The thing that stands out about Caleb is his ability to deliver accurate deep balls without setting his feet. As soon as he sees something, the balls out no matter if he’s back paddling, side stepping, scrambling, etc. Fields has a good arm, but he needs to set his feet to deliver an accurate ball. So when he’s flushed out of the pocket and scrambling, he rarely looks to throw, and he almost never throws it away which is incredibly frustrating to watch him take all those sacks and go backwards.
The thing that stands out to me is he isn't all that accurate, his men are WIDE open and he just heaves it, and it will be close enough but wr has to stop or adjust back to ball which means if wr isnt that open it will be int. No defenses in NFL will be like San Jose St or Nevada or Colorado.

At the end of the day, no one was watching Tom Brady film, wondering if he was gonna save their franchise. He was an average college QB that had an amazing work ethic that made him the best QB ever. You never know how a QB will play in the NFL. Most QB’s drafted have the talent to be great, but a lot of them can’t put it all together. I think a lot of them have relied on their natural talent so much in college, then they get to the NFL, and it isn’t enough. They have never had to put the extra work in to overcome not being the best and they fail. IMO it’s all about work ethic and confidence. Caleb has the confidence, we’ll see if he has the work ethic to be great. I think he does.
@@dubk7369 you take media day talk seriously? A prospect will say whatever to keep his draft stock up, “goofy”. Why would he want to go to a franchise that has a history of not developing QB. Shit goes back as far as Rex grossman. Maybe even further. Don’t be mad, “goofy”.
Not only does he possess a cannon of an arm w/dead-eye accuracy, but his eyes are always downfield equipped w/elite pocket awareness. He's got MVP written all over him
The arm talent is generational. Very few guys who’ve played can accurately put the ball wherever they want on the field from any platform. And with that incredible velocity no less.
With rush and arm talent like this and him being so lethal throwing on the run, he’s the next Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen kinda player. As a lions fan this is scary if the bears get him.
Mahomes is capable of making quick throws. I don’t see that with Williams. He has a cannon but I’m not convinced he has what it takes to be elite in the NFL.
Caleb williams will be the best quarterback in the nfl the day he is drafted. Better than mahomes, allen , burrow, prescott, jackson, he will own them all.
I feel like his comparison is young A- Rod not Malhomie in my opinion with his agility in the pocket with very very quick release and gun slinging mentality plus with crazy arm strength to throw from ridiculous angles
USC vs nd 22’ was the game I knew he was on a diff level. He won similar to Pat and the chiefs winning in superbowl vs eagles. Pocket awareness and evading the blitz Extending the play and improvising Defense took away deep ball He still throws all dimes short to intermediate routes.
U gotta be blind or slow maybe both he’s scrambling damn near all the plays or he’s letting the ball go with pressure in his face not from a clean pocket.
It’s just the fact that all of these plays work in college not nfl. Half these highlights are just receivers catching 50/50 balls. Don’t get me wrong I want Caleb to prove me wrong I just don’t see this translating into the nfl
I think he's got great arm talent, and some of the intangibles that you'd like to see in a QB. My only real red flag is 90% of these highlights are from broken plays, which makes me think he has trouble reading coverages, and just waits for the coverage to break down. (Think Johnny Manziel..) I hope he can get something going with the Bears. I'm a Packers, but I honestly would love to see our division be competitive from all 4 teams.
Born November 18, 2001. Played high school football for the Gonzaga College Eagles. Play college football with the Oklahoma Sooners, then the Southern California Trojans. Drafted #1 overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL Draft. Good luck with "Da Bears."
I’ve been saying Fields mechanics and motion in the pocket has seemed slow. Lots of wasted movement. I haven’t noticed any progressive difference from his rookie year either. Like it kills me that he hasn’t worked on his release timing. It’s like he feels he’s still at OSU and has no urgency in the pocket. He doesn’t have pocket manipulation to go with it. Again lots of these are things he can fix but you can’t teach urgency and conviction.
JF has a hitch in his throw. The ball has plenty of velocity but takes longer to come out. CW has ARodgers movement as well as making that quick decision with and explosive release. There isn’t much wrong with CW - he even scans the field while staying in pocket. He never seems afraid to get that ball out if he sees it while JF hesitates. Like someone said here - you would have hoped he worked every year on that but he didn’t because by now that ball should be out quicker.
he wastes less moves than fields, also fields throwing motion is awful and he second guesses a lot. caleb has that josh allen matt stafford type of arm strength that he sees a window and just shoots a dart w a flick of his wrist cuz he trusts his arm
See people need to understand most top college players stats are padded AF, especially the QBs, if you watch their top plays more than half are plays that arent happening in the NFL. Not to mention top players go to the top teams where the entire team is 5 star NFL players, and they play half their games against 4 star or worse players. Unlike the NFL where every game, every play and every down is against NFL players.... the best of the best. Thats why you have players that get drafted top 10 yet end up being busts. NCAA and NFL are two different animals.
His receivers aren’t even high sought after receivers non of them are top prospects they are open because of his ability to improvise and buy time, any receiver can get open with that amount of time, his pocket presence is undeniable. Anybody that say otherwise is just a hater. This man was his whole teams offense, he played Superman because he had to.
With how the jets love their usc qbs I wish we would of had first round pick. Most of these throws are running throws… just most of Caleb’s throws are cross body or uncomfortable throws . Dudes a beast
Wide open receivers on broken coverage against bad teams every play. He holds the ball out wide and doesn't set his feet when he throws. Gonna throw a lot of picks when be gets to the league

