    Thanks for the tip, all my sessions are around 4 hours and its not much space. I've noticed that the creases where the skin folds tends to bleed more causing open spots on the blackout

      The bends are often like that, but four hours should be more blackout than that

    All I do is shower everyday, use antibacterial soap and after 30 minutes when it dries I put lotion on the tattoo spot and chill.

    I was told to dry heal my blackout for 2 weeks while rinsing regularly with cold water (washing 1-2 times a day with soap), then start with my usual aftercare. It worked pretty well.

    I'm over two years into double sleeve blackout. I had a major problem towards the beginning, on my left wrist. Before I fully understood you actually need an "artist". Blew my skin out and caused serious scarring. Thankfully it was just a 5 inch section of my wrist. After a couple more correct passes on the same area it isn't even noticeable.
    Basically don't get blackout work from people who don't really know what they're doing. Or are learning. You're looking for people with "soft" touch on the needle. Remy can clarify a better view.

    I used Saniderm to protect my fresh tattoos and it works well before that I used the aquaphor and I had issues but switch to Saniderm and healed nicely

    This is my arm. And my emails were trash lol sry. The artist told me wash it 10 times a day... 🙃 I did mean to say i was on antibiotics. And when i asked about a second pass i meant after the new artist does my whole arm will i need another full arm pass? Im guessing yes... Thanks for the advice. Cheers brother!

      My new blackout tattoo looks almost similar to how yours looked in the early healing stages. When you saw your doctor, did they confirm you had a tattoo infection when they gave you antibiotics or was it for prevention?

    • @ejclark17
      @ejclark17 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kitten0331 They did confirm that I had a bacterial infection. It has happened to me twice now on different tattoos. I think I am allergic to the ink... Next session I am going to take Benadryl during and after for a few days. My second artist is extremely versed in large scale black work so I did exactly what she told me to do for aftercare and it did the same thing. Just not as bad.

      @@ejclark17 Aw dang :(((
      I’m on day 6 of my healing and I knew something wasn’t right by the 2nd-3rd day when I saw huge scabs on my forearm and the tattoo still seeping a lot. I had horrible swelling in my hand/wrist/forearm and the burning/soreness was INTENSE. Now it’s still seeping and sticks to the doggy pad my artist told me to use to cover it lightly to absorb the plasma/ink/blood and it lifted off most of the scabs and ink in those areas. The swelling is gone thankfully. My artist told me to dry heal and wash about 4-5x a day and more wouldn’t be bad as long as I pat it dry. Now my arm is tight n dry af, cracked skin, throbbing every now and then, emitting heat/warm to touch, tender/sore, seeping clear and on two occasions small amount of light yellow fluid, and a very mild itch that started not too long ago.
      I went to the hospital earlier today and they told me there’s no signs of red streaks going up out of the tattoo, no pus, no swelling, no fever/chills, etc. It looks like it’s been overwashed and the skin is trying to regenerate but can’t due to washing it so much and being so dry. They didn’t confirm or deny that it was an infection but prescribed me topical antibiotics to apply twice a day for a week, but I have to go back to the hospital in 2 days so they can recheck my tattoo. They even took pictures and had a practitioner and the physician examine my tattoo lol. They also told me to wash twice a day and cover it so it’s not exposed to stuff.
      I’ve been getting tattoos for the past 14 years and this is my first blackout. I went to someone that’s experienced and specializes in blackout. I followed her aftercare directions and updated her daily and she didn’t seem concerned at all, said maybe my skin is reacting to the ink and told me to keep the tattoo dry and to give it time to heal. But kept saying the tight feeling, warmth and stuff was normal because it’s a big wound.
      I’m just so stressed and scared if it is infected since I never got 100% confirmation because the doctors wants to see it again during the recheck. I’ve also haven’t had a tattoo infection before. Idk how my blackout will look once fully healed 😭

      @@kitten0331 same thing here. But i got on antibiotics by day 3-4. I've been getting tattoos for 14 yrs as well. I always had a little swelling but nothing was rejected or infected. It sounds like an infection. I'm dry healing from now on. Only washing in the shower once a day. And I'm taking Benadryl (which you cannot od on) for the first 3-4 days. My boss is a paramedic he said that should help. We shall see in about a month...

    • @kitten0331
      @kitten0331 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ejclark17that sound like a good plan! What ink did your artist use? What other symptoms did you have with your blackout when it was infected? What antibiotics were you prescribed and how long did it take to heal?
      I think it’s infected too because I never had a tattoo heal this way. The affected areas keep oozing clear/light yellow but not a whole bunch where it’s dripping or anything. The skin keeps getting stuck to the paper towel when I pat dry after washing so idk. The topical anitobiotics the doc wants me on for a week is clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide and the pharmacy is out of it. I got my tattoo a week ago and I’m just so worried of it getting worse and becoming worse case scenario where it’s life threatening 😞

    Hey Remy, thanks for this vid. My Black out tattoo is next month and my artist said he moves quickly with blackout. We scheduled two full day sessions 3 weeks from each other. He anticipates a half sleeve each session. With a half sleeve, should I follow your recommendation? Get home, wait a few hours, take off the bandage, clean it up and apply aquaphor twice a day? Really appreciate you man, keep up the great work.

    Jesus I had a grinder back in the 80's that did a tattoo on me that scabbed up like this. Lost all the color. Reds looked pink black was gray. Bled and looked like road rash from a motorcycle wreck. That tattoo was touched up later but so much scar tissue it still looks like crap. This is gonna be bad.
