Meh.. Industry Standard, really. Most large scooters can go 10, 11 or even 12mph, but I think the golden rule is 10mph (16kph). My scooter, with fresh batteries and full charge, with me (270lbs) on a flat stretch, can easily achieve 18kph, (22.5-12mph). My scooter (Invacare Comet Pro) is rated at 15-16kph (9.5-10mph). So top speeds are "relative" to the newness/quality of one's batteries.
@@gitarzan99 99%? Are you suuuure? 'Cause I have 3 full sized (1 x Invacare Comet Pro 1 x Fortress and an Eclipse Bigfoot) and 2 folding scooters in my garage right now. My slowest scooter is the older folding one that does about 7kph (4mph), but it is old, and not very good on rough surfaces - meant only for shopping/hospital use. My other folding scooter I ordered directly from Malaysia, with 2 different Li-Ion batteries - one that is airline safe, and the other, which has about 3x the storage for local trips. Both fit in the trunk of my Hyundai Elantra easily! The small "tube" designed scooter, with my wife riding, will reach over 25kph. I'm heavy, so it only gets up to about 17 or 18 if I'm lucky. Took it on an European Cruise and we had a great time! The full sized scooters all do "at least" 16kph (10mph), sometimes faster, sometimes slower, depending on terrain, weather/temp. But none of my 5 scooter does "4 mph" with 99% of the others, In my case, it represents perhaps 10% of our scooters. 99%? Get away from old age homes, where folks can handle a full-sized scooter, and they all go between 7 (Pride) and 10 (all others) mph (12-16 kph) Some 3-wheeled scooters will also do either 10 mph or as much as 20 mph! Gio sells a 3 wheeler and the only difference is that the "slightly more expensive" version has an extra speed setting - from 16kph up to 30 kph! These are not considered "Mobility Scooters", but as "Scooters" only, and must be ridden on roads. Helmets are required, insurance, registration and a plate. I've seen at least 2, perhaps more, in Downtown Edmonton, doing exactly this. I've also seen old folks, on a 3 and a 4-wheeler, in the left lane of a 4-lane road, on a Mobility Scooter. I had to flag them down and teach them the road rules - oh, btw, I teach safety courses on Mobility Scooter safety, driver training, maintenance and legal rights and responsibilities. For our Province, a seated person on a Handicap Mobility Scooter is considered to be a "pedestrian" and must adhere to the same laws as any other pedestrian. That means no driving on roads (unless no other choice), and if one must because of no sidewalks/trails, one must drive on the Left Hand side of the roadway facing the traffic, as close to the curb/edge as possible. Lights should be on, flag of some sort visible, etc, etc. Of the old folks I have helped, perhaps 3/4's of them had small to medium sized scooters, and yes, some of them were only 4mph and some were 7mph. But not 99%. I might add that this particular scooter, the Pride Wrangler, is NOT advertised as a handicap mobility scooter. It is just a "4-wheel electric scooter". And yes, it is somewhat faster than mobility scooters - I think it goes up to 17.7kph (12 mph) as an advertised top speed? That means IRL that it may get up to perhaps 20 kph with a new battery on a nice day. I've driven one in the city, and I much prefer the Invacare Comet's for comfort, speed, handling, body position (I found it atrocious on the Wrangler as I was always leaning forward to grasp the controls!) and can easily maneuvour in and about shops and stores.. Nope, I'll stay with true full-sized mobility scooters, thank you. Faster, carry more, more range, more safety, more options, more comfort. Just no comparison. Really. For about the same amount of money, one could purchase a new real 4-wheel drive (2 or 4 motors) that are intended to really explore the outdoors/hunting/fishing/camping. Those are the ones I would really like to purchase had I the funds. Peace, .- .-.
Wish my pride legend could do that but cant afford one and the VA wont get me one. I go in the woods all the time but have to stay on the trails. I used to sell Pride back in the 90s and they are great. My mother and i both own them