The guy is good, but he has all day to throw. J.F. had all day in college too! When you get to the pro"s your processing time is cut in half. You either adjust and prosper or do not and fail.
I actually want the Bears to draft this guy. Whats the worst that can happen? You suck still? Already do. The best thing? You become a contender. I want the Bears to be good. Being a Chiefs fan and knowing how it is to suck for 50 years before Mahomes, gotta give some love to teams I can relate to before Mahomes and Reid. He really is a transcendental talent but lets see how his intangibles and work ethic translate to the NFL. Sometimes it doesnt work out.
Shut your mouth lol no idea what you’re talking about. The only reason he has 4 seconds to throw is his escapability and pocket presence. And these receivers are wide open because of his ability to evade pressure for that long. Thank god you’re not an nfl scout lol
Literally all I seen. Deep ball def accurate. Ability to evade and stay in pocket seems good but he won’t have that much time at all. And every highlight is either busted coverage burnt coverage or they just wide open for no reason

His only really impressive stats came against sub .500 teams. He's benefitting from a lot of blown coverage. Chicago should trade the #1 pick, try to grab MHJ and Jared Verse. Fields needs another WR to make that offense click.
Caleb will have great success in the NFL. Normally im hesitant when a QB has this much hype, but what i love about him the most is that he is always thinking pass-first, then run second. He has the accuracy/poise of Aaron Rodger’s, and the improvisation like Mahomes. What he’ll need to get used to is how to process his reads much faster. In much of these highlights, he had ALL DAY to find his receivers. Other than that, he’s gona be an all-time great. Chicago finally has it’s franchise QB

