I grow tons of alpine strawberries and I dry them for seeds and when you dry alpine strawberrys they turn into pure cotton candy flavoring! They smell stronger of cotton candy than normal cotton candy but completely naturally and super irresistible compared to actual cotton candy which I dont like much xD
In your opinion, why do some figs produce many and continual suckers while others produce none? Removing suckers seems to initiate ever more suckers. So, will this sucker producing fig never get lots of really good and large figs?
I can’t wait to taste my longue d’août figs, Ross have you tried Texas peach I remember you said you planted one I was wondering if they tasted like a peach 🙂
Benadryl, Ross ... works every time for me! Or you can down the hottest Jalapeno Salsa you can make. Clears out the sinuses like nothing else will! As for figs ...LSU Gold is about the same for me in terms of early production and more of a honey taste. It's flat bottom and open eye and checking for a syrup drip each day makes it amazing. Everyone knows Flat bottom FIGS make the world go round! Thanks for the video.Good luck on the sinuses!
Hello, your spreadsheet is very useful. Is it something you keep up to date, or something that has fallen behind? I see LdA is in C tier in your spreadsheet, so not sure if your opinion of it has changed, or if despite you liking it for taste you still consider it lower down the rankings. Thank you

Thanks for sharing
Any tips for propagating them?
Or a place I could buy starts?
@@RossRaddi i think seed companies sell bareroots
I have propagated 7 cuttings of this variety successfully. I want an army of its figs.
My extremely ripe LDA tasted more like acidic fruit punch. Rhode Island Zone 6B.
So you cut all the suckers so they would not produce?

The suckers next year if I protect them will produce high quality fruit.

Not this year.
Great video Ross! How close do you plant your fig trees?
These are 2-3 ft on center. In VA, I'd go about 6-10 ft.
@@RossRaddi I appreciate it!
Got damn…I need this in my collection. I’ve always passed it up but I think I can find space for it.
LOL! You are definitely a "figaholic!"

Lmao.
Pelegrino is the answer to your skin quest, basically same fig but splits probably 50% less than LDA

It's not updated in that regard. It's in the B tier.
If ripe figs travelled well, it would be so good to do taste comparisons of the same fig from different parts of the country, or other countries.
