@@keithwesley9880 #metoo man. Every now and then I have to do this thing I call purging. I am autistic and my emotions can be difficult to control. I find if I pick an evening to play some highly emotional songs that hit me deep and just freely let it all out I have an easier time in my day to day life. This song has made the purge list.

Jelly Roll makes music for the people what don't know how to ask for help. He makes music for the people recovering from addiction of any and all kinds. His newest songs "she'' and ''need a favor'' speaks volumes about this. Jelly Roll saved my mother, and made her realize that she was losing her daughter and pushing her away. And he saved me because the day after my final attempt on my life, I listened to this song and he saved me. And I cried for hours listening to this song.
This was the first song I ever heard by Jelly and I have been hooked since. It touches your soul. Nearly 19 years clean I know that lost feeling even today.

This is completely about addiction and some of us are still locked in this situation even they we know shouldn't be. No it is life and we know we are wrong but haven't figured out how to change it yet. It is a hard road and some things are really hard to get over.
He was an addict. He still smokes weed and drinks alcohol. But he really did turn his life around. That's his redemption song

This is one of my husband's favorite artists whenever he gets depressed he listens to this song and it calms him down after going through the house fire we went through he suffers with PTSD depression and annexity.

The way I've read it, he went to jail or prison at 14 he was in and out for years. One day someone took him to a Craig Morgan concert and heard Almost Home and changes happened. Craig heard about it and invited Jelly to sing it with him at the Grand Ol' Oprey. There is a video about it. Previously Jelly was a rapper.
I'm a 45 year old male, and everytime I hear this. I still tear up.
This brings my own past and my own dark thoughts back to me. Where I always thought I was never good enough cause I wasnt whole. Homeless and broken man, still think I'm never good enough. This man has really hit the heart chords with an anvil the size of the moon!

The oprey its basically the biggest honor a country singer can receive is to be invited to play the oprey. Its got a super long history and most big label country artists spend their career hoping to get that invite and most dont get it. To be independent , its almost unheard of. And the fact that Jelly is typically a rapper.... Its just crazy. He gets real emotional.

That's emotion, my dood. It is a softness, but that's okay. As a society we've made the mistake of confusing softness with weakness. For example: does this man JellyRoll look weak to anyone?
He is a depressed person who struggles daily like many others including me I can relate to this

This man has been through more in his life and then anybody could probably imagine. But with the help of his beautiful wife he scraped himself off the ground after getting out of jail he decided to change his life. He was in jail for drugs and I believe attempted armed robbery. Not only is he crazy successful right now in country music and probably will be for a long time he is the most humble generous man I've ever seen. At his concerts people hold up signs of their family members that have either passed from drug overdoses or are struggling with drugs and he will literally stop the concert take their signs read them and have them go backstage afterwards so he can sit with them and talk. He and his wife gave Christmas to 10,000 kids last year he sings and visits jails and juvenile detention centers about redemption. And the most impressive to me is he spoken front of a congressional committee about fentanyl and you could hear a pin drop not even papers shuffling It was silent as everyone listened to his words. You should check that out but it was really really good.