I've been using a mobility scooter for about 8 years now and Im on my fourth one. The first three were the pride brand and even though they didn't last long keep in mind I bought all three used, and I literally BEAT THE SHIT out of them. I used them as tractors, and race cars, and jumping off curbs, and I even used them for pushing cars believe it or not, true story, my buddy had a race car so occasionally he would have to push it out of his garage to trailer it, or push it up close to a start line, and I'd us my gogo scooter. Unfortunately the last used one I bought had a premature death so i was in the market for a new NEW one. But I went cheap sad to say and I bought a brand spankin new DRIVE brand scout model. WHAT A STINKIN PIECE O CRAP. I've had it less than 3 months now and it's already proven to be garbage for more reasons than i have time to list. And it isn't because I bought a defective machine, it's really more of a engineering issue, design issues. And not only does it not perform up to expectations, but I would also have to say it's literally dangerous. I have plenty of "RODEO" driving experience so I've learned how to effectively control it, but i would NEVER let my grandparents drive it, because they would kill themselves or break someones leg or ankle and get sued. Anyway, I don't work for any scooter company, i'm just a bored old retired dude with a little extra walkin around money (when my wife will give it to me) that wanted to warn the rest of the potential buyers about it. The Wrangler has 14 1/2" tubeless pneumatic tires just like the tires on your vehicle. I think you would have to worry just as much as driving around town in your vehicle which is probably not very often. Things can happen just like with your vehicle tires but if you watch what your driving over in the scooter I don't think you will have an problem. Hope that helps!
Done exactly that. Bought the trailer on Amazon for $105, bought a bunch of LED lights (Aliexpress.com), and wired the trailer to the scooter lights. I can pull 30-50lbs easily (but so far, have not needed to do so - largest item was a full 20lb propane tank LOL)
It was made for getting mobility impaired people mobile out off-road off the paths they are used to being on and those customers that have taken advantage of this unit have said how great it is that gives them the ability to go places they would be able to go normally so it needs to be larger, beefier and larger batteries than your "regular scooter". Size and turning radius makes it difficult for most Stores and shopping centers. Also difficult to transport with most carrier types. This is an outside scooter for parks and recreational needs. Scooters under 6 MPH are best for Wall marts with small turning radius.
Most scooters this size and power have a High range and a Low range. Personally, as soon as I enter any store, I automatically hit the high/low range button, and the scooter will still top out faster than the store-provided scooters, but be restricted to only half-speed.
This May Be The Scooter I've Been Looking For.. I Have Heart Problems.. I Even Have A Dual Chamber Pacemaker.. But My Problem Is? I Live In A VERY HILLY AREA.. The Scooter I Have Is Great Going Downhill And On Flat Sidewalks.. But When I Try To Make It Home? Going Up The Hill ALWAYS CAUSES THE SCOOTER'S BATTERIES To Go Dead.. So I Spend The Next 45 Minutes To An Hour Pushing The Scooter Up The Hill.. What Used To Be A 10 Minute Walk.. I Need A Scooter That Can Go Up Long Hills With At Least A 18% Grade That Doesn't Kill The Batteries.. I Know They Have To Be Out Here.. Because My Electric RYOBI Rider Mower Can Go Up And Down The Hill With No Problem.. But You Really Can't Ride A An Electric Ryder Mower On Main Street When You Need To Go Shopping Or To The Market.. I Can Ride My RYOBI Rider Mower To The Gas Station To Get Sodas Or Snacks Or Something. But Not To The Market To Buy Food Or Clothes.. I Use It Because It's Quite.. But I Do Need A Way To Be Able to Go To The Supermarket And Not Always Get Stuck Coming Home.. Maybe This Scooter Is The Answer.. I'm 6 Foot 3 Inches, And Weigh About 255 Pounds At My Heaviest.. So I Like The Height Of The Seat. Which For My Height Saves On My Back.. I Also Have Arthritis.. So That Also Would Be A God Send.. My Life In The Military Is Catching Up With Me In My Old Age I'm Guessing.. LOLOLOL!!! Again? This Scooter May Be Just What I'm Looking For.. FINGERS CROSSED...

