- Miku never meant to play guitar, but once Saiki came along as lead singer, she decided to learn and Kanami began teaching her. She took her mentoring role very seriously, encouraging Miku when she almost quit, writing riffs with Kobato's skill progress in mind and challenging her with more stand-alone moments during concerts.
Almost eleven years later, gone are the days of the guitar being almost an accessory around Miku's shoulder. She's now is a solid rhythm guitarist that can keep up with BAND-MAID's most complex songs and Kanami is still her mentor and her biggest fan 💜

@@Parker-- that’s what’s being a leader is about. She is the founder and came up with the concept. She is the Otis Williams of the group for anyone who understands that Temptation reference. She is the leader behind the scenes. People stare at the other 4 but she is the bands rigger for their triggers.
Not only is Kanami proud, all of us Maidiacs are proud of what the pigeon has created and accomplished.

That moment for me was during the Christmas acoustic concert when Miku was the sole guitarist, accompanying herself with Akane and Misa, as she sang Time and Sayonakidori. She was the lead guitarist during those songs -- no Kanami to do the heavy lifting for her.
She was shining bright during the acoustic Po ☺️🕊️💜

The Pigeon that initially told her guitar maker Zemaitis that No, she wasn't going to play an acoustic guitar and wouldn't need one...they made one for her anyway.
I think we all shared in Kanami's joy at seeing Miku ring out the chords at the beginning of the song and lead with her guitar.

Kanami is 100% right, Miku's solo was a huge highlight, but when you look at the smile on Miku's face while she's doing it, that's what makes it THE highlight of that entire concert (that was FULL of highlights).

@@c.7610 My feeling is, these girls are not selling their sex to us. And that's fine with me, it no longer has a grip on me. So we see them as they are. Lovely, talented and very genuine. Very unusual, only children have it. And with them it's an absence of that quality. More a survival trait. Old age has a way of opening our eyes to the essence of things. At least some of us. Feeling grateful for it.
As a old guy 59.5...thats played in bands forever...I can tell the chemistry...that they improvise...jam ...like no other bands out there...many of the best tunes were made up just by jamming ...you can tell they have it!!!... Love these girls...best band in years!!!

Kanami lifts each member of Band-Maid. MISA said that Kanami always praises her. Akane contributes her skill and drive to be better to Kanami. She works tirelessly so that she can perform double pedal kick drum licks whenever and however long that Kanami wants. She encourages Saiki to write more lyrics. Kanami, we love you.
I have a daughter who is only a year younger than Saiki. When I see these ladies, I can't help feeling the same level of protectiveness as a proud father would. I just want my 5 'daughters' to never grow cynical and always embrace love and positivity despite living in a difficult world and navigating the harsh realities of showbiz and being in the glare of publicity. Together, they embody perfection even as they each come with individual imperfections. Protect them.

Seeing Kobato basking in her rockstar glory always puts a big smile on my face and a small tear in my eye. And, the glory is earned. It is also so heartwarming to see the admiration that comes from her sensei, Kanami!

Seeing live performance where Mincho and Miku playing guitar together is always a treat. Looking at Kanami's face you see her pride in watching her prized student knowing how far she has come as a guitarist.
Now seeing Kobato center stage playing by herself is awesome. The Pigeon did it. She has become the rock star she always wanted to be.

Miku is always my inspiration. Whenever I'm down and something happens to me that I say "I'm done! I don't wanna try anymore! That's enough!", I remember miku and her determination and I get encouraged instantly and I say "Let's try again! Don't give up! Don't give in!"

They basically helped each other in their goals and achievements in life. One the architect and visionary who gave them all a successful careers. And one who became her sidekick teacher and partner in crime. Helping her to do so ! The two most important decisions Miku made are. Having the idea for and creating this amazing band. Recently had a conversation with a friend about just how inspirational Miku is. The band was her idea, recruited Kanami Akane and Misa. Recognized that her voice wasn't the best fit as lead vocalist selflessly gave up the lead vocal spot for Saiki. Started to learn guitar and put a lot of work in with Kanami's teaching and look at how good she is at guitar now. Hard work and sacrifice I always enjoy the Kanami/Miku guitar parts from the lives just cause you know there is a special bond between them and getting to see Miku's growth
This is the kind of friends you need! Those who are happy for your achievements and let you be in the highlights, not the ones who try to steal it! Kanami is truly a great friend and teacher to Miku! And I can safely say from all the Madiacs that we are super proud of how far Miku came with her guitar journey!

They each bring something very powerful to the band and the group. That's their secret source, they put in the work on their friendship too.
I see the two of them as the core of the band-Kanami for her undoubted musical genius and Miku for her great lyrical talents and endless organizational energy.
There isn't a thing I don't love about all these young ladies but that was so sweet.
This was one of the coolest moments in a show full of them. Kanami's joy and pride in seeing her friend and student do thus is wonderful to witness. What a beautiful difference from the selfishness and ego so often seen in bands today. Kanami-chan is truly a gift!! ❤😊🎸🥰🍰☕

But i must say that it takes all of Band Maid to make the Dynamic and Phenominal Band the have become. Yes, I've had the same thought. I really do think it's a combination of everything. The songwriting, the skill of each member, Saiki s voice, their hard work to achieve this level of musicianship, their personalities and their selflessness, on and on. The result is this miraculous band

Band Maid is a story of achievement and success.
This was epic. As a grown man not used to tears this cracked me up big time. I guess youd have to follow the bands progress to understand how momentous this moment was. Over the top reaction? No way. IT was awesome. It still brings goosebumps the size of walnuts on me. Kanami and Miku awesome!!!! : )
