For me it started with just taking photos when I travelled, eventually I enjoyed it more I started taking photos just in my spare time and going out on weekends for photography related adventures. So travel certainly ignited the hobby to begin with, but it just grew from there. Paid work it started with live music gigs / clubs and a whole bunch of other random stuff as I was finding my feet.
