Why are you people in the west so obsessed with race? Who cares what color the person is. I swear western leftism is trying their hardest to keep racial division alive and rampant. Who cares! I think black people in your countries need to take the first step, they can't speak one sentence without talking about color skin. Go to Brasil where everyone is one people but your US bullshit spreads like a disease.
I love Charlie Pride's music! I was very sad when he passed away. I remember how hard it was for him to get accepted by the country music community. I was a kid then. But Charlie developed a lot of really good friendships in the industry. I really like Shaboozey, too! His song Highway is very good! 🤠👍🏼
There are generations of black cowboys. He sings country better than some well known country singers. Big fan!! New favorite song!!! ❤❤❤❤. Beautiful voice!!
Fun/sad fact the word cowboy was actually used for Black enslaved ranchers first, but then transitioned to White ranchers as well. Since Black males where not seen as adults they called them boys hence the word cowboy. Also, country music along with most music genres were started by Black's, but were soon dominated by Whites because of the heads of the music industry.
@ wow i didn’t know that part of history. Thanks for sharing. I only knew about famous black cowboys and the ones that continue their family legacy these days in certain states. But that makes sense that the sad slavery part would be used to tend for the ranch while the white men went to war. It still bothers me that black cowboys still faced discrimination even as free slaves. You would think there would be a code of honor no matter what.
People waking up to country being purely American and not about color is the best thing to happen in music, possibly ever. If you're American, country is for all of us. Love and story telling is what its all about. God bless all
Just like how "Rich Men North of Richmond" speaks to us all. We're all American, and need to keep the goobermint goons from dividing us based on superficial things like skin color. Music is universal.
@@caseyweber4503 they don’t need to have the same sound. they’re both black artists in a traditionally white genre and they deserve recognition. why are you so mad? lol
Darius Rucker, Jimmie Allen, Charlie Pride. Kane Brown are all artists of colors all of them Grammy winners! I love what’s happening in country music! All is welcome!
@@JanetOstermeyerI was responding to his comment that he’s never seen people of color in country music and I was pointing out that there were many out there that are amazing. You don’t know me so don’t assume I was making a comment about race. I was simply pointing out there are amazing artists out there if all colors and that is amazing that more people are turning to country music and discovering. Chill. Geez.
I just saw him on the CMA singing this song and I’m…. This white 57 yr old woman …… is OBSESSED with this song and I can’t wait for more of his to come out!!!!!
Its because its a remake of tipsy. Songs mad old now so you dont subconsciously remember it, but its there. Sounds familiar, but just can't put your finger on it.
First heard the whole tune today, he was on Lions game halftime. There's this black dude singing tipsy and the whole mostly white stadium is going CRAZY ! This just an old school hit song, everybody gets off.
It's def country and Shaboozey is what Lil Nas X wishes he was. Shaboozey is from Virginia and listened to country music introduced to him from his dad who originally lived in Texas after migrating from Nigeria. His southern country roots are showing up now for sure.
@goarmysleepinthemud. I don't really think that's the case lol. He's very gimmicky and hops to new shock tactics and changes a lot to try and stay relevant
I just seem him watching him doing the half time game I really ❤ this song I'll love to see him preform one day I'm blk man 71 yrs old I always ❤all kinds of music .
You must not live in the south and you must not go to bars or clubs! This song plays ALL the time and dj’s in clubs remix it with J-Kwon’s original “Tipsy” and it’s a whole vibe. Everybody loves this song!
I'm a Nigerian, but didn't even know that he was Nigerian American at all...I just fell in love with his music... Wow his name is Collins Obinna Chibueze...wow that's awesome
Charlie Pride won a Grammy in 1972 (if you’ve never listened to him… good, ole classic country!) and then Darius Rucker in 2013 for Wagon Wheel… cause that song was EVERYWHERE. Still is sometimes! lol Several nominations for artists and then awards for writers too.
@imakimmy2 Whoa there lil buckaroo!! The Grammy comment is in response to CHASEYODREAMS question if this could be the first black country Grammy winner.
Morgan Wallen was the first country musician I actually willingly listened to, and then I heard this song (ironically at a bar). Thank goodness for Shazam. I can't get enough of this song!
Hi, it is the first time I come across your channel. I don't have much to do with songs much, but you right it got me. It would take lot for me to he is great 👍. And I found video on it great.
Nahh I just got put onto these black country artists around Beyonce’s cowboy carter album release. So far Shaboozey and Willie Jones recent album have been my favorites
It's funny, I just listened to this song yesterday and your reaction is so fun. It's a pretty classic country bar song, simple tune and lyrics, deeper message. The reason people like this song is because it's cathartic af. Everyone has troubles they can drown in some Jack. Gorgeous fiddle, fun references to some classic hip-hop songs, good vibes.
He grew up in Virginia. He is not the first black man to be in country music. All his music is amazing. And this is one of the most fun songs. Look up the story about Jack Daniels and Nathan. I believe that is a reference to the history of Jack Daniels. Charley Pride ad Darius Rucker both won grammys for country music.
He grew up here in Virginia with country influences then in his teen years loved hip hop. He took them and blended them in the most ingenious and original way. He has basically invented a whole new genre.
I’m loving that country music is getting the resurgence and acceptance by everyone it deserves. For too long it was relegated to only a few people, and most forgot that it is supposed to be the music of the everyday person. It’s got history in blues, Cajun, Tejano, and gospel. It’s awesome that Shaboozey is bringing this back! Hell yeah y’all. Let’s grab a drink and have a party!
I am 64 years old and the reason your loving this and dancing to him is simply because he is insanely fun and in the unstable world we now find ourselves living in , well this is just pure goodness .
I asked my grand-daughter if she ever heard of a song on top hits for 10 weeks and she said ya , so I asked her to show me. Ohhhhh I love this song ! Makes you want to get up and start moving......good lord!
Tyler Childers I would recommend, particularly "Nose on the Grindstone." Uncle Lucius "Keep the Wolves Away." Whiskey Meyers "Bury My Bones." Also Shane Smith and the Saints "All I See is You."
Its because this is amazing artistry right here❤. Everything comes together in this one song! It takes mad skill to pull off a piece that pulls everyone in from EVERY WHERE❤
It is so much fun! Shaboozy has this old lady jamming in her car here in VA, and I am not a country fan. This song made me do some searching; his “Let it Burn” is on repeat right now!!
Oh and as of today he is the first black man to reach #1 on BOTH the Hot 100 Billboard AND the Hot 100 Country Billboard
W history
I didn’t know that - how cool!
Why are you people in the west so obsessed with race? Who cares what color the person is. I swear western leftism is trying their hardest to keep racial division alive and rampant. Who cares! With the same song, yes. Darius Rucker had number 1 on the pop with Hootie, and several number 1 country songs by himself.
Good for him FINALLY
Charley Pride was the first black country singer to win a Grammy
everyone forgets about him but he was a legend in the late 60's early 70's
Wish they'd make a movie about him!
I was thinking the same thing when he mentioned a Grammy.
I love Charlie Pride's music! I was very sad when he passed away. I remember how hard it was for him to get accepted by the country music community. I was a kid then. But Charlie developed a lot of really good friendships in the industry. I really like Shaboozey, too! His song Highway is very good! 🤠👍🏼
@@sjjb6780 that would be amazing! I wonder who could play him in the movie.
There are generations of black cowboys. He sings country better than some well known country singers. Big fan!! New favorite song!!! ❤❤❤❤. Beautiful voice!!
Theer have generations of black cowboys that were not singers out west all men were measured by there worth. The free black man excelled.

