Doesnt look as if its going to get too far south. Valencia province was the worst affected by the DANA. Its on the east coast of Spain south of Catalonia. There was some flooding further north though. I suspect northern Italy is at risk though. It got colder here in Andalucia last week with the latest bout of rain. But it is still warm compared with northern countries. Our lows next week will be 11° or 12°. So warmer that most of the highs elswhere.

Ireland here. The wind turned WNW direction, and yes, the temperature has sensibly lowered. As far as I can understand we will just be "kissed" by this mess, not punched like Norther Sea and Baltic. Not bad, not bad. I'm not ready for snow, yet. Thank you very much for the continuing update. Very appreciated. 👍👍👍
Accurate prediction for Sweden. From wednesday through thursday, we in my area will have up to 50 cm of snow, combined with galeforce winds. It will be fun they say, or not really.. Warnings will for sure be up soon for my area on the east coast some 150 km above Stockholm. First snow of the season won't be a "little dusting" as usual, it will be snowmageddon..

You’re welcome! Who knows, maybe if you’re just far enough north, you’ll see some falling snow. There’s always hope, these storms are very unpredictable!

About the first system, here in Albania it can bring windy conditions and very heavy rainfall (the last is more concerning). But I'm focusing more on the second system, which it is predicted that will be much more impactful in the Balkans, and I'm mostly focusing on high wind. On Friday because of the second, wind is going to be strong, a sirocco wind that can reach gusts above 50km/h in my city.
Raining here in NE Ireland at moment but definitely cooler. Wouldn't mind a little of the white stuff. But it would wet snow which isn't particularly enjoyable. Thanks for the informative updates WW ❤
As someone who lives on the east coast of Sweden, about 130 km south of Stockholm, I really am looking forward to seeing some snow this winter finally! It has been very warm for the season so this is a good way for the winter to appear 😅🤩❄️❄️ Climate change and all makes me really worried that events like these are going to become more and more rare… I do really love the snow, since it lights up our dark country. The sun sets and is completely gone by 16.00, so the snow is needed. It is, of course, also beautiful! 😍❄️🙏

My Portugal is forever safe, no wind, 22/24ºC daytime and rain not daily but enough to watering the plants, just. Algarve now recovering from the heavy rain and big floods, hope some water keep in the ground. Great forecast as usual. Great foto from Iceland, that's my favorite weather, but we never like what we have isn't it, millions came here for the warm and i love the cold, very cold weather.? 🥶
They just wrote in the news that 30 cm of snow are expected in southern finland starting from wednesday afternoon, just like you forecasted. Well done!
Wow, this looks really bad for people who have already gone through so much this fall and now going into winter. So wet and destructive in this part of the Atlantic, and in the US, it is bone dry in the East (facing the Atlantic Ocean) drought stricken areas. I am so sorry that all of my friends in these countries, are going through so much. This will be hard on so many since the floods, hail and other natural disasters have overtaken villages, towns, and cities (like Valencia Spain). Something is up and it is not natural to have this many weather disasters in one place after another.
You’re welcome! It’s hard to know, I did make a winter outlook a few weeks ago that explains what I think, so feel free to watch it if you would like! :)
i always like your detailed updates, its amazing really. and i have a question about the lows coming in from the atlantic. i thought the trend was that the flow from the atlantic was blocked so we would have more cold fronts from the north/east of europe. is that changing? whats the general trend as we go into december? thanks!
Thank you! Glad you like them :) December is a little far so I haven’t looked into it, but I’ll definitely keep you all updated on anything interesting that may be developing! 🙂

Hi! It’s possible, but I don’t expect significant accumulation in Belgium, since most of the snow would probably come from occasional showers rather than a persistent swath. Maybe if multiple heavier snow showers impact certain areas, accumulation would be higher.
Gonna leak my location but will snow fall in East Midlands, particularly Leicester? As it looks like models are trending the snow even more southwards where I'm directly in the path of it but no snow warning as of 6pm Sunday.

An accumulation of around 30 cm of snow in the Eastern parts of Zealand, Denmark, during the middle of the week would indeed be very welcome 💨😎💯 ... What are the chances, do you think, of temperatures keeping low enough for the same amounts to accumulate on the Isle of Falster just south of Zealand?
Hmm, when I watched the model animations today, I noticed that snow only falls over land and switches to rain over water. This indicates that the cold air will be very marginal and will just barely support snow in areas surrounded by water… but I do think it’s possible to have some decent accumulation in parts of Denmark, even including the islands, as long as it’s far enough away from the relatively warm Baltic Sea 🙂
On Thursday and Friday we were forecast 5cm of snow Sunday night and Monday but the low we were supposed to have close south of Scotland ended up much further south so we’ve had a lovely dry clear cold weekend and here in the Forth/Clyde valleys the snow forecast has been cancelled and the cold clear weather forecast for the next week by the BBC TV weather forecasters.
