Hi Joyce! Thank you. It amazes me too; I guess that's why I like whirligigs so much! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope you are safe and well. I'll talk to you soon my dear friend. Take special care.
Hey Todd wonderful job on the whirligigs. Your rooster prop is wonderful. David did an awesome job of painting it.The kicking donkey is really cool I really like the pitch fork action. Thank you for the bearing info I was worried my bearing could slide on the shaft but watching yours I’m hoping it is okay and I don’t need a tighter fit.I wish I lived in Washington then I could go to your class. Have a fantastical week and please give Peaches hugs.
Hi Deb! Thank you. Yes, David did a wonderful job; I'll be sure to copy his paint scheme next time I have to paint a bucking bronco. To keep my bearings from sliding on a shaft, I use a pair of wire cutters to make "crimp" marks on the shaft. I just squeeze really hard with the wire cutters at the spot where I don't want the bearing to move any further, and it deforms the metal on the shaft just enough to keep the bearing from going past the spot. I hope that helps; it is simple to do, but does take some strength. A spring-loaded center-punch might work too if you can keep it on the shaft to leave a mark, or any kind of cold chisel that will leave a mark. Someday, I would like to visit a friend of mine who lives on Orcas Island, and when I do, maybe I can come visit you then? I'm sure it won't happen very soon, but someday, and then I can show you all my tricks. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope you and yours are safe and well. Happy Sunday to you.Take care my friend.
Thanks Todd I will try that with the bearings . It would be awesome if you go to Orcas island go to Victoria BC by boat then drive 3 hours north to our house.Or you can take a ferry to Nanimo and drive 1 hour and a half to our place . 👏👏👏👏👏😀👏It would be awesome.👏👏👏
@@bygollystudio8567 That would be an awesome trip Deb! I lived on Orcas Island for 5 years, so I always enjoy a good ferry ride. I'll see you soon! Todd

Hi Todd! That paint work by your student was neatly done. Very precise paint job. Yes, the mineral oil did pop out the wood grains on the rattler. Nice whirligig of the donkey kicking the farmer haha ....comical spin on farm life.
Hi Molly Cher! Yes, David did a wonderful job. Yes, you could say the whirligig was a real kick in the pants! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'll be by to visit you later. I hope you are safe and well. Take care my dear friend.

Your student is very lucky to get that Buckaroo! We're still enjoying ours. Thanks, that was very informative about the bearings. I really liked the music in your end shots.
Hi Bill! Thank you. I'm glad you are still enjoying your bucking bronco. Yeah, I would like to learn more about these bearing codes, especially what the last 2 letters stand for. The music is Silver Lakes by Wes Hutchinson from the YOuTube library; I really love his music! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Happy Sunday to you. Take care my friend.
Hi Charles! Thank you. Idle hands are the Devil's workshop, so I try to keep my hands busy. How is your Spring Charles? or is it Summer now? I always think of you when I see the roses in my yard. David did do a fantastic job, Todd! Very well done!!! The mineral oil on the rattle looks fantastic!! Such a rich sheen! I get a kick out of the farmer kick! Love it! Very interesting, I never knew that about bearings! I've no doubt the quality makes all the difference when it comes to the efficacy on a whirlygig!! Good to see you're doing well, my friend! All the best!! 💚
Hi Chris! Thank you. Yes, the mineral oil was a good idea; I put some on my cutting board too! Yeah, the famer getting kicked is comical I'm a little ashamed to say. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Yes, it's important to keep things spinning. I liken these whirligigs to Tibetan spinning prayer wheels that spread good fortune as they turn, so it is important to keep your whirligigs spinning if you want lots of good fortune. I hope you are safe and well. Happy Sunday to you. Take care my friend.
