    This is the same story that my grandparents used to tell us as we grew up here in Durban ,South Africa...we will never understand the hardships that people faced when Indians left India and settled in foreign lands.it is wonderful to see that no matter were Indians went to in the world they never forgot thier roots,culture and heritage.

    @ 1:58 minutes he ask about " adowrie " .. i know my late adjie & my parents making that with urdi ke daal ,grinding it , mixed it with lowki and water..make it stand the whole night ...in the morning make small balls like phulauri on a plate ...and put it in the sun to dry for some days...after that you can make it in tomato and pepper ,or mixed it in tarkarie. This is perhaps lost already by many ...what i know, i wanted to share...my mother ( now 78 years ) knows how to make it and believe me it is very delicious. Love from Suriname!!!.

    Fascinating ! They don't look like typical Indian Trini. even her accent different. I wouldn't of known this side of history, of Tamil in Trini. So she speaks Tamil? Does she know dosas? Was she able to pass language to children? I think it's great to document her. Blessings to family.

      In the first part I believe she used a few Tamil phrases; her parents were from Tamil Nadu rather than grandparents or great grandparents like many others so that likely may have influenced her speech more.

    Our ancestors rule South Asia, our people go all over the world. We lost our power ,we don't have a country nobody can help our people live all over the countries. In India we become slaves again by North Indians, we live in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka Malaysia, Singapore mauricius, South America Guyana. We don't have a country we can't help other people we don't have a power. In Tamil Nadu India Tamil people are slaves the Telugu people from other state who is control in Tamil Nadu. In Sri Lanka Tamil people is being killed for last 50 years their life was destroyed. Our forefathers made huge mistake they didn't fight for separate country we lost everything.

    • @bigdaddy7763
      @bigdaddy7763 ปีที่แล้ว

      And the ancestors of Tamils in Guyana and Trinidad have no idea of this fact because they grew up watching Bollywood movies that portray North Indians as good people. They have no idea that Tamil Nadu was considered its own kingdom because they don’t know the cultural differences between states. They look at North Indians and think they’re the same people, especially when they go to the US but they get educated about the difference because even in America the North Indians discriminate against them.
