Since Black males where not seen as adults they called them boys hence the word cowboy. Also, country music along with most music genres were started by Black's, but were soon dominated by Whites because of the heads of the music industry.

I love Charlie Pride's music! I was very sad when he passed away. I remember how hard it was for him to get accepted by the country music community. I was a kid then. But Charlie developed a lot of really good friendships in the industry. I really like Shaboozey, too! His song Highway is very good! 🤠👍🏼

They mixed with the Irish population, but found themselves with a religion that didn't fit with the local Catholic majority and were being pressured to become Anglicans by the government that had already showed they were nothing more to it than useful fools. So, they emigrated again, as the Scotch-Irish, to the American colonies. Their descendents ended up in places like Appalachia, living a hard life that at least offered some independence in choosing the kind of land no one wanted to fight them for. Country music came from roots of dissapointment, hard times, being underfoot and out of place, being caught between identities and through it all just wishing to be left alone long enough to build a life and get by. It has sounds that long after a peaceful life and a contented home from people who knew peace, contentment, and home are never found for long this side of the grave.
