Looks like at the time of this video being published (12/30/2024), a DJI Terra Pro Permanent (1 device) license is USD $4,400 that includes your first year of updates and then a $440 annual maintenance fee can be purchased to keep current with updates AFTER the first year. Pretty inexpensive when considering other options on the market for what you're getting. Billy is Terra your primary mapping software? How does it compare to any of the other options you've used/use presently?
It is also critical to note that the M3T does NOT have microsecond time sync, meaning that the images from the M3T are not tagged with RTK data (if you were using the RTK top hat). Thus you cannot expect any benefit from using RTK aside from the flight path potentially being straighter and more controlled. And yes as Billy noted the visual sensor is pretty garbage compared to the M3E mechanical shutter camera. Can you map with the M3T? Yes technically, but not like you can with the M3E. Your accuracy, color, and resolution will be very poor.
Great work thanks for the instruction. I hope to put it to good use in the not too distant future. My offer to observe assist and learn on any of your jobs in Philly stands. I have my trust cert and am studying for my part 107 and at 56 years old want to learn as much as I can as efficiently as possible. I am a 14 year Army vet, reliable and motivated. LMK if you ever need a little help, a visual observer, or if you're just going to be in the area and don't mind if I watch. Thanks a bunch for what you do, Sarge 🇺🇲
@Youno954 dronedeploy or pix4d support the Mavic 3, only the enterprise level or older drones like the Mavic 2 pro, Mavic Pro and Phantom series. I think the Air 2 is on that list also.
Exported flight routes can be used only on Phantom 4 RTK (remote controller without screen), Matrice 300 RTK + H20 Series Payloads, Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced, Matrice 350 RTK, DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series (DJI Mavic 3E and DJI Mavic 3T), and Matrice 30 Series. and unless you pay thousands of dollars for pro version of Terra you can’t process 3D model.
Looking forward to the DJI Agras content next...
Interesting informations, but you should try to breath and calm down perhaps every minute or so. 😀 Have a good New Year! 🙂
Bro! Seriously cool! Really like the detailed breakdown
Like always thank’s for the video !
Excellent video! Thank you for the information, it's all very interesting.
Good step by step info Billy
I would love to try the dataset of the construction site but didn't see it in the description. Could you add it? Thanks!
Can you use the air 2s
Hi it’s wonderful video but I saw you are taking photos in 4:3 not in 16:9 is there any difference when you upload the photos in Dji terra

Billy , Could you send me the USS United States Ship raw files ? Otherwise I would have to drive to there myself with my P1

I can't seem to get a solid answer, can I use my original Mavic 3 (not Mavic 3T or classic or PRO) for this?
No, only enterprise drones.
No, the consumer level Mavic 3 does not work with the Pilot 2 app
Not with DJI app, but you can use Mavic 3 for modeling with different apps like “Drone Deploy”, PIX4D. But these apps usually paid
