hey zack nice build. just wanted to give you a little tip. the reason the cementall separated away from the barrier at the top is because you are applying a cementitious product to a painted surface and it's not bonding properly. to get a good bond you need to grind off some of the paint, then wet or use some bonding adhesive on the barrier so the cementall can bond to the concrete below the paint and then it will be much stronger. i use an angle grinder with a cup wheel to do it. it's dusty and loud but it only takes a minute and it'll make the end product a lot better. another thing i wanted to say and it's not really a tip, more of a suggestion, but if you have spots that are close to your house and and you can park right near it why not mix all the concrete at home, put it in buckets and then put it in the back of your truck/suv and go right to the spot and dump it all real quick. if you use regular quikrete it's probably not going to go bad in the back of your truck as long as you don't fuck around. just gotta make sure all your prep work is all done beforehand.
I love these videos you have such a relaxing voice and it's so obvious how passionate you are about skateboarding it's cool how it's like all skateboarders kind of know each other we're kind of like all in the same group
looks like you need a hand trowel for mixing, the screeding trowel works ok but a purpose small one would be great. obviously shovel works but small handheld you could mix in circles. enjoyed a fair few of your videos on this journey of yours! good stuff.
Here’s a tip from someone who actually works with conrete on the daily. Stop with Bondo and buy yourself a bag of CementAll. Excellent for feathering in and dries quickly. Bit pricey for a bag at around $25,but it’ll go a LOT farther than a can of bondo.
Not that you needed it for this build, but you should look in to plasticiser to mix with the water. Will reduced the amount of water you need for the concrete. Good for those remote builds.
In Lue of rebar chicken wire folded into the cement would help with a bit more structural to the cement although add cost…? Cutting the thin tip with the trowel and adding that to the transition as we both know a bit of bondo is going to be needed anyways… nice work bruh! Paint it and it’ll disappear to most people ❤
Also this is clearly a development so thats gotta stay disposable sadly. Check your local recycling centres for paint cans on a side note. I know where I live u can grab paint from them
I know that that construction vest can stop an officer from stopping, but it hasn't happened to you that one comes and asks you what's going on or you've been arrested. I wish someone would make those spots in my city, I'm very cowardly I wouldn't dare haha
You know when you take a blanket and push your cloth together and it makes a transition? There’s got to be a way to utilize that method and make a skatepark out of pushing fabric together somehow and pour cement in a way that looks like your bed sheet transitions. Weird I know but fuck it why not think about its possible?
G'day Zack. I am 53 years old and getting back into skating bowls. I haven't skated for 3 years. Do you think I should get an 8.75 inch board with 14.25 inch wheel base and some Ace AF1 66 trucks? I would really appreciate your help. Kind regards Glenn in Australia 🇦🇺🙏😁
imo this vid could have been cut down to 10 minutes... i played it at 2x speed and still had the need to skip parts. sometimes it's better just to not talk than talk... i like you vids, but i dont think you have to decipher and explain every step. trim the runtime to half build, half skate (and not talk the entire duration) -shrugs-. i know i'd enjoy that more than 95% drawn-out build, 5% skate (if that). just an opinion, that's all. :) keep at it... the diy stuff is good, just gotta balance the content.

great build, if you painted it white - you’d never know it was there
Yes! Another build! I'm not even a skater, but this effort for the community is just so feel-good to watch.
I never knew Zack was so zesty.
We all zest it out from time to time
🤣

Imagine pulling up to the spot with 7 buckets of mixed crete and all of a sudden it's a bust 😂 🤷♂️
Dude, with a hi viz vest, white hard hat and a clipboard, you can do anything
Add a couple of orange cones 👌 dialed in haha
Paint it white, to make it blend in!!!!
The music selection for this one was on point; from the forms to the bondo I was loving it.
Watch this jersey barrier last 10+ years also. Lol
Zack! Keep doing what you’re doing! You’re the best!
Classy vid with the orchestra music love it
Thank you!
Sick one. Dude, a hammer drill and a mixing paddle in a bucket with a bucket scooper is gonna change the game.
Dowdy needs to get tooled up, I suggest makita

the Richie Jackson slander :O
Steezy with the back fifty and back smith
+1 for painting it white so that it blends in a lot better. Casual passersby wouldn’t notice it much.
You are doing the lords work 🙌
The neighbor in that car gets Sus when U come back & start Skateboarding there😮😂
Brilliant, loved the video, great skating too , peace ✌️

“Suss it out” 😂 keep up the good work
thank you Brother!! you're the man
Homie that got in his car didn't even shoot you a second glance. You're full incognito in the vest bro
how about a damp sponge or a sponge trowel to help with finishing/tapering the seam. they use it in the stucco industry
Keeping SD great one skate spot at a time . Check out the haggard pipe on the mountain in Poway
I love these videos !!!
Big props. always out there building and shredding

Nice.
That stuff is rad as hell! We fixed some cracks in the park and refit a coping block with that stuff. it sets in like 10 mins and holds up nice

Gods work .. angels SKATE, hide their wings underfoot where only those with grace can see!

after the smith i wanted you to roll down that small hill and yell gx500
Need to add a traffic cone to your camo kit.
Add concrete to the curb !
I'm wondering, if you are that sketched out about building it, will you feel comfortable sessioning it?

I love your videos and it feels weird being this early
Very cool
Zesty spot
Wearing a hard hat would help with legitimacy. Also your high vis vest looks a bit civilian.
And Another Great Video ! 🤘🤪🤘