I've had 7 mobility scooters. The last two were Pride XL140s- 10 mph(15kph). The closest competitor is 7.5 mph (12kph) in Australia . I give them a flogging out in the Scrub. The price of a new set of tires is abysmal. A bloody rip-off. BUT! If I had the money, I'd buy one tomorrow. This Bugger (Wrangler) hasn't shown it's head on Aussie market yet. I'M SEXCITED. Can't wait if price is right! ADVENTURE BEFORE DEMENTURE!
From what I see it's powerful but I don't like is the tilting on a slop just watching THAT gave me anxiety but of course I am over exceed the wieght limit which I'm working to control.

hows the traction on semi steep lose rock hills . what about extra battery's for longer travel time like if someone wanted to go camping could you charge the unit with a solar panel ?
@@draven1438 Hi, I do not have any answer for you on that, we only tested in on steep semi wet grass and it performed very well. You can upgrade the batteries from 75 amps to 100 amps.
I was just wondering cuz in my case Im a double below the knee amputee so I could put more battery's on the foot area as an idea would it be possible to rig that spot with 2 more battery's an a switch to go from the normal battery to the second battery when the first 2 die you still have a back up or even a small grapple wench to pull it out of steep muddy areas
@@draven1438 Nah, just wire them directly to the scooter in Parallel (the two being connected in series?), so you "double" your range. I've thought of doing just that by sticking 2 spare batteries in my trailer, run a line directly to the onboard batteries, and voila - 80km+ range (50 miles +). Perhaps this summer, I'll try this...

They Say It Wont.. But I Really Think It Can.. However? You'd Have To Get Wider Tires That Use Less Air In The Tires.. So As To Create A Bigger Footprint In The Sand.. (So To Speak..) Because The Harder The Tires ((Or The More Inflated The Tire.)) In The Sand? The Less Traction The Tires Will Be Able To Get In The Sand.. ((Think Snowshoes.)) So? You'd Probably Have To Have Your Own Tires And Rims Made To Fit The Scooter.. So As To Be Able To Ride In Sand.. Which Kind Of Opens Another Market.. 🙄🙄🙄🤨🤨🤨😶😶😶🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@Marcsmobility My brother's 4 wheel drive pickup would NOT do good on sand so we deflated the tires to about 20 pounds. Then the pickup did excellent. You might want to try deflating the tires and then see how your scooter does. Curious about the outcome.
True.. But You Can't Take A Car Into A Supermarket Or Department Store Like Walmart Or SAMS CLUB.. Or? Into A Hospital.. These Are All VERY BIG PLACES.. And, If You Have Problems Walking Long Distances Like I Do? A Scooter Like This Is A Godsend...
In conjunction with my Province's guidelines (and with assistance from someone from Disability Transportation Services), I have put together a Lesson Plan that I am still polishing up (with legal assistance from my RCMP detachment) to go around to Retirement Homes, Condo's and so on, and put on a 3-4 hour training session, starting with classroom session(s), then out to the parking lot to supervise correct scooter handling. Knee-jerk reaction, as I used to be a Driver/Examiner part time in another life LOL. I really need to get back to work on it though - Every Province/State seems to have their own "take" on Handicap/Mobility laws. Once I get it done, I plan on dropping a package off at each local store that sells Mobility scooters. If you want, drop me a line at nospam at ftsask dot ca, and I'll send you a copy of what I have (so far).
Cost is $5,299. I'm linking the webpage to this unit so you can check out the specs as well. marcsmobility.com/pride-baja-wrangler-2-heavy-duty-mobility-scooter.html
About the only thing that will come off is the Chair, and the cowling covering the batteries. Otherwise, that's about it. Not surprising, as most large scooters are too heavy to even break down (if they could).
I could use that. I live in America and it took me months to get this wheelchair. I am a double amputee you think they would have a little compassion and give me a wheelchair so I don’t have to crawl on the floor. So I went out and stole one. Like it’s been said here in a America only money they accept all others take a walk. Some of us can’t walk so we have to crawl away.
I'm Thinking If You'd Let A Little Air Out Of The Tires On The Drive Wheels? You May Get More Traction On Sand Because You Create Larger Contact Points Which Allows More Traction.... The Harder The Wheels In Sand? The Less Traction... However? You Must Remember.. You'll Lower The Height Of The Scooter.. I Used To Be A Technician In The ARMY.. LOLOLOL!!!
Looks well-built. However it’s too large. Can’t fit in the elevator with it. I’m sure it’s hard to get through doorways. Looks like a well built machine.

I am a 260# disabled man, will it haul me for 15 miles ?

Great video! How does it do on sand?
It will not go on beach sand! We tried :(
Thanks for trying. I only know of one that will unless someone corrects me. Its hard to make one that does everything and is comfy I would think. Cheers for testing. U guys rock!

