they said they would replace it. Terrible customer service! I have since moved on to a Karoo 2 which I love. I see you also have one. But I will never buy another Bryton product. I would order the ERX today if they had a cable rim brake option. I want to upgrade a custom titanium tandem that uses a rim brake in the front. If I went to disc in the front, I would have to buy a new fork and front wheel. I thought about using a Sram hydro rim brake but it uses DOT 5 and Twoo uses mineral oil. Thanks for your honest review!

    I waited a year and took the plunge. Worked well first ride, stuttered on the subsequent rides but I accepted it until my last ride when it died. My rear derailleur has power but has lost its way in terms of which gear it’s in. I have built most of my bikes so 😅I have tried calibration, resetting, re-installing and re calibrating each gear to no avail. I am speaking with my seller but I don’t think they can help but to send me a new set. Not confident. Hearing all these other problems from everyone else I will no longer be a masochist, accept I have lost $1000 and move back to manual operation. I will asking the seller to at least send me a hydraulic / manual gear groupset. I’m sorry but the eRX is not recommended by me. I guess you get what you pay for. I really hope they can fix this and make it as stable as the main brands. Then I’ll consider it again.

      So, the cage is not as big as the shimano RDs ...
      I am currently running 50/34 with 11-36 cassete on R8000.
      Idea was to upgrade to electronic, keep the 11 speed drivetrain until I wear out the chain/cassette and then get 12spd ones.
      But with that limitations, maybe Ltwoo is not right for me.
      Also, I can get a 105 Di2 upgrade kit at around 900€ ...
      Ltwoo would be 600 + 23% tax + custom charges. so not so difference.

    a lot of these chinese companies unfortunately don't tend to understand how important post-sale customer service is to consumers, especially outside of china. not just that, but they don't tend to believe in having proper distribution channels outside of aliexpress. for some reason some of the people in charge just don't understand how foreign markets work. most people aren't gonna go to aliexpress for their bike parts, they're gonna go to a bike shop and they're gonna want their service done at a bike shop too.
    but if they are doing customer service directly to consumers that's a great sign! companies like bafang who make e-bike motors simply don't talk to consumers and your only recourse is going to whoever you bought it from for support - and if it's from aliexpress, those shops come and go like crazy so it can be impossible to track them down sometimes. just being cheap and good isn't enough - it's about the whole customer experience.

      First impression videos always rave about the features/vs price on these things. The only video I've seen with long term testing (Francis Cade) just showed no end of issues that would be simply unacceptable if Shimano had similar problems.
      Anything is expected to work when new, it's in the long run that quality shows and I am not really convinced yet, let alone with electronics in the mix. Also, where are the spares if things break? Even if they are cheap, is there a point in keeping buying disposable components to throw in the landfill?
      I have the previous gen Ultegra Di2. I commute and train on tha groupset all year round (rain/ice included). Over 21000km later haven't had a single issue, but I know it will be sorted if I ever do.

    What none of these Chinese groupset reviews are talking about is the repairability. How is the spare parts market, can these be repaired or do they have to be tossed once it’s broken in a crash, or worn out parts. Would like a video on that. Being cheap shouldn’t be the selling point.

    • @nluisa
      @nluisa ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally. That has been precisely my issue with these. Francis Cade did a video on one of his mates bike with ali express parts. 20 000km in, the groupset and other components were toast (god knows when the issues started). Sure it's cheap, but having to swap a goupset every 15-20 000km doesn't make it a good product, makes it a wasteful one. Adding waste to landfills is still has a cost, even if it doesn't come out of the wallet(yet).
      Entry level groupsets from Shimano don't have the bling, but I bet they will last much longer than anything from Ltwoo or Sensah. And they can be fixed.
