I get my drivers front side KYB tomorrow and will comment if it is cut out. Great video! I must take many pictures of mine before I take it apart. It’s all original I know for sure, never touched. Two or three videos (Ep29 2:15) back I shared my favorite tire brand for the probe from about 8 years ago, yes they are old. It was the bfgoodrich GForce T\A KDW’s. Sidewalls very stiff. That is key. Do not be shy and see them before you have them mounted. Do not assume all Z or better rated tires have rock hard sidewalls. I assumed too many times and had poor handling for many many miles until next set. You should not be able to push the sidewall at all with your thumb. Sidewall stiffness is key for our cars’ handling. The original tires were Goodyear VR gatorbacks, classic tire from the 80’s. Vets, irocs, 5.0, etc. Thank you!
Yep. Tires are pretty pricey here so I'm going to shop around for them, I know for sure I want something that will hold up in Auto X lol. I was considering street slicks but I'd like to survive a minor snowfall lmao.
@@elkofcanada5003 Just got my second KYB. They were both cut out. Got them both from Amazon. Can’t wait to see your next update on how car rides with new struts. Thank you
Thats an interesting share regarding the kybs! Ive heard some guys having to do that with a strut on our cars but dont recall which brand required it...Now I got the kyb excel-g 235601 and 235602 for the front and thru amazon..these are the chrome capped ones ive spoken of.. they came with the shafts precut so they fit into the strut mounts...are u saying you have these chrome capped. ones and they are Not precut? that would be strange indeed!
If that flex seal doesnt hold you can cut that very end piece right off..u will have a larger hole where the cv shaft exits so what Ive done is find a rubber bushing thats the same diameter as the cv shaft and large enough to Fill that hole left on the end of the boot..cut a slice in the bushing so u can place it over the axle... either glue it in place with rtv or secure with a hose clamp...easy fix.. so many way to patch these, I get creative!

Chrome capped yep..it's just odd. Stranger because ONE is pre-cut and the other isn't. wouldn't we weird if they all weren't, but 3/4 are...
