Adding default c4d material makes no sense at all.. Also recommend you to use range mapper or simply math node to control the intensity ( in case if you didn't know about that )
This works great with an Octane Light however I cant seem to get it to work with an Octane material in the Emission Channel. When dragging the material into Xpresso The Emission channel does not show up. Any idea how to solve this?
how would you go about ramping the light for a pulsing on/off (like a heartbeat light on a laptop)? Could I do it by loading a gradient into xpresso instead of a noise?
hey zurjj, nice tutorial, but what if you wanna do that on an object with an emission material so the light comes out of the object and not an octane light? is it possible to do it ?
@@luan-gg9lk hey guys, just figured out a solution on my own after trying to figure this out. Open your emission texture in the node editor and drop in a gradient, then plug the gradient into the distribution of the blackbody emission. Then drop a random color in and hook it up to the input of the Gradient. Animate the seed of the random color and you've got yourself a flickering emission texture.
I am sorry you felt it was a waste of time. I mean that step took 10 seconds to add but I know now it wasn't needed. For the light power, I believe just adjust the Amplitude. I don't use this method anymore, sorry.
Super helpful, thanks!
Thats a really cool tutorial. I would like to see some tutorials on how to create and texture some great environments like in your epic edits ^^
Dope, I definitely need to learn more xpresso :D
thank you so much man!! would love to see more tutorials
daem, thats LIT!
Anyway I can use this? I will give you credits
So cool man, thanks for this ! I would love to see more tutorials from you if you consider doing more :)
Do more tutorials please
great! thank you man. Now I following you and like this. keep going.
Can u make a tutorial for beginners
Fucking amazing Zurj!!!
Ur 3D looks always sooo clean bro, amazing!
my man
thanks a lot i have been searching for this one past a month
If you get signal from greyscale gorilla, you can flicker objects with emission :)
I am trying this on my recent project

Could you tell me how to make texture emission flicker? I tried it for a long time, but unsuccessful!
Just made a tutorial on it, here you go th-cam.com/video/C-JzzL3sRFo/w-d-xo.html
Good stuff bro. Definitely would like to see more of these
Still trying to figure out a way to do this with the light being inside of a cloner because they all flicker at the same time. Any ideas??
whats the link for the plugin?

Do I need to use a plugin or something else? My C4D doesn't have a sub-option for lights.
It's been resolved.

I don't understand why you made a material

this seems to make the light overall off and on. I want overall on and then off.
More tutorials please. You do such awesome works! Do you work a graphic company like a game developer?
i wish you'd zoom in on important stuff, its so hard to actually see anything, i'd need a monitor twice as big ;\

Dope!!
next how to crack octane
If you're serious, it is on CGPeers. I bought mine so if you run into issues don't come to me aha.
what was the point in creating the noise shader? lol what a waste of everyone's time.
ps my light power only makes it to 1 before going to 0, pfft.
