Too bad you are wrong. IF Ivar was so great he'd be the one added in his proper place in the series as eldest son, which he was. BUt since the show did not know there would be more thatn one season they moved Björn to the place of first born because everyone knows Björn Ironside was the greatest sea king of the age, greater than even Ragnar. Plus, no one cries their way into Valhalla, no leader is going to side with christians to torment and attack their own people, Ivar is that asshole. Put your hat back on.

so it would've been good to see sigurd alive, just to put ivar back in his place

Bjorn is the adventurer, Ragnar's curiousity, but also the loving, caring part. Ubbe is the leadership, the peacemaker. Ivar is Ragnar's brilliance at strategies, his ruthless side. Hvutserk is the simple warrior, the playful part that lives in the moment. Sigurd was the rebel, constantly questioning and daring.

Poor Ragnar. Died alone, forsaken by his sons, betrayed by his brother, couldn't protect his best friend from being murdered by his other best friend, lost his wife (Lagertha, his only true love), lost his faith in the Gods, lost his daughter to sickness and death, hated by his own people and blamed for the murder of the settlers in England and ultimately a failure. Such a sad story.

Go and watch Vikings and then find something actually relevant to write according to the show. Also Ivar stood with Ragnar until last, carrying out his ambitions and dreams, defeated King Aelle and King Echbart for Ragnar and so as well his other sons joined to his cause as well.

Bjorn should be the best...but there's no account of him or any of his brothers ruling Norway. He sets up his own kingdom in Sweden .The real success story of Ragnar's sons (according to the sagas) will be Ivar. He becomes the King of Ireland, and founds the Ui Ifar, one of the most powerful dynasties to rule Ireland until the English conquest of Ireland by Long Shanks (a descendant of Rollo).

i like when Sigurd is apart of the sons of Ragnar edits. so often the forget about him, yes he wasn't able to do much and he had so much anger in him. but he was a son of Ragnar, and he was fiercely loyal to Bjorn which i loved to see.
They wasted his character.
I love hvisterk his character is real starting to.grow he is destined for great things cause he has be the one that was down played the whole time and always in the background. Ubbe is another one that while live up to his father he maybe even better. Bjorn is already after doing everything and more
Ubbe and Ivar are the two faces of Ragnar.Ubbe is a good warrior but does not want to fight, he wants to live a simple life for himself and his people, while Ivar has the brain of Ragnar he does not want to be a war tactician, war commander farmer and remember Ragnar chose him and told him he was ruthless because Ragnar saw his own mistakes He learned, you cannot make peace with the Saxons, they will betray your terms, look what happened when he made a deal with Ragnar and Ecbert.The moment Ragnar left his people, he died because, like Ubbe, the brass was naive enough to do it, so he chose Ivar.

They each shared different qualities of Ragnar; hvitserk was the fighter and overcoming of addiction, ivar was the ruthlessness/brutality and the intelligence, bjorn was the powerful leader, and ubbe was the curiosity, kindness and adventure.. and also looked the most like his father imo

And in terms of favourites, mine will always be Ivar for first place.. and Hvitserk second :)

I grew up reading mythologies of different cultures and civilisation which insanely influence my love for myths, folklore and folktales. Norse mythology and the legendary story of ragnar lothbrok has been one of my top fav myths around the world. When I first read it or learn of this myth, I dreamt of it. I believed it must be true and it is true that ragnar lothbrok existed until I learn another version story of this same man. Until finally both Google and this Netflix series proved me right that I'm right in the existence of ragnar lothbrok and his sons moreover my major in history subject proved me right.
