Sorry for the poor lighting, gentlemen! When I held the watch in one spot there was glare. When I held it in another a shadow eclipsed the screen. There are no do overs on candid unboxings. As Coach says either you win or you learn. In this video I learned my lighting system needs some upgrades. Stay tuned for upcoming videos that feature the GD010 in better lighting!

I’m looking into the GA-010 analog digital G-Shock. I like the quick one button press to start the stopwatch and the lume on the hands and hour markers. The GA-010 also has 2 ultra bright led lights that are like a flashlight when turned on.

    • @georgeg1947
      @georgeg1947 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

I purchased the GA-010 twice and I like it but I had to return both watches because the minute hand on the GA-010 on BOTH watches had freeplay and was slightly moving when I rotated the watch left and right. I wish that this model didn't have this flaw because it had everything that I wanted in an analog digital G-Shock. The hands were very legible with the lume on them and the lume on all the markers. The led light was also very nice and it lit up the whole dial. It was effortless to see the time when the led light button was pressed. I was even able to see the numbers on the lcd display when I pressed the led light button. I'm very diappointed that the minute hand on this particular model has freeplay in it. I own the GA-100 and GA-110 and none of them have freeplay on the minute hand. The GA-010 has a quality problem or a flaw in the minute hand somewhere. Maybe the minute hand is not assembled tightly on the spindle. I don't know why it has freeplay like that. It's noticeable when you tilt or rotate the watch while looking at the time. The minute hand moves away from the markers and you could tell that it's off a little bit when the minute hand doea that. I purchased the GD-010 instead, so I don't have to put up with the minute hand problem on the GA-010. It's such a pity because the GA-010 has all the features that I was looking for in a G-Shock. I hope that Casio fixes the problem. Maybe if the GA-010 was manufacctured in Japan it wouldn't have this problem.

Already have it. Thanks for video. Lower right button when in home screen cycles through three different time screens you can set and quickly change your home time with any of them by pressing the upper two buttons at same time. You can also do the switch from world time mode screen. Great travel feature.

The GD-010 UI is similar to that used on the GD-100, GD-120, DW-291H and some other Casio models. It includes Multi Time, which shows three additional time zones when you press the lower right button, returning to the home time zone on the fourth press.
BTW, to check for a 24-hour CDT on most Casio models, you can just press Start when it's set to zero, rather than setting it to 23 59 59.

I've got the GA -101 incoming. I like the look of the legible analog dial along with the large digi screen. It won't dethrone my W-736H but at least it's a no nonsense G with everything you need and nothing you don't. Timer and stopwatch should have come first instead of alarms and world time and it should have had a vibration alarm. Still, a decent watch with accident proof buttons and a clear design - much better than so many other models Casio brought to market in the last years.

This looks good, and the green model would be my choice.
Unfortuntely it does not have the side supports like Mudman 9500.
Can you measure how long is the flat backside between when the strap starts to turn downwards?
It's valuable to know if it's like the 1500 or 9400.
It does not look large on your wrist, you have ~20cm wrist, or?

@@SuperDVDguy1 check to see if the minute hand on your GA-010 has freeplay in it. I purchased 2 Casio GA-010 G-Shocks and the minute hand in BOTH had freeplay on them. I could see the minute hand move slightly to the left and to the right when I would rotate the watch in that direction. This caused the minute hand to be off its mark when pointing on the minute markers. This is a quality control problem or there's something wrong with the mechanism that moves the minute hand. I own the GA-100 and GA-110 and none of them have any freeplay in the minute hand. The minute hands on the GA-100 and GA-110 are both tight without any freeplay in them and don't move when wearing the watch and when rotating or moving the watch to the right or to the left when the watch is on the wrist. Check your GA-010 for the freeplay in the minute hand. Yours probably has this problem too.

I prayed for G-Shock to come out with a big legible display like the one on the AE 1500. I was so excited when this came out..
I was checking the Casio website literally multiple times a day in hopes for the US release.
I ended up ordering one from Japan on EBay for $111.15.. the very next day it was released in the USA.
I’m still waiting for shipment 👎🏼

Do you think a double tang from a GD100 would fit your GD010?

I don't see anything controversial there, that thing is absolutely worth 100 USD, no doubt, good buy. That screen reminds me a lot about my GX-056 football Casio , which was a real first thinnest solar atomic G shock ever (it's still officialy the first thinnest man's G shock). I'm a huge fan of separating lines, just the opposite of stupid plastic frames (like Casio Royale or King for example). Now just wait for the solar version 150 USD, solar atomic 200 USD and steel solar atomic 300 USD, that's Casio's modern poop style. Solar is nothing special, that's just a inner coating at the glass and one more chip at the circuitboard, at least it was like that in the past. Multiband is different, it takes antenna which is relatively bad for a weight.
good video, good buy (after a couple of fails 😀)

@@JimKinkade I have no idea if anyone else has this problem with the minute hand on the GA-010 having freeplay. I returned the 1st one and reordered a second one which came in today by the way. The second one had the same exact problem like the first one with the freeplay in theminute hand. I wouldn't of caught thismproblem if I hadn't looked closely at the minute hand when I did a hand reset to align it with the hour marker at the 12' oclock position. I was noticing that the minute hand was moving slightly to the left and then back to the right when I tilted the watch in different directions. That's when I noticed that there was something wrong with the minute hand having this freeplay. I've mentioned this to a few others in here who purchased the GA-010, but I don't know if they gotmy message. You can easily see this problem if you look closely and if you tilt and rotate the watch slowly. The minute hand definitely has freeplay movement in it. I own many GA-110 and GA-110 G-Shocks and NONE of them have this problem. The minute hand on all of them is very tight and secure and does NOT have any freeplay in them. The don't move at all. I believe that there's something wrong with the mechanism that holds the minute hand on the GA-010 to cause this problem. I am very disappointed because I really like the GA-010. It has everything that I would want in an analog digital G-Shock. Excellent lume, excellent led light, excellent visibility at night, easy visibility during the day, one press stopwatch function, dual time on the dial with the analog hands and the lcd display, snooze alarm, ect.
I wish that the GA-010 didn't have this flaw. Casio needs to fix this problem ASAP.

@@JimKinkade no, I haven't yet, but I've made one or two people in here who own the GA-010 aware about the problem with the freeplay in the minute hand. I'm hoping that they get back to me. I returned both of mine because both had this problem. I believe that there's something wrong with the fit of the minute hand on the spindle. Why else would it have freeplay? I cannot think of any other reason that it would have this problem. I'm very disappointed in the GA-010. I like the GA-010 a lot and I really wanted to wear it on my trip back to Greece next weekend. The freeplay in the minute hand is a huge disappointment. I was going to take the GA-010 with me together with my GPR-H1000 Rangeman that I've been wearing since the beginning of June. The battery life in my Rangeman is phenomenal. It lasts 3 to 4 months with the Bluetooth turned on without any of the health and fitness features turned on. I keep all the health and fitness features always turned off.