Like a quad.
Very nice scooter..how much the cost of that..
On Sale now $4599 delivered 800 677 6293 Thanks Marc

Supper scooter sir
Do you have a distributor here in the Philippines? Who's in charge pls?
We do not
This May Be The Scooter I've Been Looking For..
Yes this scooter climbs off road hills like no other scooter I have seen on the market.
I own the older model wrangler and it's power is far more then enough to get you up your hill. Battery conditions dictate the trip of course.
Please list the spec and price

I've had 7 mobility scooters. The last two were Pride XL140s- 10 mph(15kph). The closest competitor is 7.5 mph (12kph) in Australia . I give them a flogging out in the Scrub. The price of a new set of tires is abysmal. A bloody rip-off. BUT! If I had the money, I'd buy one tomorrow. This Bugger (Wrangler) hasn't shown it's head on Aussie market yet. I'M SEXCITED. Can't wait if price is right!
ADVENTURE BEFORE DEMENTURE!
From what I see it's powerful but I don't like is the tilting on a slop just watching THAT gave me anxiety but of course I am over exceed the wieght limit which I'm working to control.
the footrest is at a ridiculous angle, looks terrible
They should of put 2 small motors on the front axle. Or put one large motor in the centre and use open and lockable diffs.
Sumbitch flies! Will the airlines allow it? I pretty much need one of these babies!😎
No this is not going to be something you would be able to travel with.
i got a chance to buy this its a 2021 for 800 bucks works great but batteries are getting weak
You should jump on that unit for $800 as long as its in good condition. As far as the batteries, we can get you a set of batteries for that scooter. If you wanted dual 75A batteries you are looking $450 or dual 100A batteries would be $600.

We call this Pride Ranger in UK 🇬🇧.
Here it’s not allowed to go faster than 8 mph 😢.
Yes that is the issue with some countries and regulations!
Is there a basket connection ?
Yes you can get a front basket for this unit now!
This one looks too big for the harmar hd rear lift. Is it?
Yes this is to big for any of the electric lifts.

The unit is not a 4x4 unit but can go most places.
hows the traction on semi steep lose rock hills . what about extra battery's for longer travel time like if someone wanted to go camping could you charge the unit with a solar panel ?

Whats the price in UK pounds ?
Hi, I am not sure we only sell these here in the US
I wish they would build a chair like that because I’m looking for a new four-wheel-drive one. I can’t drive a scooter.
Try a v6 frontier
I like the height
Yes the ground clearance helps you get areas most all of scooters can not.
I Like The Seat Height Too.. I'm 6ft 3in Tall.. It Looks Like It Would Be A Lot Easier Sitting And Getting Up After Longer Trips..
Can it jump ramps?
It could but its not meant to be jumping curbs and could possibly do damage to the unit which wouldn't be covered under warranty

will it drive on sand?
No it will not. We took it to the beach to test it out so we are 100% sure it will not on loose sand
@@Marcsmobility My brother's 4 wheel drive pickup would NOT do good on sand so we deflated the tires to about 20 pounds. Then the pickup did excellent. You might want to try deflating the tires and then see how your scooter does. Curious about the outcome.
That's almost as much as a car. Very nice!!!

Make sure that you give someone very good instructions how to drive safely when riding a scooter that goes that fast. Especially elderly people.

Don't give a price.
Does it break down ?
About the only thing that will come off is the Chair, and the cowling covering the batteries. Otherwise, that's about it. Not surprising, as most large scooters are too heavy to even break down (if they could).
No doughnuts and burnouts?
Looks great.

Can it go on the beach?
We have not tested in on loose beach sand. If the tires had a little more grab to them then I don’t think power wise it would have any issue.
how working accelerator plz show
I'm Thinking If You'd Let A Little Air Out Of The Tires On The Drive Wheels? You May Get More Traction On Sand Because You Create Larger Contact Points Which Allows More Traction.... The Harder The Wheels In Sand? The Less Traction... However? You Must Remember.. You'll Lower The Height Of The Scooter.. I Used To Be A Technician In The ARMY.. LOLOLOL!!!

Looks well-built. However it’s too large. Can’t fit in the elevator with it. I’m sure it’s hard to get through doorways. Looks like a well built machine.
Yes this is more for off roads in big fields
31” wide fits thru most doorways and all commercial elevators