Truth. Love & helping your brothers & acceptance is the country community
definitely. it's exactly what we need in the world right now.
100%

Apparently it's insanely popular in Sweden and the UK as well. Think it blew up over there first which is funny.
darius rucker and charlie pride deserve their flowers for country
And Kane Brown… especially with Gen Z!
@@SimonRiley3443 most definitely.
I believe Charlie pride paved the way for them.

Real country fans give them their flowers. Especially😊 Charley Pride, who’s an absolute legend in country music.

Let’s not forget War & Treaty now!! Love all these artists
And Cowboy Troy.
Why is color always so important to put in your face. Enjoy him singing, he is good and a human. Stop the race thing.

SHABOOZEY IS 🔥 FIRE
Yes he is!!!
I just saw him on the CMA singing this song and I’m…. This white 57 yr old woman …… is OBSESSED with this song and I can’t wait for more of his to come out!!!!!
He just had 3 encore demands at the stampede! Best concert I have seen in a while! The cowboys and cowgirls sang every word
My 1st dose of Shaboozy and I AM ADDICTED!
Loved your commentary! I can’t stop listening to this song. Shaboozey should have won a CMA award or two! 💗 🤩
I didn’t watch, but he didn’t get any?
Its because its a remake of tipsy. Songs mad old now so you dont subconsciously remember it, but its there. Sounds familiar, but just can't put your finger on it.
I felt the same way when I first heard this (and even now). It is hard to NOT move and sing along. Such a catchy song. Love him!

I feel the same way as you, crazy how music can reach around the world. Best wishes in your life. Peace from Michigan, USA.
I love this guy and this song. No way you can not turn the volume up and dance in the car seat while driving.
Hell with that, windows down singing at the top of my lungs!

You're HOOKED! Just like the REST OF US😂🎉
He's from Fairfax Virginia, more specifically Woodbridge...the outer suburbs of D.C. so yeah definite southern vibes

That makes him a Nigerian-American, or American if he grew up in America and is a citizen. That's not Nigerian. 🙄
@TheWrightDev916 so cos I grow up in the states, my Nigerian DNA gets wiped out?
All my uncles, cousins in Nigeria now no longer have my DNA? 🤷♂️
The best reaction video for Tippsy! "We need more of this!"