He's never worn a tampon, either, but he reminds me of a bitch the way he cries in mommy's lap after every loss.
I hope all the negative bears fans watch this. They will change there minds on williams. Fields never played like this in college or did Mahomes. If williams has protection hebis going to be really good
Lol are u serious?? Go watch fields tape...he had better numbers....caleb only had more yard cause he threw more...fields beats him in every category...dumb comment
Gonna miss JF1 but I gotta admit I’m starting to like this kid Caleb we need to embrace this man as our QB and see what he can do beat the packers Mr.Williams and I’m sold 🐻⬇️
Bears fan here, just doing my weekly check in on my quarterback
The greatest college QB highlight reel I have ever seen. OMG I knew the guy was good but damn this is legendary
Caleb got skills no other QB byside Mahomes got, clearly number #1 for me !!
I don't see it.
@@djrychlak4443 how u dont see it. i am not saying he is gonna have the same success, but no other QB in the league can manipulate the pocket the backfield evade sacks and flick the wrist for 50 yards in the league other than mahomes, josh allen and arod in his prime. he has that talent
Yea, and Bears passed on Mahomes too. Come on Caleb.
Same thing was said about Bryce Young…..
@@djrychlak4443put on glasses, the man is a Skyline Gtr type quarterback
As a USC fan and Bears fan this is one of the greatest things to happen 😂
Brendan rice versus tahj Washington who do you got
Fight on Caleb! ✌️You made us proud. Best of luck with your next journey bud
Kid can sling it. Some of these throws… welcome to Chicago Caleb
He doesn't want to go to chicago. Chicago cannot develop a qb for shit. If he does go he's for sure going to be a bust.
Shut up He's happy to go to Chicago @Teebxv
I won’t be mad if we get Caleb but I want Marvin Harrison
@@Teebxvdid you not watch his press conferences goofy?
@@dubk7369 you take media day talk seriously? A prospect will say whatever to keep his draft stock up, “goofy”. Why would he want to go to a franchise that has a history of not developing QB. Shit goes back as far as Rex grossman. Maybe even further. Don’t be mad, “goofy”.
Not only does he possess a cannon of an arm w/dead-eye accuracy, but his eyes are always downfield equipped w/elite pocket awareness. He's got MVP written all over him
Would sell my soul for Williams as a rams fan let him sit behind Stafford and he’s goateed 😫
Now this would be scary
The arm talent is generational. Very few guys who’ve played can accurately put the ball wherever they want on the field from any platform. And with that incredible velocity no less.
With rush and arm talent like this and him being so lethal throwing on the run, he’s the next Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen kinda player. As a lions fan this is scary if the bears get him.
We will find a way to mess it up unfortunately.
You have nothing to worry about I’m not wishing on his downfall but he doesn’t perform good against good defenses anybody can do good against Nevada 😂
@@treylaffitte5386mahomes didn’t perform good against ranked teams and good defenses in college. I also wanted Mahomes to be a Bear…..😢
Mahomes is capable of making quick throws. I don’t see that with Williams. He has a cannon but I’m not convinced he has what it takes to be elite in the NFL.
Dear Bear Fans
Do yourself a favor
Draft Jayden Daniel's
This guy is overrated
Caleb williams will be the best quarterback in the nfl the day he is drafted. Better than mahomes, allen , burrow, prescott, jackson, he will own them all.
I feel like his comparison is young A- Rod not Malhomie in my opinion with his agility in the pocket with very very quick release and gun slinging mentality plus with crazy arm strength to throw from ridiculous angles
USC vs nd 22’ was the game I knew he was on a diff level.
He won similar to Pat and the chiefs winning in superbowl vs eagles.
Pocket awareness and evading the blitz
Extending the play and improvising
Defense took away deep ball
He still throws all dimes short to intermediate routes.
He has all day to throw it in each of these clips
That’s why u don’t evaluate based off highlights…. Use your brain.
U gotta be blind or slow maybe both he’s scrambling damn near all the plays or he’s letting the ball go with pressure in his face not from a clean pocket.
@leomarley1711 it took about 15 plays before I saw a play with a collapsed pocket and good coverage. His o-line looked like the stars here.
fields is so bad no one wants him. give it uop
As a Bears fan I agree, I hope that won’t be his downfall
Half of these highlights should be offensive line highlights he has 10 seconds every time he drops back
imagine what he can do with elite receivers like DJ Moore and Keenan Allen
Allen is washed
Chicago time - let’s do this
Welcome to Chicago!
This guy will probably get a lot of interceptions in the league but also will make a lot of big plays and touchdowns like Josh allen
Well majority of people have Josh Allen in their top 3 so that’s not bad lol
70 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions in college I don’t see why you feel that way
Yeah he reminds me a lot of Josh Allen
Naw I see a Afro-American Aaron Roger's 😂
Amazing how so many Bears fans don’t want this guy as their QB. Total insanity.
It’s just the fact that all of these plays work in college not nfl. Half these highlights are just receivers catching 50/50 balls. Don’t get me wrong I want Caleb to prove me wrong I just don’t see this translating into the nfl
We just feel bad for them. Chicago is where QB's come to DIE. via Draft, FA, matters not. QB Careers are ruined in Chicago
They have Stockholm Syndrome feeling sorry for Justin Fields for too long... Sad😂
He just looks quicker than Fields. I could be wrong but I wonder what the release quickness difference is.
His decision making seems quicker too.
Crazy us bears fans watching this for nothing bears grabbing Harrison and prey for the QB in 9 pick
Bruh he was throwing to Jordan Addison. Kid broke records as a rookie. What you talkin' bout man?

Reminds me so much of a right handed Mike Vick. He has that "anything could happen" aura. Hope it translates in Chicago.
The guy is good, but he has all day to throw. J.F. had all day in college too! When you get to the pro"s your processing time is cut in half. You either adjust and prosper or do not and fail.
Fields still couldn’t process fast in college or the NFL.
He didn’t have all day to throw lol, these are just highlights remember
Believe me, I'm a USC fan. He was under pressure about 60% of the time. Terrible OL.
Wide open. Or has 4+ sec to throw. Wow what a qb
Half of these plays the defender fell down
Shut your mouth lol no idea what you’re talking about.
Are u blaming him for throwing to wide open receivers?🤣. Watch more tape and don’t watch highlights they make anyone look good. 4 seconds isn’t his fault it’s more of the comp he’s facing.

He wont be getting out of all those almost sacks in the NF he better plan on being hit on lot of those runs he tries the big league boys have speed too many even more and love hitting QB's , at little over 6 foot and 210 will surely feel them, but kid looks like he has the talent we will see this fall.

They said the same for bryce young. You forget you can’t hit QBs like you used too lol he’ll be fine he scramble like Kyler Murray to me but Caleb keeps his eyes down field
He better be good bro
Beast 💯🔥
If the bears draft this scrub. Im done, MHJ, AND A TON PICKS , JF1 IS BETTER than all these qbs, Pennix is way better than williams
