I absolutely adore Ubbe! He's easily the most overlooked character in this entire show! Hell, half the time i people on line bashing him for being a betrayer to Ivar he's a moron for trying to make peace. That last part was a def mistep, but how could he have fully known that the treaty Eckbert had made wasn't valid any longer which if he had known about - he would never had gone out there to meet with the Saxons the way he did. That said, it was he who remembered what his father told him about the best time to attack Saxon towns/cities was to do so on their days of worship, (though they prolly woulda taken the city anyways, but woulda suffered much more losses if they had charged on in there the way Ivar wanted to). Then he and B'jorn helped to create the battle strategy which lead to them annihilating Ivar and Herald''s armies at the first big battle and woulda ended up being enough to either end the war or at least force Ivar to pull back and replenish his forces which woulda given them more time to further build up the defenses of Katikat and go gain more allies in it's defense. This woulda been the case if it' wasn't for Hvitsig offering to go to Rollo and succeeding in bringing in a massive Frankish army to bolster their ranks. But not only is he not power hungry and is prolly by far the most honorable character on the show currently, he's easily the next best warrior behind B'jorn and the Bishop! He's a fuckin beast
I think Ragnar would be proud of both Ubbe and Ivar, and respect that the world isn't a perfect place, and be sad they could not have remained close, but understand it just was not possible for Ubbe's dutifulness and Ivar's ambition to work together.
People underestimate all the characters in the show. Ubbe is one of them. Ubbe is the most passionate when it comes to family. Just like Ragnar. I love him. I hope his arc ends well.
Ubbe is underrated... every one has been busy obsessing over ivar and lagertha. Ubbe and bjorn dont get enough love... especially ubbe. My favorite character. He is much more mature than every one else, level headed, a great warrior. And he just kind of chills in the back watching most of the time. Those are the people you should fear. And to top it all off, he just always looks badass. The ponytail and the beard, only other person that looked good like that was ragnar.
You can really kind of feel his transition and growth is a character. Ubbe starts as kind of just another one of the brothers then he can almost becomes an observer watching events unfold and finally he takes control to come Center Stage. Basically having him step out of the Shadows of Ivar and Bjorn.
Very good job on showing the similarity on Ubbe and Ragnar. From all the brothers Ubbe the most like his father, in look and behavior. (I am still very much #teamivar. Gotta love that angry crippled child going mental, and the amazing acting job Alex does on him)

Maybe I'm an idiot, but the only time we've seen Ivar (for lack of a better term) beg was when Ubbe was leaving him in York. Those two saw what Rollo and Ragnar saw in each other. Underneath all the other emotions, context, elements etc etc.... they respect and fear each other and what the other is capable of

I love Ubbe.I think his only weakness is he is love his brothers so much. Ivar is so heartless to beign a king I think. (Sorry for bad english :D)

Ubbe is the solution to Vikings biggest problem. After season 4 the show didn't have a main character and I think focusing on Ubbe would fix that.

My second favorite character after Aethelwulf... the paralells with Ragnar are awesome
